  • I love the little boy who rides with no hands!

  • Cristoforo Colombo never reached North America. He stopped into Caribbean Isles thinking he reached India. His fault was to discover America and be slave to the Spanish's thirst of gold. White people really destroyied everything and now we are living the consequences and keep on destroying. Please, let's try to stop it! Hope TASHUNKA WITCKO lives again and next U.S.A President to be a Native American.

  • Great video. You know I never really thought about it, but why is there no Holiday for a great Indian? They have holidays for blacks (Martin Luther King). Why not one for some great Indian. After all look at how us white people have abused the Indians. That is a terrible thing. There is even a holiday for a terrible man (Columbus Day). Do some research on him. He would feed the natives to his dogs if they did not bring him enough gold. I was shocked to find this out..........God Bless

  • Long live Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, Geronimo and all the Indian Warriors who fought for their way of living. Nice Video, beautiful songs and horses. Good job whoever that made this video. Where can I get some of these songs, specially the last one?

  • Crazy Horse Day? How about June 25th?

  • It has to be Sept 6th. The day he died.

  • actually we want Sept 5th. The books are all wrong. The elders say he died just before midnight on the 5th.

  • Oh. Eli and Chubbs both told me the 6th Jim. No worries. Main thing is we get the support and the ok by the senators.

  • oops. you are right. my bad. the ride is the 2,3,4,5, ceremony on sixth. The books say the 7th. duh.

  • Thats because the author of the book rides a donkey and cant keep up with us! LOL No worries Jim.

  • First Nation culture is looking like a better alternative to what we now have every day. Their damage to the land - ZERO! Thanks.

  • Good video an honesty that will uniformly appeal to all those who decidedly choose to love mother earth for all she has bore most kindly its time to give back what we have unfairly divided. Peace onto all and for all.

  • very beautiful. thank you so very much

  • great video, it is encouraging to see people who still honour the old ways and those who have come before........

  • can i join????

  • This video will open one's eyes to the legacy of the Lakota. It is an important piece of history that cannot be underestimated.

  • I second that motion with danae53. Not just a one day National Indian Day but a whole week would be nice with ceremonies/dancing/singing and a festival would be nice. Com'on what do you say Native Americans?

  • This video besides being interestin', remembers the old ways of the grandfathers and that is also something good! tlazcamati for sharin' this most awesome vid John! btw, 5 stars!

  • I agree absolutely with thefellasmusic: everyone should watch and learn from your videos.

    Thanks. Thanks for teaching us.

  • The only way that change will occur is recognition of what truly has an effect and a switch in polarized thinking. Crazy Horse and all of the others are the archetype of the necessary change. Honoring their contribution would bring about a refocusing of those values. The self sacrifice, the love, and the true understanding of warriorship and what that REALLY means. Bless their memories.

  • There should be a day of honor and recognition for all of the great First Nations leaders. For Crazy Horse, Chief Joseph, Goyathlay (Geronimo), Quannah Parker, Osceola, to name but a few. These men were representative of leadership FOR THE PEOPLE and a complete absence of personal ambition. Ego did not exist for them. Ego is the reason that the current political climate is itself hostile to the people. Politicians with personal ambition corrupt...disastrously. Next post

  • John and Junior...you will always be in our hearts. Never forgotten.

  • Another great video. Thanks ~*~

  • This honors Crazy Horse and all of the riders and supporters who attend. Make 6 Sept. a national holiday in honor of Tasunke Witko.

  • Is Tasunke Witko, Lakotah for Crazy Horse?

  • Yes it is Jose.

  • I have given up all the Christian holydays I was raised with, so I have lots of room for new ones. (smile) September 6th is day for Crazy Horse; I will start celebrating on the 6th and go until the 13th, that's my b-day. Wonderful video and went to web sight too; will spread the word for help for the school. Again, wonderful video, the music makes my eyes flood. (blushes)

  • Good purpose... and definitely, if there is so many traditions that make no sense, there must be one to remember the Native Peoples of this Land of America and cherish their lives.

  • This is a wonderful film! All should watch and learn!

  • A holiday for Crazy Horse has been declared in my house

  • I attend this ride and it is for a real good cause. This dvd is great...worth buying.

  • Really great video!!! 5*!!

  • Hey...Canadian Ojibway here visiting I liked your Vid. What was the song called near the end with the native singing voice?

  • not sure which one you mean...the last one was Wilmer Mesteth just voice and drum the one before with the music was called ''wishes for happiness and prosperity'' by brave..

    thnx

  • ''wishes for happiness and prosperity'' this was the one thank you

  • deez people on dis are my klete fruendz

  • do you really think that anybody watching this video and who has a brain would really want to watch your web site of naked girls!? Get a life Mikeyqv489!

