she is an amazing dancer and I thought it was wonderful!!! The choreography was beautiful and she executed it very well. The ONLY problem I saw was her arms were tucked in for her turns instead of haven't them barreled. Overall you are amazing!!! Keep dancing!!!(:(:

Choreo is true to fosse, which I like! Make sure you keep your back leg straight on leaps and also when you kick. Your stylization was good, but you need more ballet. Like the split at 2:05!

It was trick after trick after trick. Dance the words and pops and the horns, etc. Make it look like your body is creating the music and build your tricks with the intensity of the music. It had my attention until mid way and then I just started counting your tricks. Too many of the same kind of turns, and not nearly enough leaps. Beautiful toes, great legs, nice ending pose. Watch your smile and your arms are a little out of control. Remember to hold your beach ball in your turns.
Brittany Hine's was amazing, when ever I hear this song my brain just goes to her however I enjoyed this because 1. you look more classy, and I can tell that you want to win and your trying unlike Brittany who is going to win either way. Also this isn't a "trick" dance, its refreshing I would love to see your newest solos(:

I love what she did with what she was given.... personally I felt the single posers at around 2 minutes would have fit the mood better if they were turned out (also character was lost a little when she was doing them) ..... but she did amazing with what she was given...... also loved the split "swim through" at 2:07. Good dance ! Very feminin and seductive choreography. Technic needs improvement and a little more precision and dynamic would make the dance better. But I really like it anyway, There is something in this dance that does it to me more than other top competitive jazz dancers we see on youtube who are all about technic and energy.

Actually, my dance teacher performed in "Chicago" on broadway....he's worked with Bob Fosse who is the original choreographer to "Chicago" and since this isn't the actual choreography to the dance, its her own thing so I dont think it matters....I mean, my teacher said, "its Fosse....its SUPPOSED to look limp and sleaky and sexy....thats what jazz IS" but I thought it looks more like ballet-ish....it looks like her arms are in low-first position in ballet which is actually structured IMO
i agree that the dance is supposed to to be sleak and sexy, but jazz isnt all limp and sexy. Thats classic chicago style jazz. All i was saying was she needed to work on her arms in turns and stuff. Lots of jazz dances from the USA these days incorperate ballet arms into turns and jumps and think this distracts from the actual dance having all this strong, sleak sexy dancing then adding light ballet arms. Strong jazz arms for turns would look A LOT better.
Well as I've said, I don't think this girl really cares what we think, seeing as how she actually got somewhere and we did not....I just really dont think it should matter since its her own choreography....its unique, its stylish...if there are things she needs to work on, an actual dance teacher will tell her that.

Some really great ideas here. I cannot believe the comments I am reading about this and that, I hope you kept dancing and will keep dancing for as long as you want. This performance was classy compared to a lot of other stuff out there.
The best.... This girl is only 15 years old and will be in New York City in the near future making a name for herself. Just look for her on stae...She can also sing and act with unparrelled excellence.

Since this was a competition dance, the sexiness does have to be toned down, because you still have to have technique and appeal to the judges. Over all I'd say this is an amazing dance and it was very clean. It was a little repetitive, but I loved it =]

WOW. SO much better than thaty brittany hines girl. But your arms in your chanes could use some work because they look limp and lowers the dances POP :P if i can put it in those words lol. great work. Where did you/her come in the competition?

well yes, it was good, but shes a teenager. brittany hine was only 9 when she did that dance.

no to the point where its looks like she is having a seizure...? haha nah i dont mean it like that. just in the turns and stuff, they dont look strong, i just mean they could use a tad bit of work so they look strong, which is what a jazz dance should look like. thats that i thought was bad about it. If you have seen chicago, their arms arent limp honey...

Actually, my dance teacher performed in "Chicago" on broadway....he's worked with Bob Fosse who is the original choreographer to "Chicago" and since this isn't the actual choreography to the dance, its her own thing so I dont think it matters....I mean, my teacher said, "its Fosse....its SUPPOSED to look limp and sleaky and sexy....thats what jazz IS" but I thought it looks more like ballet-ish....it looks like her arms are in low-first position in ballet which is actually structured IMO

i agree that the dance is supposed to to be sleak and sexy, but jazz isnt all limp and sexy. Thats classic chicago style jazz. All i was saying was she needed to work on her arms in turns and stuff. Lots of jazz dances from the USA these days incorperate ballet arms into turns and jumps and think this distracts from the actual dance having all this strong, sleak sexy dancing then adding light ballet arms. Strong jazz arms for turns would look A LOT better.

Well as I've said, I don't think this girl really cares what we think, seeing as how she actually got somewhere and we did not....I just really dont think it should matter since its her own choreography....its unique, its stylish...if there are things she needs to work on, an actual dance teacher will tell her that.

From the sounds of how you and I BOTH spend a lot of time on youtube (and its easy to tell that you do as well) its obvious that you didnt either. Like I said, this is why nobody wants to go into theater anymore is because of all the destructive criticism. I think its good. No I didnt get anywhere because I only dance for fun. Anyway, I'm done arguing with a screen name. Its just pathetic. I've said what I wanted to....My last comment?

Some really great ideas here. I cannot believe the comments I am reading about this and that, I hope you kept dancing and will keep dancing for as long as you want. This performance was classy compared to a lot of other stuff out there.

I LOVE IT!!!! Coming from a dancer myself and now watching my 11 year old dance, I'm reliving through watching wonderful dancers as yourself and my little girl whom as just now shown that she will be "THAT DANCER" that I prayed for. I will watch this performance as I await the day for my daughter to be old enough to perform to this song:) LOVE IT thank you so much for your dedication to dance and performance and bravo to your choreographer (s)

Since this was a competition dance, the sexiness does have to be toned down, because you still have to have technique and appeal to the judges. Over all I'd say this is an amazing dance and it was very clean. It was a little repetitive, but I loved it =]

i hate that the comments keep coming out about being more sexy... and that you obviously are more of a "ballet and lyrical" dancer because you're not showing a butt load of skin and dancing like a stripper like some of the 9 year olds you see in the videos in the states.... its ridiculous and obscene!

very good point, though i do think that SOME of the comments are just saying this song is more of a basically sexy, slightly slutty dance, as demonstrated in chicago, but this girl is a very talented dancer who has just used maybe the not quite right song.

More my point is that who's to say she's not sexy right now? my point is the sexiness is apparently lost in classy dancing because people only view the gyrating body rolling tramps on stage as sexy nowadays... Since when is it not possible to be sexy and classy at the same time?
Why is this song only allowed to be done in a "trashy" way as opposed to a "classier" sexy tone?

oh you're right... jazz is only allowed to be sexy therefore we should start putting the 5 yr old beginner jazz dancers in string bikinis and tell them to gyrate on stage too... nowhere in the definition of dance does it say they "have" to look like that. If you ask most teachers they will say dance is about many things, but sexiness will not be the in the top 10 of the list of things they will say. I simply gave a comment to the girl in the video applauding her classy style. get over it

Can I ask, apart from being musically accurate, what are the other aspects of appreciation for "good jazz"?
(I started my lesson last week, and found that I knew nothing about jazz actually)
