I think this is the first time you removed a hard disk from a T43.

He is Chinese. Nugah mean 'this'. My T43 will accept somoe other hard drives, you need to press ECT every boot though.

He doesn't actually change the drive.

The T43 and the R52 need special harddrives from Lenovo that have a non-standard firmware update to do with the fact that those specific models use PATA harddrives but internally are SATA ready,

Therefore if you switch the harddrive to a model that doesn't have this firmware update the machine doesn't work.
