  • @Holycrapaferrari Sorry. Rugby>American Football.

  • It looks like that first game Flynn was in during the first tron.

  • @Holycrapaferrari Indeed. For every 15 seconds of 'action' you get a minute or more of people doing absolutely nothing (unless looking intently at each other counts as doing something). Not even the biggest marketing machine in the world can draw more than marginal ratings for that crap outside the US, which speaks volumes about its merits. Heck, if it weren't "your" sport, not even you would care for it.

  • @billstpor And football, or "soccer" has 100% action, it's popular because it 's cheap

  • @steve23 No son,the original white Europeans are the Basque.Dont believe me?Look it up.

  • my dad was a pro he played in dania miami n milford connecticut.

  • Do they still play in Fort Pierce?

  • not the fastest ball game, the ball in golf and badminton reaches a higher speed so there

  • @seanankerr Badminton does not use a ball, it does not get anywhere near this fast.

  • Is this supposed to be the World's Shittest Sport clip?

  • Em im pretty sure hurley is faster...

  • It's not

  • I was inclined to disagree with you until I saw the clip, but judging by the look of it I'd say hurling is faster too, but then again this is America home of the "world series*"

  • @seanankerr Jai Alai is not an "American" sport. Also these balls can get almost 200mph.

  • @TheShadowsedge 188mph was the world record.

  • is it true they play this sport using oranges? and how do u play it?

  • They only use oranges and nectarines in the Southern hemisphere during them mixed juice World finals, otherwise it is played using satsumas or apples. You are American right?

  • @ayker721 - Stop thinking Jackass is accurate about everything you stupid fool.

  • badminton is the fastest man powered sport recently been clocked at 210 mph

  • This is madness.

  • ok that's pretty cool

  • oyarbide is AWESOME!!!

  • the fastest sport using a ball is golf. this sport held it for a long time. however a the world record holder in the long drive comp was recorded over 200mph

  • Yeah Jason Zubak i just watched the vid man how crazy was it 204mph was the speed that he hit the last ball at that is outrageous

  • catching and throwin not striking with a club!!

  • The top pro Kane Waselenchuk can hit a racquetball 200 mph, thats fast.

  • I played for years, not competitively, some with pros for practice, and I can say that what some of you are saying is partially correct.

  • ....are you talking about my BALLS?

  • 3rd fastest- hurling fastest.

  • I agree talking overall not just the fastest ever ball

  • wrong, this is fastest, balls have been clocked in excess of 170 miles per hour,

  • second fastest --- fastest is golf.

  • no badminton ist fastest... shuttlecock can go 255mph

    try hit that back

  • lulz

  • To be honest, this is the most rigged, corrupt sport in history.

  • u know,I've gambled on jai alai before and watched them drop the ball on easy plays or throw it out. And I never saw any purse money posted in the program (u know, like horse/dog racing)...what EXACTLY do these guys play for and how much do they get?

  • Anyone know where it can be played in England?? i really want to try this sport out but i live in london!

  • i use to paly this when i was a kids...but i never found this a interesting sport.....but now as I'm older- i definitely....was wrong toever lost interest---this looks fun... 2 thumbs up!

  • This sport is awsome its really fun to watch

  • I won $200 on that game

  • ball involved = ball game

hockey = not a ball game

chess = not a ball game

dodgeball = evolution....until the nerdy kids learn how to build robots that fling the ball 100MPH at the jocks ......then the jocks pay the nerdy kids billions of dollars for the technology then it's called capitalism, just ask bill gates.

  • Ball Hockey / Road Hockey?

    It is hockey, ball included

  • Okay what are you people talking about? someone must be posting comments under my name without my consent which is entirely possible seeing as how many people use this computer. I honestly have no clue what people are talking about when they say am I making sense? Sense of what? A Comment? The video? I know I've driven past that arena numerous times on my way to the beach but wtf is everyone talking about?

  • i was there a few nights ago its a BLAST!

  • men...

  • Just like in the movie Tron. There is an arena in Tijuana Mex. It still says Jai Alai Games on the outside but its not in use anymore.

  • look fun to play but i could not sit and watch this shit ...........no offense

  • this is the silliest looking sport ever!

  • Ukimos,

    golf isnt a ball game?

    are you sure?

Last time i checked a ball was involved!

  • huhuh retard its called a golf BALL!

so there is a ball involved so stfu

  • Thats what he said, huhuh retard.

  • you fail

  • Frontón; an internet community for Jai Alai and pelota fans world wide:

Check out my youtube account for the adress!

You are all welcome to join!

  • so is this like extreme wall ball?

  • @millerkarlo yeah, they serve at like 200 mph

  • that would take some major cojones to stand in front of that ball.

  • isn;t this from the movie "tron"?

  • lol, fastest ball game is slowest to watch!

