  • That should work if the sun is directly overhead, but for wintertime or early or late in the day, a top that slants forward would be a little better. To keep food inside from spilling, a free swinging shelf attached to the sides both allows the food to not spill and also allows heat to circulate underneath. Reflectors help a lot too. On a bright sunny day your cooker will work, but for more marginal days, you'll need some alterations to the design I think. Good job though.
