I am watching this in 2011--almost 2012...and I cant help but be pissed to think that he could still have been doing this last season if he hadnt given up on himself after the trade away from Orlando...he really seemed to have worked on his game in the off-season and had great percentages...wanted so badly for another championship caliber season
@sauce556 Exactly. Not only that, his talent and creativity and all that are still there with the Mavs now, but the shape he was in with the Magic at the beginning of the last season is not.
Even with that, he could still do SO much more with the Mavs except he's either not getting the ball or he's isolating himself in the corner and watching the other guys play. As if he's saying "look, I'm not looking to stop the ball/look selfish so go ahead and you take the shots". I say fuck that
@Raptorel Yea I saw a lot of that in the opener vs Miami...when Vince was a ghost on the court that the Mavs couldnt see...he was standing in the corner for about 5 consecutive posessions while nobody even looked his way lol...In his position I would almost feel disrespected but it is his own fault that for the last coupla years he has lacked an ego which has ultimately been his downfall...his unselfishness is what allows players around him to be more selfish and ultimately disallow him to play
@sauce556 Well yeah, the thing is - you don't see Kobe, Pierce, Ray Allen, whomever - average 6FGA per game like Vince is currently averaging with the Mavs.
IT JUST HURTS ME EVERYTIME I THINK OF VINCE NOT HAVING A CHAMPIONSHIP RING...Wish he could get a championship next season..Just One Ring..Coz he deserves to be called as CHAMP..
I wish Vince Carter would have received a special exemption from New Orleans to head down the floor in the last 10 seconds and bust a windmill for his 50th point without anyone catching feelings.
Vince would of had 50 if Van Gundy didn't make Vince inbound the ball in the final minute of the game while it was still close. Even Van Gundy admitted he made a mistake by doing that.
Vince Carter was amazing for his 12 years in the NBA.Toronto ,New Jeresy, and Orlando was his best fit of his career. Now wit Phoenix, he played like shit. He's my favorite player all time, but when he went to Phoenix. He had only 6-7 good games and the rest was bad.
i wish carter would have a ring with the sun's and why did orlando give up carter though he's such a great shooter but still even im a dwade fan but originally my all time favorite player is carter and remembering the olympics carter smack the ass out of weis in that dunk haha
i still dont know why orlando traded him away. i felt they werent that good since they had no one to stretch the floor since no one else is consistent
vince carter was the answer for the playoff push for the magic. stan just didnt give carter enough minutes. only 30 minutes??? no carter needs more. he could have avg. 22-24ppg with 36-38 minutes or 35.
Lol...That Year They Got To The ECF Then Eliminated I Think, They Went Like 12-0 Before Losing One Game SHEESH!...But This Year They Couldnt Even Get Out The First Round...Retarded Trade By Magic Organization And Now Dwight Wants To Go Into The Free Agency....And They Have No Money With All These Big Contracts And They Thought VC Wasnt The Answer Neither Is Hedo, Gilbert, Or Jason!
Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady...two of the biggest "could have beens" this league has ever seen...without the injuries...they'd both most definitely be in the HOF...
@retrotw vince carter will still be in the HOF--check the career stat sheet--t-mac has been way more injury plagued than vince--vince just had that label early in his career and it never went away even though he BARELY missed any games after being traded from toronto
@sauce556 i would love to see VC in the HOF...however its just my opinion that he hasnt achieve that status yet...he does have great career numbers tho..
Man if he'd just have that mindset of playing like this all the time... you don't see him laughing around and joking in this game... he's all out serious. This was his last game when I've seen the VC swagger out... that's a shame.
@Raptorel i blame both his mentality...as well as the teams mentality to persuade his mentality....even in this game...they pick and rolled vc the whole second half (successfully) however his success rate lies more with the isolation than pick and rolls on a nightly basis...orlando failed to recognize this...as did vince to tell them...so i blame both...and the same now in phoenix where i feel vc is very distraught after the trade and showing little passion for the game
