Just because the temperature of the flame exceeds the melting point of iron doesn't mean you can actually melt iron around the house.

This torch barely supplies enough heat to melt a thin iron wire. There's no way it could ever melt anything bigger than that.

Heat and temperature are two different things laymen can't distinguish.

@Supermassively butane that doesn't agree with the lighter...at least that's sort of how my colibri lighter reacts to the two premium butane cans I've tried using in it. Except I had to light it with a separate source...that or more likely they turned up the flame adjuster and there's a little nob behind the spring which you push forward and turn to change to a soft flame, so maybe something to do with that.
