This is great, especially the acoustic bass accompaniment at the beginning....but damn, who was that other guitarist screwing up the sound? Could have done without him. The acoustic bass line when the chorus part hits, though, really worked very well.

Both excellent, both different. We have to remember that Mason CREATED 'Classical Gas.' Personally, I like my version, or interpretation better as well. But it is easy to play with the framework and embellish the music once it is done. The genesis of the idea, then creating the music from in a total cohesive way, is a huge challenge. Classical Gas was a HUGE hit and it still sells. As much as I love Tommy, he has yet to reach the masses as Mason did.

Mason is a great performer, and an amazing musician. But personaly I like Tommy Emanueals version better, and I think it sounds better on a stell string rather than a nylon.
