I'd like to say two things, the first relevant and the second not:
1. this was really great in my opinion! I came to this video after I searched for the 2880. I think this is very unique and I loved it! Very original and good time keeping!
2. Your face reminds me of Robin Williams, especially as that doctor in "Awakenings". :P
Could you make a video showing your feet using the 2880 as well? What is your opinion of the machine? I am debating if to get one or not.
@polishbroadcast - i've never tried any other synths, and i haven't had a lot of time playing with this unit yet - hopefully i'll get back on it this summer. the tracking is great on the d-g-b-e strings, but takes very precise playing technique for the E and A strings. playing with the individual string sensitivity settings can eliminate the double notes, but at the expense of relying of a heavier thumb technique and having a slightly narrower dynamic range.
@jazzviolao Thanks for the reply. The GI-20 is a pitch to MIDI box like the AX50 and i was wondering if the AX50 works better but it sounds like you haven't tried the Roland. I think you made the right choice though since the Axon is generally regarded as the stronger performer. Thanks for posting this song.
How do i get them empty? I know i can erase them using the punch in button. But this is ok if you're in a studio. what about if you're playing live.....?
@luigina74 If you have a MIDI foot controller like the Behringer FCB1010 you can send mutes to individual tracks or select a specific track and do record new.
@polishbroadcast - oh, wow... i never bothered to read the MIDI section of the EHX 2880 manual until just now. been working on migrating to ableton live/SooperLooper/FCB1010. i might have to give the 2880 another try with the FCB1010. very cool.
@jazzviolao The MIDI section was a later addition from when they fixed the MIDI slave tempo bug. I tried to use Ableton for looping but it was too kludgey and latency made it difficult (at least with guitar).
@polishbroadcast - if you're running ableton on a mac, try j. chappell's open source program/plug-in called sooperlooper. i have it set up to sync to ableton's metronome (for headphone monitoring of tempo), and to auto-quantize to every other downbeat, so that i can record and end recording by hitting the footswitch at any time up to 2 beats before i want it to click in. this makes it easy to use tempo-dependent effects in ableton, too. downside is that tempo is preset.
@jazzviolao - continued - the big upside for me, and the big reason i've been building an ableton/sooperlooper-based rig, is that i can create multiple independent multi-channel loops of varying lengths, such that i can switch between and independently build/mix song sections of any length (verse, chorus, & bridge, for example). i'm far from having a polished setup yet, though... not enough time in the day.

Nice work. How do you find the Axon tracks? Have you tried the Roland GI-20 in the past? I have the GI-20 and i get lots of doubled notes.

hi guys,
one question:
after the mixdown the 4 tracks are still full.
How do i get them empty? I know i can erase them using the punch in button. But this is ok if you're in a studio. what about if you're playing live.....?

This is what I'm attempting to do. I have a Line6 looper that is impossible to work with. Looks like it is a EH 2880 for me.
Great demo. Keep up the good work. Nice tune. PEACE
