just 2 inconveniences about this phone.

1. windows mobile

2. screen quality (resolution and touch capabilities)

The first one can easily be solved with spb mobile shell.

Appart from that, great machine, lots of apps, everything worked, the people telling "shit" about this phone just doesn't know how to take advantage of it.

before you insult people maybe you should realize that the phone is offered on more than one carrier and different carriers may require you to have a data plan. besides, its pointless to have a smart phone without a data plan.

yea, and how much charges does he rack up? i dont know how the pay as you go plans work, but on a normal plan, without a data plan, if you actually use a phone like this as its intended(email and web applications) and not just to have it for the sake of having a fancy looking phone, you will rack up a huge bill the way they charge for mb usage. a week of web browsing would easily rack up a $30 charge AT LEAST.

and you don't need a $70 data plan. the unlimited email and web plan is 29 bucks

Yeah he has it on pay as you go, with it you can buy cards that let you get internet if you want, which he hardly uses because again he has a laptop, also most of the applications on the omnia are pretty much useless.

i suppose it could be prone to viruses, but only if you are downloading 3rd party apps from a sketchy source. It's just like a computer as long as your are careful you should be ok. Mine has never gotten a virus and I have multiple 3rd party apps downloaded. I suppose just use common sense when downloading such things.

a plan for the omnia will likely run you about $70 a month becasue you have to buy the data plan. that is how much i pay right now. i have unlimited calling and texts to any carrier. I also get a 10% discount through my company so Im not sure exactly what you would pay but i would guess somewhere between 70 and 90 dollars. kind of expensive but 100% worth it with this phone. spend a little time getting to know how it works and you will LOVE it!
