is it me, or does federer slide his right foot forward after doing a cross-court forehand and then kinda lift and places his left foot back on down the line forehands or when he receives a deep hit?
@tennismaster321 Tired of always reading the same shit ... It's true what you said but every single video of him has this same fucking commentary .. fuck ..
Yeah, but at the same time, his grip on the forehand doesn't result in an exaggerated-looking forehand. By exaggerated I assume you mean look like Djokovic and the like who use western or extreme western grip, right?
Agassi called Nadal "Freak of nature". Nadal said that "Being no.2 is actually like being no.1. I guess is bad lack that we are playing at the era of the greatest tennis player of all times." I say their duel is the best ever, and the greatest advertisment for this wonderfull sport.
hi guys ... just for your information ... he is still the greatest .... and if you wanna see the movie in a higher resolution put this letters past the original URL: &fmt=18 enjoy
i would have agreed before the final. but losing to a very tired nadal on a hard court... that was innexcusable. it was such a winnable match. nadal killed him on clay. beat him on grass. now on hard. before nadal came along federer had the good fortune of being in his prime during a pathetic generation of players. and finally a decent player comes along to challenge him, and he cant meet this challenge. does this really sound like the story of the greatest of all time?
he's the most skillful but against nadal his tactics are terrible.>> he has received criticism for his lack of stategic variety against Nadal and wilting under pressure in their matches. his mettle has also been questioned, because he squandered many opportunities against Nadal, including: 2 match points in the 2006 rome masters final, up a set in the 2006 french open final, converting only 1 of 17 break points in the 2007 french open final, and unraveling in the fifth set of the 2009 AO final.
nah you have got it wrong! there is a host of reasons why nadal has beaten federer.
first off nadal wasnt tired,he only played 1 5 set match to get to the final and if you remember fed played 1 aswel and they both had a day of.second everysurface bar the us open has slowed dramatically which suits nadals game to a tee, third nadal was very different to all the other players when he came on tour,he ran down every ball which started getting to all of the players,to be continued.
you say they both had a 5 set match like that means they're the same. rogers 5 set match was 4 or 5 days before the final and it was against berdych. nadals 5 set match was 2 days before the final, was the longest match in Australian Open history, and was against verdasco playing the match of his life. he beat fed for the same reason as always: fed doesnt take his chances. he had 6 break points in the 3rd set. got none. at wimbledon he got 1 of 13 BP. at the 2007 french he got 1 of 17. he chokes
thats not my point forget about the 5 sets.everybody knows nadal is the fittist guy on tour,in wimby 07 he 3 5set matches so never mind that. yeah i know he chokes but my point being he has loads of chances to beat nadal.nadals a better competitor but federer is still a better player.even nadal himself admits this.
hes extremely fit but he's not super human. no one can play 5 and a half hours of highest level tennis and feel no effects of it after just a day of rest. thats why he called the trainer during the match. no human body works that way.
you dont have to be super human to play a 5 and half hour match at the highest level! nadal makes it seem that way with constant grunting which sounds like hes in agony every shot. like i said he played 3 5 set matches in 07 wimbledon so leave it. watch his match again and imagine his shots without the grunting.its the same with fed he played 2 5 setters but you didnt hear him grunting so evryone thinks its effortless for him,but hes still going through the same as nadal.and hes 27.
ugh you dont have to be super human to play a match like that but you do have to be super human to do it and have absolutely zero soreness and a full recovery with 1 day of resting. if that were true, the guy would be playing a thousand tournements per year and end up with a gazillion points in the rankings. and no im not retarded enough to think "ohhh grunting he must be hurtin'"
then HOW THE FUCK COULD HE BE SORE AFTER 1 5 SETTER!!!! REMEMBER HE GOT THROUGH TO THE SEMIS EASY IN STRAIGHT SETS,he wouldve been fine after a match like that hes been through far worse!!!1!! FUCKIN HELL!!!
you really cant imagine how its possible he could be tired after playing the longest match in australian open history?? did you have your eyes closed when he called the trainer during the final? ignore him when he said his legs were starting to cramp?
only nadal has himself to blame for that! if he didnt run down every single ball! you wouldnt hear roger federer complain about leg cramping because his movement is effortless, thats why i think he could last longer in a match than nadal could.sooner or later nadal would get a injury like his knee or something.
sooo now n then rafael should just let some points go? ummm ok... well if his knees buckle and he retires soon then rogers legacy will be gone too. cos he'll just win everything easily and people will say "of course he won, he doesnt have any competition"
No even if rafa retire due to injury roger wouldnt dominate because of murray....i see murray dominating in the few years.hes beaten rafa in thier last 3 meetings and roger in their last 3 aswell.the only way you can win against him is if he retires froma match or tournament.because you and me both know that if he hadnt pulled out of dubai he wouldve beaten djoker in the final.
yeh yeh thats what everyone was saying about the amazing murray before the aussie open. saying crap like hes the favourite (lolz). oh and theres another way to beat murray.>>> 6-2 7-5 6-2 in a US open final...hah
You can bet there will be a new generation of tennis players who try to emulate his stroke technique and way he generates power. His shots are not only effective but nice-looking.
It reminds me of when I played so many guys who tried to emulate Sampras in his day. They would strike the same pose before serving, use his racket, come in to net a lot, even wear his shoes.
Federer's forehand goes a long way to improve the way we all approach doing forehand.
@miltyu97 agreed man. it's one thing to have a pretty looking stroke but to have one that looks so damn good and is deadly at the same time, that's a rare find...for now. ;]

Federer may be lacking in fitness now, probably he is a littled aged now than he used to be. But for skill and tactic-wise, he is still the best.
