Hey also for some reason, when i save the skin as a BMP, and make it Indexed, the skin isn't in IL-2 at all, and I saved it as indexed with BMP.

Hey, for some reason, when I go to the download thing, there is nothing but the Mac's Page Curl and Remove White,Page Curl 1, Page Curl 2, and Remove White. But when I go to the download button, its says "Download MacFilters", and when I do, it saves as a .ZIP file, and it doesnt let me chose where to put it. I don't know why this is, but I would really like some help.

@WoyxProshots I have to say that the files were deleted, as I no longer have a hosting account with the host. I will try to reload them, but I cant think where I would be able to locate the files, Try to do a google search for Mac's remwhite, and post on the IL2 site as there are people who could share the files with you. Painters Pro will also have them I am pretty sure

a 5 minute skin can be achieved if details arent necessary. hilight this skin or whatever one, bring image quality to 16million 24bit. paste graphic over it, then lower quality to 8bit and save as a bmp. works every tiem. but this also paints tires and props everythign but glass. once flying not noticeable though

@GuineaForce They will see your plane as you painted it IF they have the option Skin Download on, if they do not they will see a stock skin

YES IT WORKED!!! but didnt work fully when I followed ur tutorial video, I didnt know about making it into INDEX JUST before I save it, and thats what fucked me. but now am making skins. so thanks "in a way"

@GuineaForce You need to turn it back it "Indexed" so that the game can see the skin, otherwise you may not be able to see it in game.

It is the same format, however RemWhite does not work with CS3, so you have to select the color white and delete it. everything is the same after that.

I made a skin in photoshop, but it doesn't work because its 3.00 MB. How do I reduce it to 1.00 MB so it will work, the orginal photoshop file of it was 2.90 MB. how do you get it to 1.00 MB, so that it works in the game ?

Sorry I removed your comment by mistake. Have you returned the file to INDEXED instead of RGB. RGB will not render in game. I never had a problem with the file size in the past.

this is really helpful, cos I had no Idea how to save it properly. but with the newer versions of photoshop you dont need remove white. you can click on the box above layers that says "normal" and click on the option "multiply". it has the same effect but is easier.

sure all you have to do is save it , anyplace on your Computer. Then you will have to have to open the actions, panel, I cannot recall off hand how to do that, but it is located with HISTORY, so I think it is WINDOW>ACTION...

anyhow once open you will have to LOAD ACTION, there is a little icon on the upper right of the ACTION box, looks like a few lines or a sheet of paper, here is where you will find the option to LOAD action.

Locate the ACTION file you saved to your computer and it will load.

Well the templates work on layers, if you can imagine old cartoon gells, they work like a stack of paper one ontop of the ther, the higher up the stack the more it covers everything under it. So when you work with the template think of the LAyers in that fashion, what ever is ontop is the most visible, you can find tutorials about layers and photoshop, and adapt them to your purpose,

when i do it, i dont paint entirely inside the lines, i go out a bit, so that im sure that it is fully covered, the rivets will give you a general idea of where the wind ends, then you just color outside of the rivets a bit to ensure success. You can always add or remove a little paint here and there if you dont like it in game.

Is mac's remove white working with PS CS3 Extended? It seems not working with it. When I put filter in ../Filters and start PS I get an error: U can't run this program becuse component MSVCRT10.dll couldn't be found. You can solve this problem by unistalling the program. Then PS work's normally but there's no mac's filter.

Any ideas?

Inever use rem white with CS3, I have the program CS3, however, I just have yet to install it, i am still able to use PS7.0 to do all I need, perhaps there is a conflict with REM white and CS 3, I am sorry , I know that Page Curl by the same craeator works well with CS 3 there does seem to be a few threads out there reguarding CS3 and RW not working together.

you can "repaint" however you wish, the only thing to remember is that the shape of the aircraft and the windows are pre defined, but it works just like a car from ford or toyota, you can paint anything on them you want to! you cna paint any AIRCRAFT in the game, and you can also fly non flyable aircraft too, but you cannot go in the cockpit of these aircraft, the game is very flexable

Is it possible to REPLACE some of the skins that were already there with your own? It always bothered me how the German and Finnish markings on the aircraft were incorrect and I was hoping to paint them on there. (On most German aircraft in WWII, they had swastikas on the tails and the Finnish markings also represent blue swastikas. Thats what I hope to put back on the aircraft)

Ok I will try to make it alot simpler, and SLOWER< the third layer (to the best of my meory) is just a new layer, the one I paint on.

YOu should start with a background of white, then you will have a new layer that you created with remove white, then you shoudl create a new layer that you will paint on.

in the end the DETAILS layer will be at the top

the painted layer(s) in the middls and the background on the bottom.

I know that i went a little fast, but there is a time restraint
