  • without weight

  • Evidently this type of system relys on a hi tech flywheel that may even carry f1 rpm plus with a semi perpetutal booster electric upon itself. The alternater maybe a new low resistance type. A balanced gain net from driven electric motor via flywheel generater and usage on the booster to maintain apprecitive momentum to charge the battery to even power propulsion addtitional force. New hitech less costage composite flywheel with booster that net gains with greater flywheel weight-maybe diff sys

  • General ideas that any enterprising person is of worth when new; however, implementation is another matter. Usually requires a team of experience engineers to make it come out end resulter correct and working and especially last. It is a job well done that generals knock off. Just like top 40 musian artist better than the rest. High quality streamlined and experienced work. Machining out a new autotrans from general idea will fail most except industry experts who are in the know. Beautiful KERS

  • KERS mainstay since this form is hybrid propulsion based may have a high light in alternater technology. Short duration drivetrain usage upon braking requiring no cost on engine power to reciprocate the alternater to charge maybe to quick charge new type of battery that can maintain cell disassociation due to quick braking sequence time of charge with compensatory higher charge along with superior flywheel to propagate continuous momentum even after braking. Should have better efficientcy-hybrid

  • Very interesting technology. No cost braking enegry. I submit an idea to better utilize kers for car application. Maybe a separate piston chamber for high degree of air compression from braking driven air compressor to at least reduce engine reciprocating resistance upon throttling. In sense instead of running an electric motor tack on- an air expansion additonal smaller air driven piston engine for start off acceleration. Pure mechanical. Other no cost generated push force application can.

  • All of you are bloody idiots. Formula means a set of rules. And 4WD was banned in 1982. Banning aside, engineers are fighting over the weight of washers...how are you going to convince them to add 75 pounds to the machine just to gain a relatively negligible boost in mid speed cornering?

  • could you imagine if they would let this drive the front wheels??? talk about acceleration off corners lol

  • @565Customz~ u dont understand.... it would get understeer with 4WD.

  • @marek0086 not hardly!!! understeer comes from the front end "sliding" or not grabbing...not a problem with a ton of downforce

  • @565Customz~ yes i know what understeer is!!

In fact u get better turning with RWD.

  • @marek0086 nvm...your missing the point....

formula one cars cant put all the power down until the downforce is there to maintain traction at the rear wheels. with awd...you would get twice the traction so you could floor it out of the corner.s

  • @565Customz~ Im not missing the point. U just dont know what you're talking about.

Its twice as many drive wheels!..... which doesnt equal twice as much traction!

  • @marek0086 OMG,.....dude...900 horsepower divided between 4 wheels will give you MORE TRACTION than 900 horsepower going to 2!!!! you might still have the same OVERALL traction but you have more availble contact area to put the power down...does that clarify enough for you?

  • Simple , the motor on the gearbox drives into the transmission so adding to the power from the engine. To add 60 BHP from the Kers system means around 45 KW of electrical energy is being handled by that system , quite impressive considering how compact it is ! Buses should definitely use Kers due to all the energy that could be recovered in frequent stop starting.

  • @turboslag~ this KERS in F1 is such a joke!

Save energy in F1 is like pissing in the ocean to try to top it up!

  • How does giving electricity to the gear box give you more horse power?

  • An electric motor on the gearbox...

  • me gustaria visitar un taller de f1 esta buenisimo

  • n = and

What I meant is that the KERS in F1 looks like a combination of flywheel and regenerative braking.

  • Also used in the 2009 Mercedes S-Class.

  • basically flywheel n regenerative braking?

  • by 'n' i guess you mean is. so yes, it is

  • Thanks!

  • I was wondering what KERS was. I had an idea but i understand better now. But it does have down sides right. I heard it reduces the fuel tank and adds extra weight, both of which are definitely not needed in an F1 car, should be a good F1 year

  • it doesn't add extra weigth, tanksize maybe.

They have xtra weight in te car to get to 605kg.

They can't move as much around with that if they use kers.

That's 25 kg, that is stuck and can't be moved to the centre bottom or something like that.

  • Great! =D

  • thank you.

  • Thanks!

Excellent good video of what has KERS!
