  • thy're like "i luv u pole, i luuuuv u"

  • Thanks so much for the info! I went to visit a Bengal cattery today, thinking about getting a new Bengal. I miss my old one so much. Home Depot in my future. BTW, I do pretty well clipping the claws on my other two cats, but they are not active cats. I did wonder about the climbing thing, so thanks for the details. You are very generous!

  • I assume these are indoor cats and you are trimming their claws. Is that correct? I'm just wondering how they manage to climb. Any claw trimming tips? If not trimmed, do you have trouble with scratches (on furniture, or on *you*)? Any tips for stapling? Type of carpet? Thanks for another fabulous video. I love your channel!

  • @harpmyday indoor with trimmed claws. Trimmed claws are still plenty for cats to climb all but the most shear structure. Take a look at my "Day in the life" video to see claw trimming. And I think there are a bunch of comments there about how to trim like you see in the video. Trimming claws help with scratches, but not scratching people is something you need to train and it's easy. While providing structures for scratching. Cats must scratch like the must breath, but you can direct that need.

  • @harpmyday carpet can be anything. But loop carpet is better than pile. For thin pile carpet, their claws (even trimmed) go right thru to the backing. Their favorite carpet is sisal which I got at pier one, but any will do. I use a construction stapler. and it can be a chore to hold the carpet while stapling. Some of my structures just have a flat strip of carpet glued with liquid nails to the top of the board.

  • Great structures!

I need some for my two

  • what a fun place to be!

can you tell me what material do you use to cover the pole?

It seems you are a DIY expert

    They are so lucky!

  • You people are really loving cat owners--all the work that you put into the Kitty Gymnasium in your closet!! These are lucky cats, and georgeous. Thanks for sharing.

  • I really like the set up you have for your beautiful cats. It's really nice!

  • very very very very beautiful and good, congratulations!!!!!

  • Who have made this awesome song?

  • the song is Vildhonung (Wild Honey) by Boot. The versions on itunes are not quite the same. I got this version some 10 years ago from the artist's web site, which I can not find anymore.

  • your cats kick ass...please keep posting

  • I LOVE Bengals, but I understand that they can be quite a handfull, LOL!

    Ukee and Koru are gorgeous!

  • I adore your two kitties :-) And I love the vids you have posted, how adorable <3

  • Did you make everything yourself? Quite impressive stuff :D

  • i want a bengal now...

i love how the one bit the others tail and he slaps him and was like WTF??

  • Amazing agility and such beautiful engineering.

  • That wasn't an upside down climb?

  • well, sort of upside down at 3:25 in the video. Koru is on the underside of her pole, although it is her steep pole. The real upside down climb is in our "bengal cat crazy bionic" at 0:30 in to the video. Quite a feat of strength!

  • Never have I seen, so much thought....that has gone into making the kids feel so free while inside. These babies are so well loved, and I have subscribed to share in the fun. I know of others, who have placed carpeting across walls and ceilings, so they can run laser lites everywhere. That too would make a great video. Lots of energy. Lots. Laughing.

  • I really like how much you love your cats, also how you built all of the play structures for them to make sure they are enriched and happy.

  • Incidentally, what music did you use for your video please?

Just so fitting, and I'd like to use something like that for my own forthcoming video post of my two crazy cats.

    Many thanks,

    StudioComposer

  • this one is called Vildhonung (Wild Honey) by Boot. But the version I have was free on line years ago. Now in I-tunes this version is not quite avaialble.

  • Do you make your own posts? Or can you buy them somewhere if you're not crafty (i.e. lazy).

  • I make my own. A 2x4 with carpet stapled around the back. Sisal is a lot harder to get tight and nail in place every foot or so. I make my own to get good long poles for height. You can buy nice ones including sisal rope and perches. For my budget pre-made poles are pricey, but if this is the only option a hundred dollars for a lifetime of enrichment is WELL worth it. A lot of enrichment is free like boxes, paper bags & your time to create puzzles. For shear conditioning climbing poles are great

  • As always a joy to watch your babies playing. We took our girls in to get fixed today, so hard to see my babies in pain, but glad to see yours playing today and remember ours will be playful again.

  • geusse what mika did to me the other day?.....

She got spooked and sunk her teeth into my arm in 4 different places and made me bleed.

I have little wildcat teethmarks and scabs on my arm now.

  • hope you get better. Certainly biting control can be trained, but sometimes they get spooked. When I play with a cat glove and they get a finger thru the glove it is clear from the bite force a cat is easily able to penetrate down to bone. They can crack chicken bones. They can do some damage if you accidentally get in the way.

PS: I am surprised when Ukee plays she feathers her claws without fail even when excited. Training as a kitten is the best opportunity to engender this in a cat.

  • How much space do they actually require than lets say the average house cat?

  • if you play with them, any size home will do. If I had a small house, I would make sure they have plenty of opportunitites to climb up. Like on to the fridge, or a shelf. Just one vertical pole, and a way to get back down will mean the world to them. And to satisfy their need to explore the cats now wait at any closed door to see whats on the other side. But in a smaller place, boxes, blankets over chairs, any sorts of forts and changes in their environment make for meaningful exploration.

  • That is very true ! I have a crossed breed bengal kitten and I live in a 1bedroom Flat. You will be amazed how clear these creatures are. Even though you don't try to set anything up for them, they will always find a way to explore. My kitten will jump on my bed then side table then window seal then top of wardrobe then balance on top of my bedroom door...hehe also she use the back of chairs as a ladder.

Great to see their video again : ) Keep uploading

  • Yes tri-colored as well. I was going to get 2 marble one male one female but now i like the spotted as well. They are currently in the "fuzzie stage" and the markings are still developing. About a month to go before I can bring them home.

  • they are considered "tri-color brown". Meaning their stripes and swirls are three colors. But, in-fact, Ukee has a white tummy, and Koru has gold and copper glitter (check out my glitter video of photos posted on bangalchatter's "what does glitter really look like" thread) When they are all done there are at least 4 colors, if not 6.

Are yours going to be marble?

  • Beautiful marbles are they tri-colored?. I pick up mine in February in California..nice Video