yeah!!!vince carter cant dunk now!!in his prime!!!!!!but!!..his still a great shooter!slasher!!all around player!!hs little bit slow!!but try to stop him if you can!!!!he is a legend!!!!!!d wade? LBJ??your just a kid compare to vince carter!!!!!!vc is the man!!!!he is still the greatest player in the nba!!!
man i remember how movie like this game was. ha hugggee comeback led by the veteran hero who was strugglin previously an shocked everyone iwth this game.
i skipped all my classes the next day jus to watch sportscenter and highlights.
yes a dunk would hav been nice but who cares honestly hes old get over it. I dont ever remember MJ's fans complaining once he got older for not flying doing prime time dunks all the time
Im even impressed he can still do like off backboard windmills and 360s.
Raptors build around VC, Raptors become a dominant team in the east, Raptors vs. Lakers in finals, VC and Kobe build historic rivalry, aaah what couldve been!!
im a celtics fan since 2000...and i like wat i see in boston...but u cannot ever count the orlando out..this is a solid team with good chemistry and deadly 3 pointers which is so crucial come playoff time...all the talks about miami...i still think orlando and boston will meet in the eastern finals
its such a shame. unlike other great athletes, as he ages, carter gets less athletic and less skill. As jordan and bryant aged, their athleticism declined but they got more skilled. vince can't post, can't dribble, and can't fade.
its such a shame. unlike other great athletes, as he ages, carter gets less athletic and less skill. As jordan and bryant aged, their athleticism declined but they got more skilled. vince can't post, can't dribble, and can't fade.
yea id rather see vince carter hit a gamewinning shot to win game 7 of the NBA Finals rather than him jumping over a 7 footer and dunking the ball again lol
As of today (March 18, 2010), Vince Carter is shooting a staggering 64.0% TS% since Feb. 1, 2010 (21 games). To give you an idea of how incredible that is, if he had that percentage on the season, he would be #1 in TS% in the ENTIRE LEAGUE. Not only that, but only one "non big" in the entire league is shooting over 62% TS% on the season (Chauncey Billups).
I was annoyed by the fact that he kept on inbounding the ball at the end of the game, instead of being on the receiving end of the inbounds pass so he could shoot the free throws.
Stan van Gundy talked about that in the post-game interview... he would've beaten his career high if that would've happen.
Glad to see these 2 leading the team. Just wish theyd be used a bit more. Theyve never lost a game when both are scoring 20 points. (besides tonight....)
just try to imagine if vc exert himself to be a much more scorer.he is a team first person but the way he put up great numbers,2 51 pts, maybe 10 or more 40 pts and more 30 pts,he will maybe the best scorer that the nba would have if he just want to score and score.
The funny thing is....in this game, Rashard Lewis had an interview saying that he doesn't have to be Vince Carter every night because he has so much help.
vince seemed to turn old overnight after those knee injuries in toronto. And i don't think he ever took off season conditioning seriously. it kinda shows in his body now.
i just wanna get this straight, dunt think tht all raptors fan hate vince carter, im tired of tht shyt, ive been following carter since tha his rookie season, n yes im a raptors fan
i kno its has nothin to do with this video but.... worst slam dunk ever but the funniest yo lmfao when shannon brown moved all the public in da other half court for doin a one handed dunk, dat was crazy yo hahahahahahah really disappointing tho that nate didnt keep tryin that one from behind the basket and between the legs at the same time =(
i dont kno dude i just kno dat this years one wasnt very good it wasnt even a slam dunk just derozan had something prepared, nate wallace and brown just went there to see wat happened and luckily they wood win a slam dunk but its obvious dat they didnt prepare nothing
