  • "theyoungturks" are VERY young indeed because they dont know THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS ART.ppl who've studied art for many years will tell you this.there's only FAMOUS art or NONFAMOUS art and only FAMOUS ART SELLS.now that daniel edwards' art is famous IT WILL SELL.

  • i hate these idiots trying to think they are stars sucking a free web network.

  • This is art. Practically anything in the world can be called art.

  • Wow! a woman nursing two babies. Wow how strange! How very weird!

This is what you do if you have twins. It is called tandem nursing. It not some circus trick. It how you feed a 2 babys. I can tell you have never fathered a nursing child. So, let me clue you in. Breasts are for children. They make men and women want to have sex, that leads to children, that leads to a child nursing them. Men are a small part in the equation. Ultimately, breasts are for nursing. Deal with it.

  • It is called tandem nursing, dumbshit

  • You all choose to watch this video which means you wanted too ! for what ever reason how can one of the most natural things in the world turn into weird ? In the video the guy states he doesnt think that this would ever happen ? What a mother with twins that needs to breast feed both her babys at the same time !!!! Omg people get a life !!! It's art and it's meant to make you think about it even if you only have two brain cells ?

  • I enjoy that they bring up the question "why?" I've no idea why this video was made. They said absolutely nothing in what appeared to be a forum of discussion. They spent 2:16 fumbling to make a point, but the only thing they actually said was, "we don't get it." I don't get it either, but I wouldn't make a 2:16 video to glorify my ignorance. Bravo again, internet. Bravo.

  • @jizames i also agree on the fact that NOTHING was really said but i will also add that in my opinion the director/creator of this video is in some way menally disturbed.

  • thats weird

  • It would make a good door stop.

  • ...... I think that it make her look very prolific and procreative and slightly out of control and peaceful all at the same time ...

  • seriously..why?!

  • the purpose of art IS to make you ask 'why'!! Why do YOU think it is?

  • Why?

Why do you get up in the morning?

    It's called the football technique.

    actually the double football.

It has been done many times.

  • I think this is very offensive to the Lady of the World, she deserves to be repected and wanna say to Daniel "Go touch yourself", he's just jealous of her dedication to the universe.

  • I kinda agree, but there are very young people on youtube and so... it's understandable that some parents don't want their kids to stumple across it for whatever reason >>

  • Interesting theory.

In practice, it's near impossible not to "stumble onto" online nudity. And if the kids *look* for it (most do), they'll find it.

I notice some videos require you to say your an adult, for some non-nudity subjects. Obviously that could be applied to nudity too.

  • mm, true enough..

I, personally, though, have stumbled upon nudity.. from searching something on google, but getting something completely different.. hence former comment..

    but yeah... definitely true enough.

  • that's not art that just nasty

  • What is art to one person ...is crap to another.

I find Danial's work to be mediocre. All he does is slap famous people's name on his sculptures hoping to create buzz.

The football analogy is stop on.

  • The fact that it's Angelina is really what makes it weird somehow? Otherwise, pretty much on par with the weirdness you'll find in a typical contemporary art museum.

  • What in the world?!?!?!?!?

  • OMG wtf?!

  • hahahahahhaha... hilarious!!

  • Wow. I wonder what Angelina thinks about this.

  • hahahahahahaha....hahahahahaha

    *dies from laughter*

  • it's fun to express your sexual fetish with the help of the NEA lol

  • i dont think that art CAN be weird because we all have our different minds on art.

  • Her breasts aren't as big as they're made out to be in that sculpture

  • they´re noy big!

  • Cool but creepy

  • I had twins. This is the recommended position for nursing two at the same time. It's hard at first.

    ....

But why the hell is she on the toilet? i don't get some artists.

  • Because Jolie's notoriety and the nudity will sell or give the artist the fame they want

  • who cares, let them do their art. I dont see why you think this is extraordinary. Things like this is made everyday.

  • its on xvideos(.)com too.

  • why not?

  • Seems to me this artist is just trying to get his name out and omg she just said that while i was typing this lol

  • I am sorry, but I have to side with Cenk on this one. I like to think of myself as somewhat cultured (I'm a musician part time), but I will be the first one to tell you that I do not understand art. Say it is to complex or sophistocated, say I lack appreciation for beauty, whatever. I see tons of art that I could never replicate, but they are seen as mediocre, and then other things that look like they came out of a preschool and are hailed as masterpieces. I don't get you artists.

