Whilst I'm pleased that the UK is pressing for more global involvement in fighting climate change, I really don't think we can wait until 2020 for an effective treaty. At the moment the government is pressing for growth but does not seem to acknowledge that resource and energy use must urgently be decoupled from GDP growth if we are to avoid planetary disaster. We really do need a new type of economics!
