Legally, you're allowed to watch. I don't know if recording is okay, although I think it is. But still, watching the cops is the best way to fight police harassment. Should you ever find yourself in the situtation again, observe police activity. Write down the officer's name, badge number, addresses of other witnesses (if you can get them) and make a log of some sort (time, date, details. Kind of like this, actually, haha) If they stop you, get others to take your place.

What needs to be done in this situation is a formal complaint needs to be filed. Nothing will happen if a formal complaint is not filed with the police department. This video could potentially be used as evidence, but the only way anything will get done is if the band files a formal complaint.

No, actually its not. Most bands load/unload in the front because their trucks/trailers are too big for the back street (no, its not an alley). That van is barely able to fit down the street and its not even close to size of vehicle that most touring bands use. I didn't hear this but the same thing happened to Dan Hunter from Ply Radio Play he just wanted to sit and play a few songs outside and the cops told him he had to move because we were blocking the sidewalk so we all moved in close no more an anyones way then a tourist crowd we be and they thought he was talking back to him but he wasn't so he had to move, they were dicks about the whole thing though.

The end of the video is very telling of her immaturity. If I were the neighbor that she was talking that camera would still be stuck in an orafice.
She did nothing more than exascerbate the situation and caused further problems by creating a reason for the neighbors to complain about TLA. More complaints will ruin a great music venue.

No, actually its not. Most bands load/unload in the front because their trucks/trailers are too big for the back street (no, its not an alley). That van is barely able to fit down the street and its not even close to size of vehicle that most touring bands use. They also have reserved parking for those vehicles around the corner from the venue.

The cop is purposely shining a light into the camera so that the video wouldn't show the unjustified abuse on innocent people. He also probably was trying to break the camera on purpose so that the footage would be lost and couldn't be used. All 3 bands parked their vans near the alley to load in. Cops gave the first band 4 tickets.
People from other bands came out to see what was up and load THEIR stuff in.
Cops slammed the door shut on them and told them not to come out.
They beat one of the crew members over the head, until he bled profusely, he's in the hospital. Just for opening the door again to go outside.
Then WTK's tour manager got arrested just for asking for the badge numbers. So there ya go.

Arrest someone if they're supposedly doing something wrong. It's still an abuse of power, but at least you're not beating an innocent and helpless person into a bloody mess.
If you can't explain what the issue is, as a cop, and find a civil way to resolve it or at least detain the individual breaking the law, without being a violent prick, you're a disgrace to this country.
These cops need to publicize a good reason as to why these guys were assaulted, or be served supreme consequence.