  • I love art, but hate artists. Why does everything have to mean something? Why does your sculpture or painting or whatever, have to be tied to some abstract moral or political or social commentary?

Why isn't it enough for a thing to just be esthetically pleasing?

Also, I call bullshit on the "meaning" thing in the majority of cases. If you have to explain what it means to everyone who sees it, it is meaningless. It may evoke an emotional response, but it doesn't have "meaning."

  • Um... post-modernism is supposed to be the denial of claims by modernists that art can commuinicate a greater truth or an abstract notion. What you really hate must be the trends of art critics and psychoanalyists who try to find meaning against what the artist intended?

  • No, I've covered enough art exhibits as a journalist to know the difference. Very rarely will an artist just come out and say, "It's just a thing I made and I think it looks nice." It always has some, "This is a commentary on the AIDS epidemic in Africa," bullshit attached to it.

  • An artist should develop something with meaning, if the meaning is "omg dis is pretty" you're just recreating an image and not creating an expression from your mind.

but I do agree with the last part, meaning should be all perspective, but every art should try to invoke an emotional response and draw out subjectivity.

It's you whom is tying meaning to "abstract concepts". Meaning can be just about anything, even "esthetically pleasing" though that's not much of an expression.

  • But that's what I mean. If you and I look at a painting, and both come to different conclusions about what it "means," then it is by default meaningless. For example, letters are essentially images with assigned meaning. You and I can both read what I'm writing here because the letters have assigned values.

I'm not saying an artist shouldn't strive for emotional response, nor am I saying they shouldn't be proud when people find meaning in their work. (cont'd)

  • What I am saying is that a red circle on a blue background has no commonly assigned value, and claiming it is "an outcry against corporate fascism" is both disingenuous and pretentious.

  • I agree with you. Before I thought you were saying that art shouldn't have meaning because we all derive different meanings, which I couldn't disagree with more. That's the point of art, in my opinion. TO invoke your sense and probe your mind.

But, I do believe artist who try to force some meaning into their art, is kind of bullshit. But, if the artist honestly thinks a red circle against a blue background represents an outcry, then it is art, even if horrendously convoluted..

  • It's definitely art, great draftsmanship and concept.

  • It's art. But why would you base an image of a celebrity?

It's an awesome sculpture, but the fact that it's emulated from Jolie, kills it. I really have nothing against the woman, but art and celebrity garbage don't mix.

  • why - modern art is all about concept. most of new peaces can be hardly interpreted without explanation - usually you get written on some booklet or catalog that is handed at the art show. to interpret art usually requires knowledge of many fields (sociology, philosophy, art, current events) and it is not meant to be consumed as pulp fiction or pop art. you dont take it for what it is, you interpret it. so what is a good question.

  • Silliness aside the work is nicely done. If it had been anyone by Angelina, it wouldn't even be an issue.

  • This is an interesting piece. Cenk, you asked "why?" I'll give you my personal interpretation. As we all know Angelina has a soft spot for children, regardless of race or creed and breast feeding is a natural way to feed an infant. I think the artist did a rather interesting job on portraying her motherly love...

On a side note, she is an actress and she's got a lot of kids to feed and a busy schedule... so... I ask you "why not?" it doubles a mothers productivity.

    Hell, I don't know.

  • personally speakin as an artist yes this is art , i would love to see a sculpture of ana

  • of course its been attempted! like Cenk trying to wipe without easy wipes!

  • If by art you mean both dreadful and meaningless, then yes

  • well art is any bit of work that provokes an emotion, and this brings out irritation and anger. So idk.......

  • I could see it as an outlet. It's different, but I think it's art.

Almost anything could be considered art.

  • I wouldn't mind seeing a sculpture of Ana. LOL!!!

  • lol me too. her hoo hoo's r amazing

  • I could do without the horrible non-actress that is Angelina Joelie, and Cenk's annoying self absorbed sidekick as well.

  • yes it's the football hols. very common for breastfeeding twins

  • Isn't that the same artist who did the birthing Britney sculpture?

  • Daniel Edwards' work is usually creepy. So I'm not surprised he sculptured.. this.

  • Outlet for my jizz.

  • Angelina Jolie. Taking a dump, breast feeding, and struggling to shit

  • seriously, everybody loves cenk!

  • I looked at some of his other art...and uh.