  • Im proud to have been part of this ride in the past and pleased Jim has released this on dvd for others to learn from. Great video! John Wind

  • If you read world history you will see a strange pattern. Invasion, genocide and exploitation on every continent on this our mother Earth. What happened here is the latest example of colonization, this process is never pretty and always bad for the colonized. Look at Ireland, England, Scotland, ect, so many countries taken over by a foriegn power and the local inhabitants suffered.

  • Great video and worth buying. Its not just about a bunch of riders..it's about spirituality of Life,Love for our Mother, Respect for all Life forms, Honor to our great leaders who died fighting for "true" freedom. These are the things this video represents. It is the reason the riders do this. I recommend this dvd and honor those connected to it. Ohola. John Wind

  • Puritans and quakers settled the new england area to do what? FARM. german and scandinavian immigrants came to the midwest to do what? FARM Anglo-saxan immigrants came to the south east to do what? FARM

What do you see in most of the land that isn't urbanized? FARMS!!!!!

  • and farmers aren't exactly rolling in money either. Because the government doesn't give a damn about them either. Most whites don't agree with what happened to the Indians. But there really isn't much they can do about it. they can't even get the higher class minority to pay them better for the foods that they bust their asses all year to make. It seems like you might want to reconsider your sources.

  • you may not realize it man but you are representing a very onesided version of the story. And I'm originally from north midwest in northdakota right next to a rezervation. so don't be so presumptous to assume that I don't know or I don't care. But my family and many others DID come to farm. I don't know what makes you think that they didn't. believ it or not most whites did NOT come here with the intentions of wiping out the indians.

  • this is actually part three so start reading two below

America, and especially the ''opening of the west'' was and is, now more than ever, built on greed. At any cost. Read about the Papal Bulls and what Columbus was truly here for. Read about the lie of Lewis and Clark and the true reason for their expedition to the west. The list goes on and on.

I thank you all for debate and comments but please look into things before you do.

    Thanks

  • Pine Ridge was established as a P.O.W. camp and still is. You have no idea what government imposed poverty and repression and oppression is until you experience it first hand. America is not the ''land of the free'' unless ALL people are free. I suggest you read ''American Holocaust'' for starters. What this country perpertrated against it's indigenous peoples is more horrible than what Hitler did to the Jews. That is a fact.

  • hello

just saw all these recent comments to my video.

must say you all need to study and research further.

the comment about ''white settlers trying to farm the land'' proves you need to. There is so much wrong about that statement I cannot even begin here to explain. If you feel so inclined to state something like that here, then you should also feel so inclined to research and back yourself up. It borders on ignorance.

    more in next comment...

  • and how is it wrong to say whites farmed. Whites still farm. My family are farmers. I don't see how thats a wrong statement. grain is the backbone of this countries economy. The government had other plans. but most settlers came here to farm and grow food for their families. just cause some came during the gold rush but MOST came to farm. They came because of the homestead act. And those that didn't come to farm came to work in the factories in the cities.

  • I like it when I see people kiss and make up. lol. Go for it guys. Regards: John

  • And I understand where youre coming from also. What the american government and the military (not the whole white race) has done was wrong and very unnecessary. And it's even worse that natives must live on a destitude rez. It's not a fate worthy of the descendents of some of the bravest warriors the world ever saw.

  • very true.

  • I'm not making excuses or justifications, but I am giving reasons. You can't blame the natives for not wanting whites on their land. but you can't blame white settlers for trying to farm the land when there was no land left to farm in europe.

  • I am firm beliver that killing is wrong. But people of nations and ethnicities still do it in order to survive. The world is not black and white like people say. Its grey.

  • the world is really grey huh? and the sky is green right?

  • All you know about is the publiciced popular version of the story. Do some research. if you wanna see some parts of the story than read about fort parker, or the expedition into the hudsen. where simple farmers and cartogrophers where attacked killed. Now I beer no hatred for either whites or natives, or any other group of people. But if you choose to be ignorant than I have nothing left to say to you. Good day.

  • and if you choose to be narrow minded, i guess have absolutely nothing to say to you Mr Excuses!

  • please, do not put words into my mouth, i am not trying to encourage whites to be ashamed of their heritage. i do not blame whites today for what over a hundred years ago. i donot bear hatred for anyone either. i just do not believe in making excuses

  • If nobody needed food or shelter to survive than there wouldn't be any problems today. I never said that what whites did was right, I don't see it as two peoples locked in some epic struggle. Its just another example of how HUMAN nature (regardless of ethnicity) tends to mess things up.

  • i do understand where you are coming from.

  • Yes what many whites did was wrong. I know what i'm saying isn't POLITICALLY correct but I don't give a damn. cause its correct period.

  • your second comment makes no sense period.

