  • some cool stuff man

can you show us how you make this applicable to music?

  • @gamnub405 Hey thanks for checking it out. To be totally honest, it might be a long while before I have a minute to put up any further videos expanding on the concept. For now though, I'll tell you it's really more of an exercise to free up your hands, while still playing with accuracy. These aren't necessarily grooves that I would use on a gig (not to say that they couldn't possibly work). It"s more of a tool for developing accuracy in improvisation. Have fun!

  • @DrummingJoe ic... well if that's the case it'll surely do its job.

  • i saw you on the Tommy Igoe LT DVD, you are a good teacher too, when do we spect your DVD, the lesson was really instructive. right now im working alot on the LT warmup its awesome what it does to your playing, and very entertaining, there is a lot to study to do just with this, im from Nicaragua and this groove (tumbao) is all over , not with the permutations of the paradiddle, but sounds alot like soca, but the main groove, is all over. SALUDOS Joe. (saludos = good wishes).

  • @Percussionfish Hi, what a nice comment from Nicaragua! Thanks for checking it out, and I'm glad you like the Tommy Igoe "Great Hands" DVD. Sorry for the late reply here.

  • @DrummingJoe Hehe! no problem! glad you got the time to give feedback, yes the DVD is great its been 6 months since i started it, i still getting used to th eintermediate version, though , i love how if you can make the basic is about practicing individually and eventually add to the group, right now im working on the flam paradiddle combo, its sick but beautyful if done right, question: how much time did you take to learn and be able to do go over the advanced? i dont wanna take it too fast...

  • very nice! and weird cause I have been doing the same thing, only using a samba bd/hh pattern AND playing the pattern 4 measures on the right side of my body and then on the left side. Can;t wait to try the Tumbao pattern.

I go to the denton jazz festival every year and am getting ready to post a montage of all 9 lab band drummers. Tried to get Soph to give me some private lessons, but no dice. going to the abersold camp this summer and hope he is there.

will check out your other videos.

  • awesome thank you...

  • How is the td-20 ? Guessing awsome, how much did you pay for that beast ? So you can choose existing cymbals models ! man great instrument !

  • Hi, brilliant grooves. Thanks. I'll get working on them right away. What are the cymbals on the right hand hi hat?

  • Thanks for the nice comment! I'm glad you're inspired to practice. To answer your question, the sound assigned to the ride pad is #299: '14" Dark HH', unmodified. Thanks for watching.