Some of it is way weirder than this O.o

  • i actually think it's brilliant social commentary on our celebrity obsessed culture that worships Angelina as a mother figure; however, i don't think the artist thinks well of her or of our collective obsession since she's sitting on a toilet...it reminds me a lot of the Madonna holding baby Jesus.

  • It's art one shouldn't be flaunting or showing off. It's the same kind of weird, fetishist BS certain communities try to shove down people's throats and then get confused when people are offended by their stupid shit.

This guy didn't make it because he thought it was going to be a beautiful piece of work that everyone can appreciate or would invoke some sort of intelligent thought, he made it because the idea got his dick hard. He's just a weirdo with some talent. It deserves no recognition.

  • Cenk you're an idiot, this thing is brilliant

  • its still art !!!

  • I got one word for this so called art...Brutal

  • I just don't get it! If you don't get it move on, way sit there and tell every one you don't get it. "Your ignorance is showing" Its art and there is a great need for all forms of art good and bad. Now having said that, I like TYT and like most of the opinions stated.

  • That s pure art....It is beautiful.

  • It's art, but it's not very good... doesn't really look like angelina jolie... FAIL

  • This isn't modern art, it's contemporary.

  • wasn't that britney spears sculpture done by the same guy?

  • I'd say it's art...but the part of it being Angelina subtracts from it.

If you ignore who it is, it looks like a lot of sculptures honoring the beauty of pregnancy, motherhood, and creation that we find from ancient cultures.

  • I think the weirdness of it is what makes it art. I couldn't get off looking at something that strange.

  • anything can be art these days

  • Can your mom be art?

  • I know your mum is.

  • My mom is a freshy painted Les Fauves, with a hint of post-modern cubist variations.

Your mom on the other hand, is a crude dadaist impression!

  • she's dead

  • So... I did not ask about your mothers breathing abilities, but if swhe could be art, since everything can be art, in your opinion. Naturally, if you have feelings of depression (because you are telling the truth) I might suggest that you don't bring it up on the internet. Just a piece of simple advice...

And to be honest, death has always had a grand spot in the mind of many artists. 8D

  • Because there is a market for it. Duh...

  • Is it art?

We don't know, but it has very little artistic merit.

And it is high in shock and crudeness.

  • This? Shock? Crude? Heh?

  • That is a common nursing position for women with twins. I love TYT, but seriously, don't comment on what you don't know. Or at least Google it first.

  • Naked and on a toilette I think was the point they were making....

  • My stepmom had twins and I'm pretty sure she never would've been able to do it like that. You can't support the lower bodies of the babies like that, or at least it would be difficult.

  • How droll.

  • The woman would land the backs of her forearms, on her thighs. Humans are part of nature. If she had cradled them, in a single baby position, the overlap would stain the woman's arms, and constrict the children.

    Wisdom is better, than wise.

The statue is a representation of life, and its actions. Think beyond yourself, and your life becomes richer.

    Best wishes.

  • Fellow Tubelers,

It is a natural pose. A spot in time, for a woman with twins, makes sense. A woman is breast feeding twins, and she has to go to the bathroom. Everything is natural, logically. Ask a woman with twins.

Both are hungry, what would a loving woman do, for newborns? I imagine the babes are held in a well planned position. How to cradle both children, while nature is calling? Scoop both, between arms, lift and apply. Women are very smart.

    -continued.

  • Marcel Duchamp would probably approve.

  • What's the point? How freakin vain!

  • i don't even think it looks like angelina jolie.....

  • eh i think it looks nice. its a statue

  • for someone its an outlet and for someone it is a paycheque

  • Good art is a fine meal, this is pot noodle.

  • It's not a toilet, it's a bidet.

  • pointless sculpture and the nudity is stupid thats not art it's just a naked woman

  • It's very dangerous to start saying things aren't art. Before you know it you're saying Picasso's work isn't art because it's often ugly, or saying that Warhole's work isn't art because it isn't that skillful.

Only the nazis and communists were that presumptious.

    Oh, and the statue sucks.

  • It's art, silly juvenile art, but art nonetheless.

  • The sculpture is just as pretentious as Jolie. If you have twins Cenk, you kinda have to breast feed like that if both baby's are hungry lol

  • Holy shit, that's scary.

  • yes it's art.

first of all, any piece of art starts when the person who created it calls it art no matter what. it's up to the individual who views it to see it as good art or poorly made. i like it, but even if i didn't it would still be art.