Raptors fans don't really know what happened, what about what happened to Vince Carter? Coach wasn't giving him minutes he wanted, General Manager wasn't getting along with Vince Carter, Media twisting Vince's words around which they admitted to but the hatred for Vince was so bad all the fans were pretty blinded by everyone boo'ing him, the fans only deserves 3-4 buzzer beaters and kicked off the playoff by Vince Carter! I live in Toronto and I'll always be a VC fan!
i'll tell you what the raptor fans hated about carter...the way he pouted on the court when he made those trade demands, the way he would lay on the floor for minutes like he got shot after a little bit of contact, the time he said he took plays off during games,
the way he smiled and joked with the other teams players right after a loss, the facial expression when we got the fourth pick in the 2003 draft, and the way he just gave up on the raptors at the end...thats why lots of raps fans despise him.
nice ass quality yo nice ass video as well and great carters game too lets see if he returns to be what he was i love VC its a shame dat he may not win a ring i hope he'll dis year
@vc15encyclopedia- I was born and raised in Orlando and have been a Magic fan since my first game when I was 6. For 13 years I've watched the high-flyers like Steve Francis and T-Mac come in, and yes they provided sparks and scored 50+ points almost every night, but they couldnt win in the post season. I honestly think that what Vince did this game (driving to the basket, hitting 60% from the perimeter, fadeaway shots, etc.) is what I'd rather have more consistently than a crazy dunk any day.
I think vince is saving his energy on dunks for the play offs tbh, he ALWAYS gives his 110% during playoff time, he won't be holding anything back, he knows this is his time to win the championship
@soychevere03 - wow ... based on comments like yours, people would trade in this performance for a one handed dunk ... hasnt VC dunked enough the past 11 years for you fans?
@JoshZoso - why on earth would I disagree with that. All I am saying is that fans should re-evaluate their priorities. I have heard so many 'disappointed' fans complaining about lack of dunks. It is very telling to me about how shallow a lot of fans are these days.
Nobody can deny that how he treated the raptors was at best disgraceful, towards the end of his tenure here.
Having seen how after building our franchise up, and then threw it back in the Raptors fan's faces, I have never seen the guy in the same light since.
@JoseCaldercat Why can't you Raptor fans accept the fact that your management never committed to do better for Vince, Toronto, Canada, and most important;y YOU FANS!!!
the raptors never did anything 4 carter...but carter did everything 4 the raptors...he didnt want 2 play 4 a organization an a city that reapeated disrespected him....h didnt have any problems at any time n new jersey or hasnt had any problems n orlando....and that show the raptors was the problem...not carter
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Nobody disrespected vince!!!! Where is all this coming from!?
He came back after summer majorly out of shape and still expected to be treated the same. He then went and demanded a trade when the raptors looked like they were on the up.
When he was denied permission to leave, then it was revealed his true character. He played without effort and repeaedly faked injuries in order to get off court, acting like a complete child. He also tipped off other teams benches about what plays we were..
go fuck urself...just tell me how the fuck can u fake injuries? u think VC can deceive a whole bunch of doctors?? u cant fake injjuries jackass..and u cant deceive the teams medical staff cuz once u do ur contracts terminated! Damn u craptor fans GET OVER IT ALREADY!!! the craptors were supposed to build around VC n not destroy his career..what a 40 year old hakeem olajuwon or a 37 yr old charles oakely was a good deal u think?? fuck toronto n fuck the craptors for almost tarnishing VCs career
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
nobody tarnished VC's career but himself. His actions gave us no choice but to trade him and we ended up with a crap deal.
What was once a blossoming franchise was torn to pieces by the guy who created it. Nobody can blame raptor fans for being unhappy with the guys behaviour. He was and has been a great player over his career, but that does not detract from what he did.
