Peter Ladner's first week in office

The NPA did a great job electing Ladner as Sam Sullivan could never have won the election.

IF you listen to their platforms Ladner's is waffle, nothing concrete, vague promises! Roberson has a concrete plan, for homelessness, for building safe communities, for becoming a truly green city with specific actions.

Sure they're both nice guys, but whose actually going to do the work, has thought about solutions, and will make a difference - only Gregor Robertson will do that - Peter will be on holiday!

This has become the most propaganda based election in my short lifetime.

The best man for the job is being tared and feathered for doing his job. This whole thing drives me a little nuts.

The public is utterly uninformed on the real issues because of the need for people to know everything going on all the time even when it ultimately hurts their interest.

I really hope that the public isn't as uninformed about how municipal politics work as the people commenting here seem to be.

I also know Peter and find him to be a very down to earth, sensible and compasionate guy. The silver spoon you speak of is completely irrelevant. It's like saying your parents were blind so you must be too.

I know Peter Ladner and would say he's a nice enough guy, but I don't think anyone born with a silver spoon in his mouth makes a good politician. Plus he loves to make speeches... God, how he loves to talk and talk and talk... I think Gregor is definitely more in touch with the majority of people in Vancouver.