  • to me anything that portrait a woman, of any shape in any position, is art.

excluding porn of course, well, most of it

  • Cenk and Ana... yes that is a perfectly fine way to breast feed twins (tho most people do one at a time if possible). The toilet thing is crazy I don't get it but ya I was taught to breast feed my (one) daughter that way. And lol about "she looks like she's running for a touchdown" because it's called the "football hold"!!! Haha weird art anyway;... but it's art... so whatever.

  • the main question Cenk is "why are you even bothering to talk about it?"

  • slow news cycle?

  • THE LIPS ARE TOO SMALL

  • He might wanted to show how buisy

she is after giving birth to a twins !

  • LOL. That's where women in America breast-feed anyway, the bathroom.

  • It's art. It took skill to make it. It has a purpose behind it.

That's like asking are political shows really political, or are they just shows of people ranting about news?

  • No because a show "being political" is a two-state situation; it either is or it isn't. "Ranting" about politics would still make it a political show.

Art on the other hand can be very deceptive. Many modern artists, and I know a few, are bullshit artists first and foremost. They proudly tell me about the stories they use to rip off rich "art lovers". Heck you only have to look at Damien Hirst, mass producing his thoughtless, silly "art" and see the real vapidity of the modern art scene.

  • Skill is not a requirement of art... creativeness is.

  • You are right Cenk, you don't get it.

  • Cenk, yes, many mothers feed their kids like this - particularly when you have twins, so you can feed them both at once. Also funny you would say she looks like she's running for a touchdown, because it's called "the football hold"... just FYI. :)

  • Don't be a sucker, break out of the false left/right paradigm.

    REAL news--> infowars*com

  • Fine Art is fucking retarded.

  • I disagree with the term "fine art". To me, there is good art, and there is bad art.

  • "modern" art is a pathetic excuse to title stupidity as genious

  • you obviously know nothing about art. It is a form of communication, it sends a message, it means something. Now that thing just looks like angelina jolie sitting with two babies but it might mean something to someone, so you can't say its pathetic in general, just pathetic to you.

  • you're obviously one of the idiots who think there literal piles of shit displayed in museums are art. And yes, I mean literal shit. How is feces from a human or animal art? You're either joking or sick in your mind if you think shit is art just because it has a "meaning". You know what's art? Something that requires skill. Beethoven's music is art because it's beautiful and no random Joe can create something like it without talent or skill. Anyone can be stupid, so stupid is not art.

  • Just because you or I don't like the art, doesn't mean it's not art.

  • who on earth said a random joe could create art? but you cant judge art based simply on how hard it is to create, that makes no sense, and if people believed that then artists like Picasso and Gaugin would never have been well known. Its not about technical abilities, though they are part of it, its about substance and meaning.

You are obviously an unartistic person.

  • Speaking about Picasso...he did realistic looking paintings before he started using the style that most people know him for.

    Just goes to show...

  • so you think poop in a museum is art? go check-in the mental asylum

  • i didnt say that but i can assure you if it was in a museum then there probably was a reason for it..... so it could be art, yes.

People said the same thing you are saying when Dali' started painting surrealist paintings.

  • What is really funny, is that they actually have toilets that will wash/clean for you. Knowledge goes a long way.

  • of course it's art. whether or not it's good is the question? most art (modern or otherwise) makes me say wtf!

  • WHO CARES??

  • of course ppl breastfeed like that! hope are you gona feed two babies at the same time without them kicking each other!

  • I get it ! It's the goddess of babies. I guess you could call her "Maternity". Ever sense the dawn of man we always look to a supernatural image to represent something that is good or evil. I guess the Greeks and the Romans forgot this one and the artist must think we need one. I'll buy it! Excellent work!

  • Angelina is at the 20...the 10...the 5...TOUCHDOWN!!!

  • I don't know about sitting on the toilet but I know of women who feed twins like that. Is it art? Yeah, its a rendition of some "real" image. It may not be "good" art or "tasteful" art or art that appeals to everyone, but it's art.

  • this sculpture is sick

  • there's good art, most is BS, this is BS, imo angelina thinks shes a living deity, ana makes a good point

  • How do u know what Angelina thinks? U obviously don't like her, but that's your problem. All she does is try to use her celebrity, and her money, to bring attention to children in need all over the world.

I didn't know adopting 3 orphans was such a bad thing, you must have some high standards dude.....

