ets talk with facts... at 2000 the 125cc gp bikes produce 50 hp and the 500cc with big bang engines 200 hp ( screamer engine nsr500 over 200 hp from 1994 year but undriveable) . at 2009 the 125 cc produce 60 hp so how many power could produce the 500cc class if they still run?? and dont mention about hondas technology we are talking for the other manufactors .. what can the poor and slow 4stroke tecnology do about this? except stealing tecnology from the 2 strokers???
95bhp from a 500cc at 1986 ... if they still produce and always upgrade them what would be the result ? perhaps an 170 or more 500cc stocksport bike but with only a few people could really ride it..
another thing blow you 600cc theory out of the water is that there is video footage of 500cc 2 stroke bikes keeping up with 1000cc 4 stroke street bikes... look it up on here.
Hey I'm thinking about trading my K5 gsxr 600 in for one of these -'85. Think it might be more fun without worrying about breaking the sound barrier. What do you think?
okay, here is something you need to factor in. weight to power ratio. the reason 250 2 strokes are faster than 250 4 strokes is that the motor is 2 times faster than the 4 stroke. 4 stroke fires every 4 rotations, a 2 stroke every two. so when a 2 stroke hits 10,000 rpm a 4 stroke is only doing 5000rpms.
I know all this but do you honestly think a 500 2 stroke is that much faster than a modern F.i. 600. A modern 600 will do 0-100 mph in around 9 seconds, so what will a 500 2t do it in.... 5 secs? LOL... dont think so!!!
Close maybe but better.. dont think so. The power to weight ratio is very similar for both bikes, a 600 has around 110 bhp and weighs around 165 kilos where as the 500 has around 100 bhp and weighs around 150 kilos and has less torque so go figure! Both good bikes and i love the 2t butto say its faster than a 600 is far fetched!
okay this is where your wrong. yes power to weight ration is about the same however, this is using a 25 + year old frame design made of steel. The Yamaha 500cc (3 different versions, steel, steel with a powervalve motor, and a aluminum frame with a power valve motor) gp 2 stroke bikes would leave any new 600 behind. Another thing with simple porting and pipe/carb done to it this thing is pushing 150hp. and there are plenty of dyno proof to back it up. Also, suzuki was the slowest 500cc gp bike.
XD

it should be close yes. and I am talking about a 25 year old a machine here that can compete with modern bikes...

@Perdi83 dude torque at high rpm is horse power and 4 stroke would also rev harder so go figure!

@aussi3212 4 strokes rev harder? are you on crack? make sure to get your facts straight before you make a complete twat out of yourself.
