it is a helpful tool! i have difficulty at first its easy when you get used to it. been using sketchup for a long time way back when it is not yet that famous. this tool improves a lot. thanks google!

I need help. When I try to download Google Sketchup 8, during the Google Sketchup 8 Setup it saids "Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one". What does that mean? Is it a bug? Help? Thanks.

why is this program so much easier.... AND FREE-er than Solidworks, which always says "THE GEOMETRY IS INCORECT or some bs error like this, and why then does it cost like $5,000??? Im confused.

This is by farm the worst thing about Sketchup. It's jerky, obnoxious, doesn't lock on, and spins the objects downeard if you are off by a hair. I am seriously considering not using this program because of this tool. I don't know why they even need it. You should just be able to pick something up, lock onto it, and move it, instead of spending HOURS trying to get something lined up.

@1corona4u I feel your pain. WTF?! I hate this tool...the video is how it should work in theory, but it never does!! Glitchy as hell and I never see the damn protracter thing until it decides to warp something a completely unintentional way.

@sketch34 Be mindful of what surface you are placing it on and what axis you are rotating the object about. Some more RAM in your computer will also help.

Yep, GSU needs to make rotate simpler to match component orientation from one item to another.

hey peterdeeper, me too, yeah you make two points as you can see the protractor at the first point was blue then when she picked the second point it turn to black aligning the protractor to the face, but i can't seem to make this fold too. the protractor remains on the blue plane. Loaf859, is this just an issue of RAM i tried this on a toshiba laptop and a recently acquired macbook (black) but i cant seem to fold that 2nd fold. any advise?

i am not able to make the second fold of the first wing at 3.33 on the video. it almost looks like you take points as i see two green dots lighting up, one in an inner line and the second on the wing tip.