@omm85 lol you clearly don't know what youre talking about. First of all medical staff is not supposed to reveal information about an athletes condition whether he is fine or not. Second, ANY player in the NBA can play bad, not want to perform or play sluggish in order to get the front office's attention. There is CLEAR evidence in his stats, if he was injured - WHY THE HELL DID HIS PPG INCREASE BY 11 POINTS WHEN HE WENT TO THE NETS?
@omm85 Secondly, nobody tarnished his career, he went to a VERY GOOD Nets team with Career high statistics and did not get past the 2nd round. Then he went to the Magic (THE YEAR IN THE VIDEO) and did not get to the Finals with probably THE 2nd BEST team in the NBA. He had no excuse but personal liabilities. I wonder who missed that shot at the Buzzer against Philly? Im not even attacking VC there, im attacking the fact that you're excusing him for going through his career with bad judgement.
@Raptorel Who said I am basing his whole career on one shot? I just wrote 2 full paragraphs about what I based his career on. I mentioned that shot as merely a reflection of VCs disappointment, which led to his selfishness and then leaving of the organization. He missed the shot is what I am aiming at and he mentioned it himself "Im just a sore loser".
@sheikh03 Well that shot at his shot wasn't cool. Not that it isn't true but he shot countless of other clutch shots. If that shot was to be 1cm or half an inch to the left or right and went in he was to be such a great clutch shooter blah blah blah. Now if that shot missed people seem to think that all the other shots that went in were canceled. That's retarded.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
running in crunch time. Not to mention the fact that he could have been an even better player had he put the effort in to get there.
He openly has admitted he could have tried a lot harder than he did. Other things he decided to do when in game was refusing to dunk because of his childish nature.
When he got to new jersey and orlando he got what he wanted and that was money. But he has still never quite put the effort in which is why is play has declined as rapidly as it has done.
ur a casual fan who follows media and not facts and statistics..vince was most popular and played great in toronto..but his best years statistically...and hitting a high quantity of clutch game tying and winning shots...not to mention a lot of 360 layups and posters (alonzo mourning) were in new jersey...he didnt decline at all in jersey...instead his play improved
@sauce556 , u're right, VC was at his best in Jersey, the Nets weren't getting the most media coverage, but dude had some incredible years with the Nets.
@vc15encyclopedia as a vc fan his lack of dunks is not what dissapoints me...id rather watch him make layups and 3 pointers and clutch shots at this stage of his career bcz hes already spoiled us with his dunks throughout his career...
@vc15encyclopedia but i just fail to understand whyyyy whyyyyyyy vince carter seems to lack agression when he needs it most lol its so irritating and frustrating to watch him play with so little passion in the most important games of his career...losing some respect for him even as a loyal fan...
@vc15encyclopedia i couldn't agree more with you. i've been a faithful fan of vc since north carolina, and i've seen the best and worse of vince, and knowing that he doesn't dunk much anymore, people aren't admiring his shooting ability as much as they really should. he's a great play maker and a great teammate, why are people complaining that he doesn't dunk anymore? they really need to see a player's overall talent and not just one particular attribute. THANK YOU for the uploads man!
HALF MAN HALF AMAZING! AIR CANADA STRIKES AGAIN! I live in Toronto and he'll always be my fav basket-ball player! I never doubted him, I KNEW he was gonna pick it up, I talk to so many people, they all say it's over for him! HELL NO!
the sad thing is, I had the chance to watch it but my Mom wanted to watch her Law & Order. And I was getting my new cable box on Wednesday. If it happened 3 days later I would have witnessed it live. But anyway, i am very happy for vc. he's my favorite player of all time. And I'm glad he showed up those magic fans who were starting to wish they still had HEdo after January!
same hurr...ever since 2007 i barely watch ne of the all star games lol he got screwed outta the spot last year and woke up just a bittt too late this year

