What's so notorious about Simon Soussan?...I wrote a few songs for him ages ago, but then we stopped working together...i could send you my email if you want to explain there...
Ian your doing a Fantastic Job Thank you! loving all the old wigan tunes here in Sunny Australia. If Wigan was still open I wouldnt have moved to the other side of the world/
Its sad Ian to hear that Bob passed away . One of the cornerstones and foundations of the Northern Soul Sound . I think without records like this and others like NF Porter , George Blackwell etc , you and Colin Curtis could not have pushed forward with the new material at the Ritz and the Highland room .
For those who'd like to receive the free e-mail NEWSLETTER "Reaching for the Best" I'm doing on Ian's productions, please sign up by sending me your e-mail address! We hope to hear from you!
I have known Bobby and Aki since I was 21 years old. I am now goiung to be 60, Bobby is my brother-in-law. I was shocked to see this video, as he had been very ill for sometime. Can anyone tell me where it came from?
We filmed it in early 1999. We had already earlier filmed it in 1998, but he messed up a lot of the words, so my assistant flew back to Los Angeles and redid it.
I was so sad to hear he died. So many artists we filmed for The Strange World Of Northern Soul have now gone - Bob Relf, Erma Franklin, Bobby Sheen, Tommy Ridgley, Ray Pollard, Emanuel Lasky, The Carstairs, The Tempos, Freddie Butler, Edwin Starr, Doris Troy, Otis Leavill, Johnny Moore, James Fountain, Jackie Day, Little Ann, and more - it's frightening.

I feel priviledged to comment about one of the classics of my era.
Bob appeared to be unshackled by the intrusiveness of camera, it just got better and better.
You only live once and I `ve been fortunate to grow up with this,

Thanks Ian. We were close, but after he went back to Diamond Bar when he became so ill,
we couldn't stay in touch. He was in and oout of the hospital so much. His brother and I have
mourned his passing rather deeply. I can only speak for myself in that I may not get over it too quickly.
He was with us in the summer of 1999 here in Vegas. But he chose to go back home to Diamond Bar.
If you talk to Aki, send him my love.
Sincerely,
Andrea Relf
