  • @Artzman01:

Roger is STILL a brilliant lyricist - Dave Gilmour is STILL one of the greatest guitarists who's ever lived - They ain't dead yet man!!

  • Roger is to Floyd what Lennon was to The Beatles. There is no substitute for genius.

  • With Roger's vision, imagination, and lyrics, David's singing and legendary guitar work, these guys forged a band which will go down in history as one of the best bands ever. I regret Syd wasn't able to maintain stardom, and the rift between Rog and Rick (and later, David too) was ugly, but all in all, Pink Floyd is the most fascinating band I've ever heard. By far my favorite!

  • I love this interview

  • roger was a brilliant lyricist, one of the best in music history, and a brilliant bass player, david was a beautiful singer and one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived... the fact the band lasted for 30 odd years is a testiment to the music... think about it this way, how many bands lasted even 5 years let alone 30, yes its a shame they broke up but its no ones fault, people change and grow... sometimes apart

  • They were and are BOTH great. The best at what they do. Never understood why so-called Pink Floyd fans feel the need to take one's side over the other. The band would not have been nearly as successful without either one, Waters or Gilmour. I love them all. And everything they did together and separately. Pure genius.

  • @Teramydog

well Roger sold more than David Gilmour...

if you mean out of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters then of course Pink Floyd did, but that's a largely due to the fact that they used the name Pink Floyd and not many people knew Roger Waters name shortly after the split.

  • @Teramydog Pink Floyd has been about selling records who wrote dsotm, the wall and wywh? Roger they would have been nothing after syd if it was not for Roger!

  • Roger Waters is, in my opinion, is the greatest song writer...ever. The Wall is the best thing I've ever heard. Untouchable in genius and composition.

  • amazing,,, thanks pal for posting

  • hes brilliant dont care what anyone says about roger hes better than gillmore

  • Why and how do you compare?

They both supplied *essential* parts to a mystifying, life changing, superlatively creative band.

  • Sorry i gave u a thumbs down & i thought i was thumbs-up... my bad... Rog ( or is it REG ) has written dam near everything since Dark Side !!!!! He is BRILLIANT OR A GENIUS

  • listen for the chicken at 1:25

  • Thank you, this was amazing.

For some reason I don't have a hard time believing the things he's said about David and Rick.

    No Waters...no thinking.

  • Roger was the real Floyd within Floyd. Gilmour just replaced Syd's guitar. All his solo projects aren't great and the latter Floyd stuff is pretty much pants, and so with Pro's & Con's taking the lead as the best post Floyd work ... Rog is one up.

  • on an island is awesome...

  • He was the genius of the band, songwriting, creator, lead singer! But he was not all of Floyd! The other members and especially Gilmour help to make it what it was. His voice, brilliant lead guitar, and co lead vocalist! Waters solo albums were not Floyd either and they werent popular! Pink Floyd was a band, they needed each other but no doubt without Waters they NEVER would have found legendary success! They would have been a forgotten 60's psychedelic band!

  • is it MONEY, grandpa ?

you HAVE to tour to ends meet ?

  • no its just that the grandkids love the work as much as the kids from my generation. but i must say there are some of the younger musicians that are starting to show some promise. even a guy that's 40 something likes some of the younger stuff lately. and music is big enough to share. peace. :)

  • Go listen to more of the Jonas Brothers, shithead.

Pink Floyd rocks more than ANY of those shitty emo bands you listen to.

  • ROFLMFAO@jonas bros

  • This shows Roger in complete contrast to recent interviews. In this he's an arrogant prig, slagging off Dave and Rick for things they never did, and carefully glossing over his periods of egomania, e.g. the making of The Final Cut. Now he's much more seasoned and empathetic, now that he and Dave are 'on amicable terms'

  • no no ego huh ha ha ,,

  • roger was floyd and is unreal. pros and cons is underrated . all songs are good on it

  • no gilmour no floyd

  • no kenny, no problem with continuity

  • thankyou for putting this interview up. where is it from?

  • No me, No comment on this little section.

  • No tea, no YouTube.

  • no waters, die of thirst

  • No floyd...no barber shop

  • No Gilmore... No Women No Cry..

  • No Barret... No Pink.. No Waters No Pink Floyd...
