Check out youtube video titled "Akai MPK mini - modifying the pads sensitivity", nopad2 can be modified same way.Mine is working great after I did this
@DjEckaFlow I don't remember. Seriously, I would not buy this, unless they improved them or something. I only used it once to try it out. It's garbage.
@TMACONDATRACK The Nanopad 1 had a major issue with pads not working. Not sure if it's the same problem. Many people got caught up in thinking it's software or drivers, but it was just non-operative pads. If you have something where you can see if the pads are sending midi signals, such as the little midi in-out indicator in my Sonar you can use that to see if they are working.
@coronet67 At the moment Im using Reason with a naopad 2 and a microkey. The way I have it set up is: Under the keyboard and controls 1) select korg as manufactuer 2) Select nanopad as model 3)Under Input you should see NANOPAD2 PAD select these options and hit ok. Hope this works. The issue I'm having with reason, is figuring out have to chop samples. Also how to get more sounds.
So whats more bad with it a side from the sensitivity? Do the pads break like the original Nanopad? What about the X/Y-pad and the top buttons (which I have no idea what they do)?
I'm thinking of maybe giving nanoPad2 a try, or just save for a Korg PadKontrol instead.
@tomtefar1988 The pads dont feel right when you play them. They are not uniform, meaning it seem slike if you hit it once and then again just as hard you get different response. I have it set to high sensitivity and I still have to hit it very hard to get loud drum hits on EZDrummer.
I got this a month ago, I got the earlier units (at the time i couldnt find a korg kontrol editor that can edit the pad assignments - all the drivers were unavailable!) I think the pads feel terrible, the Akai LPD8 or even the old nanopad has better drum pads, how do you find them? Im just curious If mine is a defective unit that doesnt respond well or if thats just the way they are
@djzilchdotcom The very first Nanopads - the ones that broke were more sensitive. The last one they sent me- the black one that still works was different. The pads arent as responsive. The Nanopad2 is the same way. You can adjust the sensitivity in the Korg Control editor, but I still have to hit the pads pretty hard to get a loud sound. Also, it seems like the pads are not consistent. I hit it the same velocity and get a different response on the same pad and from pad to pad.
@djzilchdotcom You pretty much nailed it. The pads feel terrible. It's unusable unless you want to use it to trigger something with no velocity curve.
@danfromphoenix The first one worked for a while, then some of the pads stopped working. The next one the same. The next one was DOA out of the box. The next one same as the first two. The next one was a black one and is still working after a couple months and maybe two minutes of use. The new Nanopad2 seems to work, so far.

@tomtefar1988 Yeah, I know. I was going to make another video, but then I tried it and really, it's shit.
The pads are not sensitive even set to highest sensitivity and I just have no use for it. Maybe it's defective?
I don't care anymore.
