Honestly I think Maleficent rising like that, looks much more powerful then the dragon :/ i just HOPE i get to see her rise again before the dragon is put back in

Maleficent always rises in the show even when the dragon is working. She just stays up there a little longer in place of the dragon when the dragon isn't working.

Exactly, but the dragon looks much too puppet to me :P and i think having a live person up there being maleficent with her staff and lighting the rivers of america on fire looks much more violent then the dragon, because the dragon is so big it's movements have to be slow and swift. But i hope i get to see maleficent rise again and do the dragons part, cause in a regular performance she goes down and the dragon comes out very shortly after her appearance

Yeah that is exactly why they are adding a new dragon. They want to make it look more real and finally give it the powerful climax it has been lacking for 17 years.

Don't worry people, dragon will be fixed late September 2009. My sister is in the show as the opening Mickey and the Brave little Taylor Mickey. Hope someday to go watch her and kill a dragon. YEAHH!! ;)

The head did not fall off it sank in alitle then a 10,000 pound fiberglass dragon came falling to the ground. It'll take weeks to fix it. Said an Imagineer.

For any of you who are planning on going here in the near future, the dragon is not in the show.

HUGE dissapointment. I was told it wasn't ready and they have no idea when it is going to be ready.

I sent a letter and they confirmed that they don't know when the dragon will be in.

I think it really sucks because they are using the dragon as the main selling point in all of the ad's.

Murphy (the new dragon) broke during a rehearsal/programing session, and will not be available until later this summer.

I was told the dragons head rolle off its head during a rehersal and that it wouldnt be featured until july 4 or 5th, most likley the fith, i got this from a VERY reliable source.

The new dragon is not going to be ready in time for the launch of their Summer Shows June 12, so this temporary fix will fill in a bit longer : ( Disney had to outsource the dragon because of the scale, and the outside firm has been behind in delivering the finished goods.

No, it is a major re-do at this point. A 40 foot fire breathing dragon is a little tricky ; ) Probably several weeks... but who knows how long it will actually take.

But the new Fireworks show is awesome. Be sure to see it from Main Street if you can... there is a really great surprise they do at the end on Main Street.

At the very end of the Fireworks show, they do a confetti launch over Main Street, it is really cool. They flood the area with Black Light, so the confetti glows a little : )

my dad works at disneys cal adv. and he knows what new attractions are going to be built for both parks. i can tell u guys all future attractions but theres too many and i think its better to leave it as a surprise

They haven't been using the dragon lately because Disneyland's Version of Fantasmic is getting a new Dragon..its supposed to be bigger then the current one they have.. They're still installing it and it will appear after spring break is over....
