  • Have you visited "reggaelinx website"it has the best collection of reggaes videos, plus most of their videos are high quality.

  • Thanks for the post. Glenn Ellis is one of the greats. I used to see him and Chuck @ Tramps west 21st N.YC. He turned me on to Bartolini pick-ups .......You did this tune justice...Nice Work...Papa G

  • So good, have you tab'd it out?? would love to see that, very well done, love it

  • @ Jamerson, Glenn said to tell you thank you for the acknowledgement.

  • @hlfrankjr1906

Wow - my pleasure - please send my regards and thanks for hundreds of hours of amazing listening pleasure - I wore out 2 copies of that double live album. Nobody can play swung slap bass better than Glenn.

  • Great stuff man, I'm learning this song for my band to cover and you've definitely been a help! Keep up the great work!

  • tight

  • WOW YOU ARE GOOD!!!

  • Probably the best version of this song besides Stevie...and great playing man! Not an easy piece at all - I was impressed, would love to jam with you!

  • I say the dude kicks ass...

  • great playin, almost as cool as the onepiece blue jumpsuit, almost. :)

  • This is pretty good. You got skills, it sounds good. Keep on playing.

  • good to see you play some chuck brown. a true d.c. go-go legend. if you can try to get his version of people make the world go round. his bass player glenn ellis is really showing his ass....lol

also check out some older rare essence tunes with mike "finky ned" neal on bass. that's who i look up to, being a d.c. native myself.

  • damn that is some cool bass right there

  • Thanks - If you don't have it, you should try to get Chuck Brown's Live '87 double album - it's worth getting just to hear Ricky Wellman's hi-hat work - a truly amazing player. He went on to play with Miles Davis for a while.

  • "Sugar Foot" is definitely a complete player. Many people outside of DC criticize GO GO for it's simplicity without realizing that the musicians in the older more established bands (Chuck Brown, E. U., Trouble, and some of Rare Essence) are accomplished writers and producers for mainstream music.

    Excellent playing on your part!

  • what I like about you is that you're not limited to one style of playing. I've played the bass for years, but basically in the James Jamerson style- I could never get the hang of "slapping" or any other style. you're truly great at what you do.

  • Thanks - I can't slap at all really, but I love the Chuck Brown live stuff so much I just wanted to put this little tribute up...
