Fedor is going to fight this young hungry Japanese guy.

hope Fedor can pull through then maybe fight the best in the world again before he grow older and retire.

Fedor is 35 now, he only have a few more years before he grow too old to compete with young mma fighters anymore.

@AsurasWrath I really don't like the match between Ishii and Fedor at all, I think its really stupid.

1. Fedor has literally NOTHING to gain from this fight, he is a heavy favorite fighting an undersized opponent and if he loses it will be embarrassing.

2.  Unless Fedor employs a safe style like he did against Monson I see him knocking Ishii out cold, and Ishii won't be able to work his Judo that effectively. I really don't want to see a young fighter with a bright future get demolished.

Fedor will gain very little by beating Ishii since Ishii record was 4W1L, but Ishii win in this match in my book so it should be 5W1L because even Paulo Filho himself raise Ishii hand as the winner at the end.

if Ishii beat Fedor, he will gain to fighter rank for sure.

just hope he can pull it off too.

this Ishii guy have potential to be a great fighter in the future.

@AsurasWrath Ishii definitely won this fight, everyone knows it was a robbery. What I'm saying is I feel like Fedor is too much too soon for an up and comer like Ishii. Ishii has a bright future ahead of him. He is clearly disciplined, a world class athlete and REALLY young. I just don't like seeing fighters take such dramatic steps forward, and if Fedor KOs Ishii it could serve to cut his career short.

Either which way Ishii is going to do great things in MMA.

So who do you think he should fight? Do you think he should join an American promotion, maybe?

@HerpatitisC I remember hearing Ishii was going to be signed to the UFC. Ultimately I think Ishii needs to just gradually elevate his level of competition. There is no rush right now so its better that he has a chance to slowly improve since he's only 24. I think feeding a fighter to the wolves just shortens their career, and you don't learn much if the skill gap is too great.

Also ideally Ishii should probably fight at 185 eventually at 5'11. Fedor is too much too soon imo.

I agree even though it would be a huge stepping stone for Ishii to beat Fedor the risks would be far too great. He should fight someone of MMA veterancy status in the future but that is not as well-known or as much of a wolf as Fedor is for an up and coming fighter. For now, I would love to see him have a go at 185 like you said. But with how Fedor fights today, they could both fight when and if Ishii racks up some wins.

1) Ishii looks really slim and fit.

2) It would be nice to see his grappling skills pitted against the likes of some of the top guys in his weight class (what is his weight class, LHW?)

3) He still is a sleep-inducing pillow, in terms of his fight style. He needs to open it up.
