So we were slaves to them back in the day. You and me have never been slaves. All races have been slaves to somebody throughout history. @use2slam2 U must've watched a different video from the one I shot, because the one i shot shows no complaining, no blaming. The one I shot, which u may or may not have watched, shows proud people struggling mightily to put food on the table and raise families in an economic dead zone.

For now, I'm going to leave ur racist rant, because it crystalizes the ignorance of people like you. But my tolerance for the dumb who choose 2 stay dumb isn't very high, so don't be surprised when it's gone.

I'm a white guy from Canada. I was in Miami for a week and accidentally wandered into Overtown and got lost. I was getting weird looks. Some locals came up to me and said this isn't the best place for me to be and walked me out (didn't force me to leave but new I didn't belong and probably shouldn't be there). Just goes to show that not all people in lower class neighbourhoods are not bad people and will go out of their way to help others.

Thanks! The 5D doesn't do a great job with inboard audio recording, but in this case it was acceptable. I hope to be back in that church one day when they're singing that same hymn, but this time with my H4n audio recorder accompanying me! :)

Great images. The "postcard," like all postcards, can't tell the whole story on the neighborhood, because there isn't enough space. Hopefully the snippets will be joined together for the bigger story.
