President Obama was well within his rights to appoint Richard Cordray to lead the CFPB as a recess appointment - it was the ignorant & obstructionist tea party mob that was violating the Constitution by not holding confirmation hearings for Richard Cordray.

This is NOT good news for the American people - we have a President who is now talking and acting OPENLY as a dictator. "When Congress doesn't let me do what I want, I am going to do what I want anyway." And he is getting applause for it.

He made these recess appointments while Congress was NOT in recess.

Make no mistake, and mark my words, we are in dangerous times when there is no check and balance against the personal judgment of one individual.

All depends on what this Consumer Financial Protection Bureau turns out to be. I haven't looked into it. What control does it have over banks? or corrupted officials in the bank, in the government, wherever. How will they deal with guns? And all the dead bodies behind sweat shops? Anyway, enlightening stuff. To the question- I don't have much of an opinion when it comes to Obama's domestic policy...except the targeted killing of Awlaki

@rickiex Yes, I have problems with that as well.And even though he added a signing statement to pull himself from this Act,doesn't mean that the next Pres. will not use the NDAA to its worst.I could judge Obama more harshly for his actions if I also didn't see the GOP doing everything possible to obstruct everything regardless of how it hurts our country.This was a fiscal bill &for Obama not to sign it would seem that he was not in support of the military,to which he is sensitive.

yea i understand that he was stuck between a rock in a hard place, but that doesnt mean he can just go against the Constitution, his own words about protecting the constitution, and on top of that, HE, Obama himself wanted the indefinite dentition of US citizens on the bill, according to the senates when the blame was put on them.

@rickiex This NDAA is made to protect the 1% against the 99%.Congress has proven to be working for the 1% and not the ppl.Yes I did hear that Sen Levin claims he got a letter from Obama requesting this addition of the indefinite detention but,I could find no proof of such a letter.I distrust the whole Congress w/the exception of a very few more than I distrust Obama & the approval numbers reflect this seemingly odd position.but, believe me I feel your sentiment.
