I first saw this piece when the BYU wind ensemble did it on BYUTV! Actually made me with I were a drummer for a moment or two but am fairly content with being an oboist though! :) And no comments on the performance as I feel anyone who does this has FUN and the audience did too! i mean I enjoyed it on TV for pete's sake!
i remember when my brother did this for his senior year of high school. it was the coolest piece he's ever done. i guess they made it their own though. he ended up taking his drum head and rubbing it up and down his cheek during the song, fake licked it, and then he was the only one to put his head through it. but it's so cool to see how everyone makes it their own. great jobs boys. few rough spots, but overall good job.
very nice job. just keep it more together when ur doin the sixteenth grooves. tosses have to be worked on also. i did this last season and we were pretty good. focused mostly on the details. thats what makes this work. but overall nice job.
REALLY GOOD JOB, I ENJOY IT A LOT...ITS JUST AMAZING!!! very clean, just some few spots, and I the improvisions and player one mess ups...and u guys did a good job with the fake out ending...and the real ending
Overall, the purpose is communicated and seems like you guys understand what is supposed to be happening. Really spend time with the transitions - with a piece like this the visual is as important as the musical elements. Also, consider taking more time; it seems very rushed to play it as fast as you can and likewise with the fermata catch/fake ending section. Soak it up for the sound that can be achieved at a slightly slower tempo.
At m. 123 the rhythm is incorrect, it's eighth note triplets, not eighth notes. other than that very nice job overall