  • i didn't say i know what she thinks, i said IMO "in my opinion", i don't hate her at all, i even like brads comments of late about faith.

i'm not a fanatic of hers like you, calm down

  • I'm not fanatic about anything, this is not even about liking Angelina Jolie. It's just that her humanitarian activism is for such a great cause, and anybody that refuses to see that is an idiot. Done.

  • art is an excuse for desperate people to do meaningless things

  • What exactly is meaningful too you?

  • Your attempt to be poetic falls short. Using a blanket statement to describe thousands of years of human creativity is bound to fail.

  • its art because it gets you thinking

  • This is how you are supposed to nurse twins. Without the toilet of course.

  • A lot more people would go to see the exbition if the artist left out the babies and toilet. Its all about marketing.

  • LOL @ the dual-wielding baby sculpture on the john.

    What a shitty-ass sculpture.

By the way, we need to coin "The Jolie" as the sex act where a man mouths a womans breast while she's taking a shit.

  • She looks like Isis the Goddess of Egypht. LOL

  • Is it art?

    Yes it is.

    Why? Exactly.

  • Comment removed

  • Only the individual can answer this question: Is it good art?

And the answer is only relevant to the individual upon hearing it from one's self.

  • Ana is so hot. I'd hit that!!!!!!!!

  • actually to answer the question of Cerk, yes. I think I saw something similar in a painting. And yes art is quite an abstract thing. I have no problem with the sculpture. 5/5

  • thats not a toilet...

  • Angelina Jole looks like a space alien

  • OMG ana I wanna make you giggle. Contact me we'll talk. (whores chance in heaven that'll happen). YO Cenk, I know how worldly renowned your opinions are. How bout we eiffel tower over ana's back. Then we can all snuggle and discuss foreign relations, fox news, and racial tensions till we get "tense" again.

  • haha, I love Ana's laugh!! It's so cute!

  • I bet you the Octomom has.

  • why? you can't ask the artist. You have to ask the man who paid them the art. They are the one who can explain it

  • Anything created for its own sake is art.

The question is: is it good art?

And that question can be answered only on a subjective level. If there are people out there who feel that it moves them or means something to them, it's good. If not, it's bad.

  • why not?

  • I don't have a developed opinion about the sculpture or know what it "means," but you guys who dismiss it without even looking into it are such snobs. It is so easy to make a judgment against something because you don't want to have to muster the courage to challenge your preconceptions. Or because you just want to feel all superior and ironic. If you honestly think something is valueless because you can't see its value after just one glance, then your opinion is worth nothing.

  • Two things, learn the definition of ironic, & second stop being a hypocrite.

"I dont have a developed opinion about the sculpture or know what it "means" but you guys who dismiss it without even looking into it are such snobs"

So if I say that I think its dumb IN MY OPINION I'm a snob? But if you say its NOT dumb you're not? Yea WERE the snobs...

& by the way ART IS SUBJECTIVE!

So OF COURSE not every1 will agree!

But the majority speaks for what is accepted & THE MAJORITY THINKS THIS IS WEIRD!

  • Comment removed

  • You're right. I know what "ironic" means, but I don't know why I said it. I'm embarassed about that. Also, sorry for the general sloppiness of my post. The thing is, art is an attempt to communicate. And artists work hard, not just on the object but on the thought behind it. People can have any opinion, but to simply say something's dumb or invalid without trying to understand what is being said is rude and arrogant. It's like replying to a considered point in an argument with "you're dumb."

  • I get what you mean, that people who call it "not art" are wrong, but otherwise any judgment is fair, however, ignorant as it could be. To me, at least, their is no such thing as an art expert, the exception being the musical arts of course.

  • People are entitled to their judgments, and people can definitley decide that it isn't worth looking further into something, but I would definitely rather listen to an educated opinion than an ignorant one.

That is an interesting point about there being no true art experts. I can dig it. But I don't see that music would nesessariy be any different. There is a big subjective aspect to music as well.

  • Well when it comes to music, even if you don't enjoy a genre you can still respect the mastery. For example I can't really respect the mastery of that Angelina Jolie ever, but its not my taste. However, I can respect Beethoven mastery even though I don't like classical (not my taste)

    That's just my opinion

  • Ana in HD

  • Ok, as a mother of twins, I can tell you this is definitely possible to do... prop some pillows beside you and use the pillows for support as you breastfeed your babies at the same time!

You do what you gotta do!
