Band is as sharp and great as they were 500 years ago. Usually reunions and the sort fall short of the original efforts. Not here. They are terrific still. This song made my day.
Not trying to be a party pooper guys lord know's i've been listening to the symphony for so long i still have the lps..but this is a kenny rogers cover...and a damn good one might i add..but gearheart has it. this song is the one that got my wife in tune with them and she saw them for the first time a few weeks ago here in knoxville at the shed..just wished that the monitors were co-operating hahahah an awsome show none the less..stay on the right track!
man, i don't know what it is about charlie, but he's got that kind of conway twitty-type sleaze that just works. "fit like a hand in a glove, and taught me how to love"
i mean, it's so sleazy but so genius, and i love it so much that i'll probably, once again, plan most of my summer around goose shows! XD
finding these videos tonight have given me goosebumps. Got a good schedule for 2009 and I cant wait. If a mans gonna eat fried chicken, hes gonna get greasy! Cool video by the way, see you heads soon
Used to listen to you guys on "alternative country" station out of Amarillo, Tx back in late 70's when I was in high school! This is the first time I've been able to find you. Maybe technology isn't all bad. Glad you guys are still playin great music!Do you travel west at all?
This band is so great. And they haven't lost their touch. I've never been to America, but their music, to me, paints an image of friendly people getting together on a Saturday night to have fun, drink a little and make music. What could be better?
you should go to a show then. seen em a good twenty times live, and what you picture is spot-on the scene what you'll get. just a bunch of good ol boys gettin loose and havin a few beers, and old charlie usually has a couple hisself while he plays. the crowd's usually pretty much the same, just a bunch of good ol mountain folk havin a few drinks, flatfootin, and just generally havin a good ol time
winter, that's a great view of America that they paint, I agree. I'm from a part of the country (WNC) that has a long history of "old time music" and although this isn't banjo and fiddle music, it's still music that reminds you of a time past. I love history, and I know history is more than wars and presidents, chancellors, etc. Although this song isn't old, the sound, the vibe, the essence is, and it's a part of history that I hope survives, and I love that I'm not alone in that hope.

Goose creek is way better than Three Dog Night, just not as publicized. That is just my opinion.