  • Golf is not a ball game. Technically it's a shooting game like dart, archery etc.

  • so is basketball a shooting game too?...you shoot the ball, dont you? Golf is a game played with a ball, I think thats all that needs to constitute itsef as a ball game.

  • those guys suck so bad check out eddie the mouth

  • i drove past that place today was it in like maitland right but sticks look like a bannana lol

  • Giant Fritos

  • I,m an englishman and when i was working at Pompano Raceway a few years ago a Canadian buddy and i went to watch this at Dania after seeing it advertised on a taxi cab roof and previosly seeing it on Miami Vice ..we sat all afternoon and were betting on the game even though we could not understand a thing that was happening ..lol.. the rules and betting seem impossible to follow... i guess i should stick to the Harness Horses :-)

  • Weird. I live in a small town and for some reason during my early school years during recess we had Jai-Alai baskets, albeit plastic, but still we would play with them in a similar fashion. I had no idea where the baskets were from or what game you played them for. But now I know, even though I am still confused why I had them in small-town-USA.

  • you sure it wasn't lacrosse?

  • Absolutely positive, I used to play Lacrosse, good at it too. No these were Jai-Alai baskets or what have you. Surprising, I know.

  • LaCrosse doesn't use baskets, it uses sticks with a paddle-like end.

    Doesn't it? =/

  • It uses sticks with a net-like end and a ball. You throw the ball into a net, which is probably what they mean by a basket.

  • those are just little beach toys.....not meant for jai-alai.

They look similar to the paddles but they are just meant for playing catch.

  • Where can u bye the cestas the baskets they use to catch and throw the ball?

  • Too bad we don't have this in Chicago. It looks like something I'd be interested in learning.

  • For those that would like to visit the fronton Dania now has FREE admission,FREE seating and FREE parking......what a DEAL!!!

  • Just saw an episode of Miami Vice and they were playing this sport. I live in Australia and we dont have that sport down here it looks kinda weird but unique

  • i came her cuz of the jackass episode of jai alai

  • hahahaha me 2 that was hilarious

  • From Wiki:

    A 125 g--140 g ball covered with goatskin can travel up to 302 km/h (188 mph)

    I think it might hurt...

  • Best sport ever,my dad was a pro he played in dania.

  • i was there last night =)

  • good display of the sport :)

  • There´s a lot of poets here....

  • hey fuck you! have some fucking respect and grow up

  • You're a poor excuse for a human being.

  • my great grandpa loved jai alai as a kid, and every time he gambled, and every time he would win, he knew the game so well he could just geuss which one would win

  • this game looks hella tight :D, realy fast :), and looks like ur playing with death (not good) =/

  • How did this game become so popular in Miami? I never saw anybody play it in New York.

  • Ive been to dania once and loved every minute of it. please can any one tell me where i can buy the "basket" for throwing the ball.

  • E-bay is a gd place 2 start my friend :)

  • thanks

  • I read that the avergae lifespan of a ball (pelota) is 20 minutes! Also, it is supposed to be such hard rubber it is more like a rock!

    Squash is for pussies, lol

  • Looks like fun.

  • Looks very nice

  • A blast, here for 2 days (10/17/07) - I go to watch it because it's so fast, barely gamble - won a trifecta last night, $125 (boxed $1, meant $2, even on rare occasions I win I'm dissatisfied, why I'm not a good gambler) - going again tonight, it's 99 cent 16-oz drafts Wed, who can complain? Really wish I could try to heave the pelota sometime - remember reading that one of the frontons has a special on Friday where you can go 1 hr early & strap on a cesta and try, but don't remember where

  • Its just like tennis, there are lines it can only bounce once etc

  • haha and if u get hit

its gonna hurt like fucking hell

  • Check out the Jackass Jai Alai, with oranges!! Ouch!

  • Ok i still dont get this game,it looks cool but how do you score points

  • you have a left wall, a front wall and a back wall, there is no right wall. if i remember correctly one team starts a serve, it must hit the front wall, the opposing team must catch the ball in air or on one bounce and throw it in the same motion..cant go out of bounds either..play to 7 i think?

  • This game is insane, but it sux how it alreadt got kiked out of CT and RI

  • chic chac

  • sport of the Basque country

  • How the hell do you bet on this? Since humans play, could it be possible the games are rigged?

  • There were rumors of game fixing in the 70's and 80's, but it is relatively free from that now. I used to play amature jai alai in North Miami when I was younger. It was a blast. I'll never forget my son's eyes when I bet him that I could throw a baseball to him in centerfield from home plate, 350 feet away! He thought he had a sure thing! (I won the bet!!)

  • i live 20 minutes away from dania.. its kick ass...

  • wow, that's awesome. are there any women's leagues?

  • when i went 2 florida 2 visit my aunt we went 2 dania jai alai n my dad won a tri fector