vince seemed to turn old overnight after those knee injuries in toronto. And i don't think he ever took off season conditioning seriously. it kinda shows in his body now.

i kno its has nothin to do with this video but.... worst slam dunk ever but the funniest yo lmfao when shannon brown moved all the public in da other half court for doin a one handed dunk, dat was crazy yo hahahahahahah really disappointing tho that nate didnt keep tryin that one from behind the basket and between the legs at the same time =(
next year hopefully lebron and iggy will go

iggyz never going bak in it since he got screwed in 06 against nate...and lebron isnt going in it bcz hes scared of ruining his rep

i dont kno dude i just kno dat this years one wasnt very good it wasnt even a slam dunk just derozan had something prepared, nate wallace and brown just went there to see wat happened and luckily they wood win a slam dunk but its obvious dat they didnt prepare nothing

I live in Toronto and I'll always be a VC fan!

the truth
azniza519 1 year ago
i'll tell you what the raptor fans hated about carter...the way he pouted on the court when he made those trade demands, the way he would lay on the floor for minutes like he got shot after a little bit of contact, the time he said he took plays off during games,
kerchek 1 year ago
the way he smiled and joked with the other teams players right after a loss, the facial expression when we got the fourth pick in the 2003 draft, and the way he just gave up on the raptors at the end...thats why lots of raps fans despise him.
kerchek 1 year ago
yeah...but like one of the commentators said in a Raps V Nets game...as much as the negative you shouldn't forget the positive.
Vince is the greatest player to put on a raptors uniform in its short history. He did a lot for that team that shouldn't be forgotten.
Raptors fans need to get over it

@vc15encyclopedia- I was born and raised in Orlando and have been a Magic fan since my first game when I was 6. For 13 years I've watched the high-flyers like Steve Francis and T-Mac come in, and yes they provided sparks and scored 50+ points almost every night, but they couldnt win in the post season. I honestly think that what Vince did this game (driving to the basket, hitting 60% from the perimeter, fadeaway shots, etc.) is what I'd rather have more consistently than a crazy dunk any day.

I think vince is saving his energy on dunks for the play offs tbh, he ALWAYS gives his 110% during playoff time, he won't be holding anything back, he knows this is his time to win the championship

soychevere03 1 year ago 6
@soychevere03 - wow ... based on comments like yours, people would trade in this performance for a one handed dunk ... hasnt VC dunked enough the past 11 years for you fans?

@vc15encyclopedia
You are absolutely right!
BigPatrys15 1 year ago 2
@vc15encyclopedia did you read the "THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY"?
i'm a huge fan of vince and i think that a greaaat dunk at 33 olds old would be awesome, not a simple one handed dunk (:
soychevere03 1 year ago
Although I completely agree with you, you gotta admit that Vince dunking was extremely fun and exciting to see.
JoshZoso 1 year ago
@JoshZoso - why on earth would I disagree with that. All I am saying is that fans should re-evaluate their priorities. I have heard so many 'disappointed' fans complaining about lack of dunks. It is very telling to me about how shallow a lot of fans are these days.
vc15encyclopedia 1 year ago
Nobody can deny that how he treated the raptors was at best disgraceful, towards the end of his tenure here.
Having seen how after building our franchise up, and then threw it back in the Raptors fan's faces, I have never seen the guy in the same light since.
JoseCaldercat 1 year ago
@JoseCaldercat Why can't you Raptor fans accept the fact that your management never committed to do better for Vince, Toronto, Canada, and most important;y YOU FANS!!!
Marakulous43 1 year ago
the raptors never did anything 4 carter...but carter did everything 4 the raptors...he didnt want 2 play 4 a organization an a city that reapeated disrespected him....h didnt have any problems at any time n new jersey or hasnt had any problems n orlando....and that show the raptors was the problem...not carter

JoseCaldercat 1 year ago
go fuck urself...just tell me how the fuck can u fake injuries? u think VC can deceive a whole bunch of doctors?? u cant fake injjuries jackass..and u cant deceive the teams medical staff cuz once u do ur contracts terminated! Damn u craptor fans GET OVER IT ALREADY!!! the craptors were supposed to build around VC n not destroy his career..what a 40 year old hakeem olajuwon or a 37 yr old charles oakely was a good deal u think?? fuck toronto n fuck the craptors for almost tarnishing VCs career

nobody tarnished VC's career but himself.

