your video actually helped all the others are blurry unclear and dont show like up close yours was perfect i was kinda getting it before i turned yours on bam i got it thanks.
beware i got one last week played it four hours and woke at 2am totally disorientated and threw ou for hrs went to hospital and was diagnosed with vertigo still cant walk straight -i play harmonica and bongos and ill stick to them -FUCK JAW HARPS
@crazygarry13 It kind of depends on your mouth, but the essential idea is to put the steel onto your teeth, but allows space for the twang to move freely in your mouth.
I got one at Cracker Barrel on a whim yesterday and it's a little shorter than the one you've got. Is that going to make a difference in the sound? I did like your video, you answered my 'beginners' questions. =D But yeah, if I'm serious about wanting to play this thing well, should I be bothering with this seemingly child sized harp?
@mindysioux13 The bigger the harp, the lower the pitch. The smaller the harp, the higher the pitch. I would assume that the harp you bought is made of good materials, and it would just make a higher note and overtones. Mine is a D#, and yours may be around B or A
I still need help cuz i dont know how i make the noise go up and down! Every one keeps saying that u move your tongue, but when i do it makes no difference!
I've watched numerous videos on how to play the jaw harp and yours is by far the best. You explain the basics, like how to hold the harp between the teeth, which no one else demonstrates. I'm still struggling with the right amount of pressure to hold it. Too little pressure and it moves when I twang it, and too much pressure and I get no sound at all.
I bought a Jew's harp today and this video helped soooo much :) Thanks a bunch x

I made mine. It took a few tries but it sounds pretty cool. Don't have a clue on what pitch its in though.

i just cant get the boing
mrbigboy232 2 months ago
@mrbigboy232 THe boing is actually generated by your tongue. Move it closer and further away from the harp very quickly. This should help!

@redgecko13 Why thank you, sir. I hold it pretty tight against the teeth. In fact, it has actually straightened my bottom front teeth.
