to all you guys who say maroon 5 ruined John Lennon's song: John Lennon wrote this song in order for it to be heard and for people to get inspired by it. It's amazing how some artist chose to sing this song (no matter how good or bad they sing it) because the meaning of this song is in its lyrics. Maroon 5 don't sing it to show how good they are but to inspire people. and that alone is admireable.

Nothing will ever be more touching than that children's choir in the Lennon original...but at least they use a dignified sounding grand piano here to do that counter-line.

In the end, the song is so strong that even a single voice and acoustic guitar would sound good!

I'm only giving my honest opinion here because I'm a fan of Maroon 5, but I don't like this cover at all. I just think Adam sounds bored on it. This is my favorite Xmas song and many other artists do it better. Sarah McGlachlan is my fav, but check out Celine Dion, Melissa Etheridge, The Fray, and even an old clip from U2 singing it on what looks like some talk show or something. It is a beautiful song.
