I have nothing against this artist, Sashi. But some of the BDSS, cyberharassed me just because I questioned their band, hoppin'n boppin' in the background. The "music" was awful, like this piece here. It is TOO much of a bastardization of belly dance as we were taught. Call it anything else but not belly dance! Bob Fosse did pops locks and pelvic grinds would anyone call him a belly dancer? It is crap! It's EZ to "dance" to canned music.

omg i try to learn to dance like her and i fail... so epically, mostly cuz im fat and like my foood.... but she is so amazing her hips draw me in with every pop and drop. and of course i enjoy the 4point hip locks, shes fast!!! she is quickly becoming my idol
@tanuki246 I am over wieght as well and it is the society that u think that u are fat, i believe that you are overwieght but not fat or obesese as most girls already do think that about themselves. Also in other cultures if you are skinny it is unattractive, and the chubbybelly that jiggles is so sexy. so dont limit yourself in what others think, TRY IT AGAIN it really is fun and for some motivation you lose wieght as well, this will make you feel so sexy! trust me!

Wow her moves are amazing! ..im blown away i've seen alot of mediocre dancers who call themselves bellydancers..THIS is real talent. whether its traditional or not she is obviously well learned in tradtional bellydance and incorporated ther own style which is the very definition of innovative art. it captured my attention enough to watch every move until the end and I still wanted to see more. great stuff Sashi
@BellaDanceswithJack Agree here, All styles of expression are valid (as long as no-one is hurt in the process). Do have to add that it is NOT traditional bellydance she is doing. It's an off-shot of ATS which is a modern American dance. However, it is beautiful and very well done.

Some of these comments shock me... first of all, the art of bellydance is expression of culture and celebration of life, women AND men bellydance.
The woman's body is to be celebrated in all its glory, so yes, fat or thin, traditional or new, I embrace all forms of expression of a timeless artform that;s been around for thousands of years. I'm sure the "traditional" style is all a matter of perspective.

It seems to me that classic dancing focuses more on the flow of the body and the passionate style, while this was more about matching the industrial theme and moving the body in a very "unnatural" looking way.

Some of these comments shock me... first of all, the art of bellydance is expression of culture and celebration of life, women AND men bellydance.
The woman's body is to be celebrated in all its glory, so yes, fat or thin, traditional or new, I embrace all forms of expression of a timeless artform that;s been around for thousands of years. I'm sure the "traditional" style is all a matter of perspective.

And if you don't like this style of belly dance then don't look up videos containing it. There are plenty of videos on Youtube that showcase traditional belly dance. Go watch those and leave people alone.

It seems to me that classic dancing focuses more on the flow of the body and the passionate style, while this was more about matching the industrial theme and moving the body in a very "unnatural" looking way.