  • And when you consider that they are all different cultures and peoples that couldn't seem to understand eachother, than thats how conflict starts. And its not like the natives just welcomed whites. they where just as determined to wipe out whites as whites where to wipe out indians. (not that you can blame the indians for not wanting share but you can't blame whites for not staying in overcrowded europe where they had no chance)

  • tiny Europe? and that gives them the right to ruthlessly take whatever they wanted, right? how can you expect them to willing share the land with people who cramped them on reservations.

  • please save your tiny europe, the starving white man, and overcrowded europe for someone who cares. for all we know, the whites took what they wanted, whenever they wanted without a second thought as to hurting some people in the process

  • please, when giving excuses give tangible ones.

  • Don't be so naive trudycassie. You live in the U.S. you know just as well as I that all the white people cant go back to europe. Cause they wont fit. But you obviously choose to be ignorant and stick to youre close minded liberal views trying to encourage whites to be ashamed of their heritege and only seeing things in black and white.

  • i am not ignorant NateAnderso, i just choose not to make excuses. i believe in taking responsibility of ones actions and not trying to point fingers at both sides as you been doing.

  • I am saying that you couldn't have just told whites to stay in tiny europe. So they went to other continents. whites needed the land to support their families and indigenous people everywhere needed it for them. Now whites wheren't willing to share, but nobody else wanted to share their land with a bunch of pasy hairy white people.

  • also I think I made myself clear earlier when I said that it is important to remember the past. and that i'm not trying to forget what happened.

  • get a grip on it,however you try to reason. if a man comes in your home and tells you your less than him, then starts to murder your family, thats clearly wrong.

  • What happened at wounded knee was terrible. I'll admit. It's good to remember the past but sobbing in it does absolutly no good for anybody. Whats important is present. Where life on the rezervation involves extreme poverty and something needs to be done. ( not that this video has anything to do with sobbing, it's very good) My comment has more to do with recent coments.

  • believe it or not there is such a thing as "iinocent people." everybody needed the land;yeah right!

  • No there is no such thing. And everybody did and needs land to live on. Whites came here starving and desperate they had nowhere else to go. Natives Felt we didn't deserve it And vice versa. it takes two to tango friend. And all the worlds problems aren't soly due to "the white man" and his guilt.

  • millions of "innocent people", of differrent races have suffered gravely at the hands of whites, this is something that should never be downplayed or forgotten.but you are right, the present is what is important, however, so is the past.

  • Hikerman4u: Check out on You Tube for further "facts" THROUGH LAKOTA EYES. An excellent dvd documentary on the truth of things. Indian Country Today newspaper is also a good read, and the A.I.M. web site is good too. By the way, those facts below were also printed in a national newspaper.

  • I am talking about Pine Ridge Rez. The facts are from BIA and Tribal Office. High majority there drive wrecks or have no cars at all. The facts I wrote are truth and THAT IS POVERTY my friend. Go and check it out for yourself. You may want to express yr feelings on the Rez radio: KILI, and see what response you receive. Good luck!

  • Hoka Hey!

Thanks btltez for posting this inspirational video.

What a great idea to honour one of the greatest Lakota leaders. I was glad to see young people participating as well.

  • Your video is great!!! As a descendant of a great nation, you have something to be proud of. As a white person, i have to tell you that my folks can only look back on a long criminal record of broken treaties, useless killings, theft and lies.

    Keep fighting!

  • this is real kool...

  • This vidoe is very powerful....after being a cree runner across canada i know what these poeple....i have many prayers and hopes for this video....to my native brothers around indain country

  • ad

  • huh? what is ad??

  • It was nothing, my computer wasnt working properly. What I wanted to say was Custer was a piece of shit, and is responsible for thousands of innocent deaths. He was worse than Hitler. If I ever went to Custers grave again I would take a shit on it. Cuz thats what he is, a piece of shit.

  • im not native in anyway...but i loved this film...the whole custer battle...i think was a little over kill...i mean anyone can win a fight when ur out number 8-1..like the whole sioux nation..the cheyennes and others ...i know they where pissed at custer..but hes only doing what he was orderd to do..he didnt personally hate the indians..haveing said that what he did wasnt right...tho i do think if custer had the rest of his command he coulda maby won... and i think he held out good numbered 8-1

  • um...no...custer was an arrogant, ego maniac who wanted the gold in the black hills. Custer's scouts told him not to attack at Little Big Horn, but he went in anyway. His arrogance killed him. But his 7th got there revenge at Wounded Knee, killing over 300 innocent, un-armed women and children.

but thanks for your comments, it is appreciated.

  • Keep in mind the men in his 7th where not related to the one the ones that served under custer. I don't know if their motive was revenge or not. As whites and indians have their own version of the story. And its hard to know which one to beleive.

