Hi I'm using cubase5 but Halion doesn't show up as a midi output like it does in this video any ideas?

Only thing I will use this program for is bass ... Be a good start kit for basslines ... Other then that il use my piano to make my own flows and grooves . I wish this had MIDI control so when I pressed the keys on my Piano it would respond with Catanya VST

@SimplisticSalvatioNI I use Cubase too, are you in 64bit ? Plug ins like this will only work in Cubase 32-bit. Hopefully Cubase fixes this issue soon.

So I have to play the cords and then copy past into the other channel for Catanya Vst to work ... Now you said you can play the Piano and Catanya will response on the fly ?

@SimplisticSalvatioNI Ok this is what I do. I got to the devices menu, then Vst instruments and then select catanya and assign it to its own midi channel. Then I add my piano on an instrument track, then assign the input of the instrument track to catanya midi out. Then I just enable record on both tracks and start playing.

Go to the vst folder and check that that file is stored in the same folder as the Catanya.dll. If it is there, I don't know what's wrong.

@KritaYuga Well I did a clean install to see how this works and now Fl studio crashes every time I use 2 Vsts !! I will try Cubase tomorrow so far im having bad luck with this program .. I just got this pc built and it runs great so I know its not a power thing . 1300 on PC parts and all my other vsts work perfectly

@KritaYuga ok I found got it to work on 64bit Cubase ! I had to copy the DLL. and the preset.CM file into the Cubase Vst folder and then Boom its working .

I also use Cubase 5. You can install both 32bit and 64bit versions of C5 on 64bit W7. And use this plugin in the 32bit version. Don't insert this plug-in in an instrument track. Press F11 and load it there.

Not really. You need to specify chord progressions, choose instruments to be used and create main melodies yourself. It is just an areggiator with lots of pre-defined patterns. It's useful as an inspiration tool or arrangement support tool. But it doesn't compose. You probably don't understand the concept of the product.

@KritaYuga then explain to me ... So far by the videos il I see is presets . I do understand some produce music some play interments some sing and so on . but from the video I got a bad impression . Seems like all I was buying is a preset - or music that's already made . If they had a Demo for this program I would try it .

@SimplisticSalvatioNI Yeah they have a demo version. Some features are restricted but you can see what sort of tool it is. You can also save your own patters and export patterns as MIDI data and modify it as you like. So it can be used pretty creatively.

@KritaYuga no go on the demo ... I have windows 7 64 bit and it doesn't work ! Not about reinstall windows just to down grade to 32 bit . I have 10 Gigs in my pc and if I want to 32 bit I would only use 3.40 GIGs out of 10 so no thank-you . Maybe these guys will get 64 bit software soon .

@KritaYuga but its not working for me ... My pc was built from the ground up only 4 months ago so hardware should not be a problem right ? Also I am using Cubase 5 and all other Vst's work .... All my hardware synths work everything works this program will not load right and I tried both Dll files in Program files and 86 program files .

@weegerri1sm yes, have same problem, a workaround is to record the out of sync midi, then quantize it, or if your DAW allows it to quantize in realtime.

composing has more to do with melody and the chord progressions itself, than the simple appregio's played on a chord....Even if you can compose them, not not everyone can play them that fast or may be convert appregios manually to each chord you use . I tend to use alot of chords, my playing is pretty slow, so i usually program in the appregios and then manually the appregio to be adapted to all chords. However, it's quite a boring job to do, especially with piano rolls and such

This is a genious arpeggiator. I'm definitely getting it. My question is, can you import short midi files and turn them into arpeggios? If so, that would make it so much faster to program. And there would be no limit to the possibilites.
