He was around when they were, Taylor started aroun 1976. Johnny just knew that Martin had their tails whipped in length of existence and quality of products.

Johnny was long past his prime by the time Taylor had any national presense. You right about the longevity but then a model T Ford has been around longer than my Dodge Caravan but I am never trading for one! :)

Ohhh, I love this tune, certainly in my top 10 Johnny Cash songs. You had me harmonizing on the bridge. This tune makes me tear up a little, my dear Aunt [rip] used to sing this while I sang baritone harmony. What great memories! Me & Bob from my videos do it now, and our harmonies sound pretty nice. Coincidentally we do it in C as well. I usually do it in Bb.
