    Ya thats it, because all mustangs are faster out of the box then the Challengers. Maybe it sounds better stock since it sounds like a low compression boat now.

  • @ford2581 your right, fords are faster outta the box, but my car turns heads even when it was stock, and always gets compliments, a mustang gets, well, nothing really since there are so many and a dime a dozen. We could go on and on about who's car is better than who's, but one thing for sure is we both love our rides. Thats what its all about! Would you own a dodge? probably not, would i own a mustang? Hell no! (unless its an early Boss 302) I do like classic cars. Enjoy your ride!

  • How did much did this wake up the car? Was it a big difference performance wise or not? Some cars do better then others with mods.. Me and my wife jus bought a rt and I cant wait to start modding it.

  • @217zenki the R/T makes 336HP at the wheels, with all my mods, mine makes 390 at the wheels on the Dyno!

  • The R/T's biggest weakness is the stock exhaust manifolds. The SRT8 has nice shorty headers, and of course aftermarket longtubes are even better. Not sure if the cats are the same in the SRT8 vs. R/T.

  • I don't hear the difference from spintech to flowmaster, other then the price being like 50 bucks less for the spintechs and the size being almost a full 5 inchs shorter in lenght and 6 inches in width. My RT sounds just as good...

  • did the high flow cats give any gains in sound? i got a 2002 dodge durango 4.7l v8 and i wanna get a high flow cat to go with my super 44 flowmaster! but people are telling me i wont see any gains and some say i'll hear the dif. any advice man?

  • @aaminjoshi91 really not sure, i put all of this on at once, when the car was 2 days old. But i would think that they would make a difference! I mean a HIGH FLOW cat is better than a stock cat ANYDAY!

  • @mitchlupo yeah well i hear that chrysler makes a "REALLY" good cat off the line. everyone told me its not worth it but i do have a flowmaster super 44 muffler and a cold air intake "now" which i just installed this weekend. I guess i'll keep lookin and when i get more money in my pocket i'll just do it i mean it wont hurt any right? did you get acheck engine light when you put it on? the high flow cat?

  • @aaminjoshi91 well it took sbout 4 months, but i now do have the check light on, can turn it off fo about a week, then it comes back

  • @aaminjoshi91 I am a tech at dodge, and unfortunately i see a lot of engine lights from high flow cats. If you decide to do it, make sure you do not cut or weld within 6 inches of either 0/2 sensor, because any leak, no matter how small, can throw a code. I tkink poor installation is part of the problems i see, but i can tell you you wil notice no difference.

  • @mitchlupo Before you doom the cats of even the o2 sensors, have the exhaust smoke tested at a dealer or a good aftermarket shop. We have something called a smoke machine, and with the engine off, and one pipe blocked off it forces smoke into the exhaust and you can visibly see any leaks, no matter how small. Any exhasut leak can throw a code, but typically you will get a "catalyst efficiency" code. Just something to check before spending money on parts you might not need.

  • @jcarterwick I have had ZERO issues with this setup. Only thing i guess was the O2 sensor light did eventually come on after a month or two, but that was expected. Nothing the predator cant take of.

And also, on the Catalitic converter do you have a 3" or a 2.5"?  And lastly, how much was insalation, you went all the way into the converters.... that must have cost a fortune! I'd appreciate it if you could comment back what you got... Thanks

  • @THEhockeySTUDD66 I replied to you via PM but for anyone else wondering. Yes, i had to order the SRT-8 MBRP exhaust, so that it would mate up to the Kooks headers and Cats. The guys charged me $600 to install it, not bad for Hawaii price, and it was the first they had done (challenger).

  • You are correct, those are the SRT-8 catbacks. Installed the SRT8 MBRP so they would bold right up tothe larger flange on the kooks headers And high flow cats

  • I couldnt catch the cats during the install looked like str8 pipes after the headers

  • The parts won't void the warranty per se, but if the service department can blame those aftermarket parts on a problem you want fixed they can deny you service. There's a shit load of variables, I'd say it comes down to how cool your service department is.

  • So far in Canada, the challengers are almost as common as Mustangs. I haven't seen nearly as many Camaros. Having said that, i'm still trading my G35 in on an srt-8 challenger :D

  • There is about a 10k price difference with similar options. The biggest difference is motor size, and the comment above mentions EPS off. The motor in the R/T is a 5.7L Hemi and the SRT8 is a 6.1L Hemi. The 40 hp difference made me lean to the R/T for the price. The EPS full of is nice to drift which is a little harder to do with the partial off in the R/T. Overall, R/T still wins for overall value in my book. Mods can bump the R/T for a lot less to get the 40 hp or more.

  • It's funny to me the new Challenger has a face reminiscent of a Delorean. Both are out of this world designs and both were really built to be more about 'feel' rather than performance. Nice choice in silver that's the way to go!

  • No, ONLY the SRT-8 has the guzzler tax! To me, the SRt is not worth the extra $10,000 for 50HP, and Brembo brakes. I added 50HP for $4000
