Children are like sponges. They learn quickly when they learn. I'm a teacher myself and would be lucky to find a student with this kind of talent or drive. Much of it has to do with the parents too. How much they are willing to support & encourage their child.

Great tone for your age, you're very talented. Take care of the intonation when being emotionally excited, it should stay same and not go up :) How many years were you playing flute? I sounds like you started at 4 or 5 or something?

This is really hard to believe! This means this performance is of someone who plays the flute for two years only?! It sounds like she has at least 5-6 years of intensive practice behind her. She didn't play blockflute or any other instrument before? This highly talented lady should consider coming to Europe to continue her education.

I play since I'm ten, now I'm 18 and I'm still not as good as she is with eleven.

Of course, it's not complete perfect what she does but it's still over the top!

I am truly amazed - I am a professional flutist and started playing when I was seven. I would speculate she practices 2-3 hrs daily, more on weekends. I am sure she will be very successful. She sure emotes passion and has a gorgeous full tone, technique and stage presence. All will make her a marketable and I hate to say that word, but that's so much what the business of music is about these days. I wish her all the best,

I like to hear how you play now. Curtis standard is to accept players that are musical, not technical, same with every school and orchestra. Not bad for an 11 yr/old, but a lot of maturing to do still.

Such discipline and technique for an 11-year-old; she will definitely go far. :-) I hate this piece, but she plays it well. I'm just not a fan of Gary Shocker's, to be honest. Don't like his music, plus the guy's just not very nice, lol.