There is CLEAR evidence in his stats, if he was injured - WHY THE HELL DID HIS PPG INCREASE BY 11 POINTS WHEN HE WENT TO THE NETS?
sheikh03 3 months ago
@omm85 Secondly, nobody tarnished his career, he went to a VERY GOOD Nets team with Career high statistics and did not get past the 2nd round. Then he went to the Magic (THE YEAR IN THE VIDEO) and did not get to the Finals with probably THE 2nd BEST team in the NBA. He had no excuse but personal liabilities. I wonder who missed that shot at the Buzzer against Philly? Im not even attacking VC there, im attacking the fact that you're excusing him for going through his career with bad judgement.
sheikh03 3 months ago
@sheikh03 You base an entire career on one shot?
Raptorel 1 month ago
@Raptorel Who said I am basing his whole career on one shot? I just wrote 2 full paragraphs about what I based his career on. I mentioned that shot as merely a reflection of VCs disappointment, which led to his selfishness and then leaving of the organization. He missed the shot is what I am aiming at and he mentioned it himself "Im just a sore loser".
sheikh03 1 month ago
@Raptorel Also dont be under the impression that I dont like VC.. it was a response to a claim made by someone else about him.
sheikh03 1 month ago
@sheikh03 Well that shot at his shot wasn't cool. Not that it isn't true but he shot countless of other clutch shots. If that shot was to be 1cm or half an inch to the left or right and went in he was to be such a great clutch shooter blah blah blah. Now if that shot missed people seem to think that all the other shots that went in were canceled. That's retarded.
I don't understand what led to his selfishness.

running in crunch time.
JoseCaldercat 1 year ago
nights like this one are brief glipmses of the kind of player vince carter could have been.
JoseCaldercat 1 year ago
This is the kind of player that Vince Carter IS! None of that could have been bullshit.
Neptunz05 1 year ago
ur a casual fan who follows media and not facts and statistics..vince was most popular and played great in toronto..but his best years statistically...and hitting a high quantity of clutch game tying and winning shots...not to mention a lot of 360 layups and posters (alonzo mourning) were in new jersey...he didnt decline at all in jersey...instead his play improved
sauce556 1 year ago
@sauce556 , u're right, VC was at his best in Jersey, the Nets weren't getting the most media coverage, but dude had some incredible years with the Nets.
foxychocho 1 year ago
dude your an idiot, Vince Carter refused to dunk?
if your refering to the interview where he said he doesn't want to dunk anymore, dunking is overrated, he was just kidding with the media.
He dunked the next night!
azniza519 1 year ago 6
@vc15encyclopedia as a vc fan his lack of dunks is not what dissapoints me...id rather watch him make layups and 3 pointers and clutch shots at this stage of his career bcz hes already spoiled us with his dunks throughout his career...
sauce556 1 year ago
@vc15encyclopedia but i just fail to understand whyyyy whyyyyyyy vince carter seems to lack agression when he needs it most lol its so irritating and frustrating to watch him play with so little passion in the most important games of his career...losing some respect for him even as a loyal fan...
sauce556 1 year ago
@vc15encyclopedia i couldn't agree more with you. i've been a faithful fan of vc since north carolina, and i've seen the best and worse of vince, and knowing that he doesn't dunk much anymore, people aren't admiring his shooting ability as much as they really should. he's a great play maker and a great teammate, why are people complaining that he doesn't dunk anymore? they really need to see a player's overall talent and not just one particular attribute. THANK YOU for the uploads man!

the whole basketball world went crazy when he did this...
vince scores 50 like no one else can other players need alot of free throws he did it with (4)
plus he is the oldest player since jordan and karl malone to score that much.
the league needs him to do this more it will draw more fans cause people act like Vince more than lebron and kobe