  • It's not just Custer... it is a long history of whites thinking themselves superior and therefore having the right (with Bible in hand -can you believe it?) to kill off indians, take their land, drive them from place to place like cattle, forcing them to adapt to white ways of life and then denying them a proper place in their society. America is built upon broken treaties. Sorry for being so bitter, but often i am ashamed i am white.

  • wich i totally agree..however..it is still going on today...and i dont mean to offend any native americans..but the goverment to make up for it give them free education free houseing..no taxes(im not sure if this is the same in the U.S.A) and they still blame everything on whites (again NOT ALL!!!) i just think that its time people started taking responsiblility for themselves..

  • This 'making up' is like stealing 1,000 dollars from a person & then handing him your small change in return. I call this a rippoff. IT IS A SHAME.

First taking almost everything from the Native people, then leaving them with almost nothing to fend for themselves. With such a setback it isn't easy to 'take responsibility for themselves'. The profits of the dvd of this documentary is btw meant to built a school! So they are taking responsibilities...

  • for"jeremyorr" Pine Ridge:1)62% of houses have more than two families living in them. 2)Majority of houses have no running water, toilets, baths. 3)Housing maintenence is poor to nil. 4)People without children cannot access housing, so many single people are homeless.5)Many houses are mere shacks.6)nepotism is a job qualifier. 7)63% unemployment keep the nation in poverty.8)cancer rate is ten times over the national average. 9)Diabetes has increased by 333%.

  • do u live in canada?

  • No I dont live in Canada. I am Tate Ti Ospaye, Lakota Nation and a member of AIM.

  • sweet... ur ansestors whipped out custer with the help of cheyennes i like the sioux nation ( mostly hunkpapa )

  • Where did you get your statistics from? My question is this: If there is poverty on any reservation, then why many people can afford material things and drive nice car?

  • Hikerman: Sending you good wishes, health and happiness for the coming seasons. All the best: John

  • "jeremyorr" the list below is just a few of the facts that exsist on Pine Ridge. The government once told the Lakota "Come to the reservations and we will look after all your needs". This list shows HOW they are being cared for. Space restriction prevents me writing more. But this so called free education and housing does not make things right. It is not even a start..nor is it justice.

  • well what i cant understand ( again i like native more then most white people ) but on the news a while back..natives wanted to hunt the old way..but wanted to use modern technology..its just seems like they wanted everything .. and then u see others in gangs and stabbing people cause you looked at them wrong and other drunk on listerine ect im not trying to be mean but its the truth..

  • Jeremyorr...how you doing my friend? Hope all i well. John

  • the awakening season is upon us. I wish you and your family and loved ones good health and happiness. All the best jeremyorr. John

  • We must understand that the conflict between whites and Indians was very complicated. When the subject is brought up whites don't like to mention Wounded Knee. But Indians don't like to mention Fort Parker either. Suffice it to say that atrocities where commited by both sides and the conflict was due to failure of two peoples to understand and appreciate eachother. Whites and Indians alike must realize this in order to truly learn from the past mistakes and apply it to a better future.

  • how dare you accuse this innocent people of atrocities. the only crime they are guilty of was fighting to preserve their freedom and the land. the whites in their greedy quest almost ran these beautiful to extinction. it is the whites who did not apprecaiate other race and saw them as inferior. besides history tells us the whites were violent, liars and self-fish. so don't you there stand there and accuse these people of something they are not guilty of.

  • First of all "innocent people" no such thing. And if you wanna bring up land. I'll tel you right now that EVERYBODY needed, needs, and will need the land. I would recomend that you study up on some things you might be suprised. I'm not trying to justify what the "whites" did. I'm just saying that Nobody was completely innocent. Variety in Cultures can be good. But often times it leads to strife. And good people can to some terrible things.

  • im cuyuga native (6 nations) i also enjoyed ur video!!! great work!!! i remember stories about crazey horse...he's sooo kool!!!!!

    ~Alie~

  • I am a Canadian Ojibway Indian & I really enjoyed your video I will tell people here too watch it excellent video

  • this is an Awesome trailor. I would love to see wounded knee & pay my respects to the brave people who died there at the hands of the soldiers. I admire the Lakota people more than any other native tribe... if I could, I'd go back in time & kill Custer w/my own hands before he murdered so many of them... I agree that This video should be seen by all Americans... Peace

  • thank you. u can purchase the dvd at www.redheartonline.com all money goes to helping lakota youth on the rez. we are trying to build a school.

  • damn great video..lakota born..woohoo much love and respect

  • great video lakota pride to the fullest..

  • Awesome. Thanks.

  • This video should be seen by all Americans. The legacy of Crazy Horse is more than just historical, it is inspirational. The reverence of these Lakota was moving to see. The music in the video was hauntingly beautiful.
