You don't need a super missile to break the column, just 2 regular missiles will do it.

he got it because he beat the game, and then, he hooked up a nintendo advance to the gc. then, he beat the game of metroid (on the advance) and then he got the metroid fusion suit. the game on the advance is metroid fusion!

you are right and the suit has no real effect its just a bonus you can get in the game
