If you put Jussi, Luciano, & Enrico on modern technology, Jussi is the only one with NO noise markers in the voice, which I think is really amazing. Once in a Richard Miller seminar they did that, and I think every voice teacher in the room was in awe. I I felt good about that, because as a child, he was my favorite, and the warmth and intensity of this voice makes me weep, which the others don't. I imagine that if there are really angels, they have to take lessons from him.
Latest. This is available on 'Jussi Bjorling Nessun Dorma', a CD by Living era, CD AJA 5472. A version, accompanied by piano only is to be found on 'Jussi Bjorling rediscovered', Carnegie Hall Recital, 1955,
@Jonnybrams Yeah that's the original lyrics. I don't know why Björling chose the lyrics he did. Perhaps some lesser known variant or something of the sort.

@99Gambo Definitely each to their own opinion. Jussi never sings in falsetto in any song I have ever heard in my life from him. John uses a variety of the mixed voices in his songs. They just aren't the same. I don't feel ones better then the other. They are sung quite differently. It simply becomes a matter of taste, not definition of superiority.
I am just glad music has this level of influence. I hear versions of something and I think it's less then stellar. Yet someone on there has held it as their favorite of all time. It just goes to show there is plenty to go around for everyone to go for their dreams, because someone is going to think you're their favorite.
What a wonderful thing is to sail by the recordings of Jussi Björling and to find such charming commentaries!

Absolutely spectacular. Breath taking experience. Jussi and John McCormack are pure singing machines.
I would have paid one years salary to hear him sing that one song in person.

I don't think that John McC's version is nearly as good, but it is an attractive song when delivered by any good tenor.
