I highly encourage every one looking for a cheep electric guitar to buy any thing but a BC Rich. Buy Epiphone, buy sqire heck even buy Ibenez. A fender mexicanmade is $400 thats the ultimate cheep guitar. Just don't by BC Rich their own decent for medal. If you play on any thing less then a high quailty amp designed for gain the sound horrible. And Epiphone and Squire do everything this guitar does better and their 100 times more verstile. Plus they dont look like the ugliest guitar ever

Anyone on here, please don't buy a BC Rich. I'm not on here to "troll" or talk shit. But buying a BC Rich will be one of the worst investments you'll ever make. They're incredibly heavy, they sound tinny and flat, and are way over priced. Please, listen to me, I've owned three of them before, buying each one against my better judgement. I've had nothing but trouble with them.

i brought one for 400 bucks today. supposed to come in in 3 to 5 days and from what i see to what i was getting it looks like a great guitar. i noticed how close the strings are to the frets but my one concern is the tuners. how is it for shredding? i read it does a well job with that.

@LuigiLRBA Epiphone guitars are way more decent :) So I'd pick an epiphone over this one. Know this from my own experience. I have this warlock and used to have an epiphone les paul and played an SG

@LuigiLRBA Please, please , please get an SG this guitat is crap an Epiphone SG has been extremly good to me it was my main guitar until I just recentely got an American Standard Fender Strat from 97 which is the most versitle guitar I've ever put my hands on. If you've got a limited buget theres nothing better then Epihone it literly does everything better then this guitar plus it looks super elagent and this guitar makes you look like a jerk and you don't want that.

i had one for about a year, but i got tired of f-ing with the tuning pegs. i had two that would slip a bit...man, i hate that. anyway, i dumped it pretty quick. better to save a bit or just spend more on a higher quality model...just my opinion...

i hav this guitar nd when u stand up to play it the neck always goes way down nd its hard to play i dunno if it is where the strap is put or the weight is not balanced but i just thought id let u guys know but apart from that i wud deffintly recomend this guitar

@phatznipa66 Well this guitar is great, but perhaps check out the Epiphone Les Paul and SG as well. Back in the days when I bought this I was totally into metal, but if I was a little bit more rock oriented I would have gone for the SG since it's more versital than the warlock. All in all, I suggest try out the warlock and perhaps the SG (and the Les Paul) and see which one you like the most :)

I have this guitar as well, allthough I have the platinum series... your review suits what this guitar is all about. Allthough you could have mentioned the string hight. It's quite igh and I can't get them any lower without losing sound. But nevertheless really nice guitar for just a few bucks.

@xbloodxdrunkx yes they are the stock pickups, and what kind of amp are you using? I use a Cube 80x, it has a very edgy, sharp R-fier mode that can make any guitar even with single coils sound beefy

@violentrage86 Because the strings "live", they stretch when you bend them (or by any chance, if you have a floyd rose tremolo they will go out of tune if you use it), You need to stretch them correctly

Almost every cheap guitar has low quality tuners that are bound to slip a lot. it's not just with BC Rich guitars, it's with almost every company that makes cheap guitars. The more expensive guitars of BC Rich (platinum, signature and custom shop) have much better tuning stability and barely go out of tune as far as I know

Well to tell you the truth it is pretty bulky, but its nothing too heavy. I had a stratocaster model before this guitar and I barely had any struggle with getting used to the weight of the guitar

I´ve got this guitar since 4 months and its cool.

But i have to aks what AMP are you using or what you would buy for ~120€ to play Metal. It could be that my AMP sucks.

Im also using the Elixir Nanoweb Strings Super Lights 009-042. Are there better Strings for a great sound?

Super light strings ? That is not gonna cut it!

Use at least 010 or 011 gauge...

If you can play already that is. If you are fairly new to guitar then stick with the light gauge for a couple months till your fingers stop hurting when playing guitar...

Yes they are harder to tune and to restring. But practice makes perfect and after several times you'll get the hang of it. Nevertheless, it will always be more time-consuming then a guitar without a floating tremolo. If you change the tuning of the guitar a lot then I wouldn't recommend a guitar with a floating tremolo

yea i got a ibanez RG5EX1 about four months ago it has the edge III.. and it is a bitch to restring.. im getting the hang of it but i would not recommend a floating trem for a beginner
