  • Listen, I appreciate that it is very hard for the child of a famous director to make her own steps out of his shadow.

However, when trying to do so I think it would be wise to avoid tracing over the basic plot lines of ...Twin Peaks, her father's iconic creation.

  • Well, it is hard to be a film maker. I don want people to give her a bad wrap just because she is related to Lynch. Is she as good, better, or worse than sophia coppol? Do we like her films? Can you truly appreciate an artist as they live in the deep dark shadow of someone like David or Francis?

Id like to think so, because in the art world we are lying in the shadows of the best. Its only when we are over saturated with horrible media do we forget this.

  • 1:25

  • my name is jennifer lynch i just put my name into the search bar and pressed enter

  • FUCK JENNIFER LYNCH, she took out a crazy way to park a car vid.. (copyrights) which was really crazy

  • i like jen she is so professional and does not work for money but because she loves the art of cinema

  • Sounds like Twin Peaks to me, lol

  • as father, as daughter, i loved Bill Pullman in lost highway, this is worth a watch.

  • The hand. The hand is going off in its own little world.

  • Well she's nowhere near her father, and I don't see why she doesn't try to find her own voice...

  • Everybody has always talked shit about Boxing Helena, but I love that movie. Sad thing is though is that I can't watch it anymore because I relate to it so much :8

  • I hated this movie.

  • I'm a huge fan of her father.. but the film is a travesty..

  • Nepotism. It's fantastic. :)

  • SURVEILLANCE is a truly DREADFUL film!!! Stupid, ugly, predictable and gratuitous. At least David Lynch shows the good as well as evil. This film has a mother being forced to watch her son being executed before being blown away herself, as well as other equally meaningless, nasty episodes....why Julia Ormond needed to be in such crap is beyond me.

  • Apparently talent isn't hereditary...

  • I could not say enough good about this movie. Pullman AND Ormand do their greatest performances ever. All the characters are absolutely fascinating. Every moment of the movie was enthralling. Jennifer deserves an oscar for directing. Every actor was excellent. The story was constantly entertaining. One of the absolute best movies of the year, if not the decade.

  • Like Daughter, Like Father

  • @SeanConnery9000 Not even close...Compare The Elephant Man (David) to Boxing Helena (Jennifer), and see if they're comparable... I make you a bet, your head will explode...

  • Elephant Man is one of the few David Lynch films that isn't too bizarre.

Compare ALL these films: Lost Highway, Blue Velvet & Wild at Heart all to Boxing Helena.

Plus, Jennifer has only done 2 films but like her father, I get just as unpleasant a reaction as expected

  • @SeanConnenery Yes, admittedly David has an uncanny way of making people squirm weather it`s scenery or just atmosphere, but there`s a fluidity about it. With Jennifer`s 2 movies Boxing Helena, which was so poorly received (and bankrupted Kim Basinger) then she waited 15 years to deliver Surveillance which is just as abysmal. She is a carbon copy of her Dad and definitely not a good one. I `ll take her Father`s work any time. You should check out David`s The Straight Story. Absolutely Beautiful

  • Straight Story & Elephant Man are the only good David Lynch films

  • @SeanConnery9000 I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you, Blue Velvet was a masterstroke...

  • @SeanConnery9000 so you only like the g rated ones? the ones lynch didnt write.

  • Dear @SeanConnery9000 -

not only were these good films, but GREAT ones. As are Mullholland Drive, Eraserhead and the series Twin Peaks. Have yet to see Lost Highway and Blue Velvet, but have complete faith in them.

  • @SeanConnery9000 fuck you, darling.

  • @SeanConnery9000

Hmm... My favorite David Lynch movies are probably (in no particular order): The Straight Story, The Elephant Man, and Wild At Heart o.o

  • @SeanConnery9000 You know you're weird when your most straightforward movie is about a hideously deformed person.

  • Looks kind of interesting. She's great, I used to listen to Oddio all the time. The Laura Palmer book was really well done too.

  • Dude.. is the little blonde chick from Wonder Showzen?

  • She looks, acts, and talks like her Father. It's female David Lynch!

  • Um, no. David Lynch has gravitas.

  • You don't know her!

  • She wrote the book -Laura Palmer's Secret Diary as a gimmick and supplement type thing for the movie Fire Walk With Me, It was awesome! I highly recommend it. It was pretty F**kin erotic also.

I always thought it was kind of weird because I'm sure her father must have read it and kind of got a glimpse into his daughter's perverted mind.

Very good book. Check it out.

  • you're right

  • this was a fucking dope movie... one of my favorite this year.

  • she shud o went under a sydonum-fuck dat-a fake name if she wanted to make films and be juged away from her fathers legacy,r just realeased it under a fake name

  • you sound retarded

  • yes i cant spell wat im trying to say is she should of released her films under a fake name so the film would be judged solely on her artistic merit rather den straightened up against her fathers films

  • No kidding, Mumusthereal! She sounds like a caricature of her father!

  • yeah i agree she wants to be like her father but she isn't like him....... noone is lke david lynch.

But the film is quite cool ^^

  • It's bad enough that we subconsciously assume that bad stuff can happen to us in the dark. Thanks to Jen now we can feel a little uneasy during the daytime. Gee, thanks Jen. :)

  • Jeez you can really see who taught her to talk

  • This looks absolutely amazing...Nice work grabbin Pullman too.

  • The movies has so many papa lynch vibes to it. I didnt even know it was directed by her and still thought after I saw it that it had to some how be related to david lynch.

  • They seems to share the fish theory.

  • Well, silly editing aside... it made me really want to see this!

Going up London this weekend to buy it!

    Beth (Trembling Blue Stars)

  • i love it when they make me look crazy.

    jen

  • today i saw the movie. and it was really good!

I liked it a lot! Somwhow I didn´t hear anything about it befor and I was really happy to see Movie by Jeninnifer Lynch, years after Boxing Helena wish I adored in my Youth! So I went blank insinde and totally got it! This is a really - really god movie! I have to cook on the depth of it for some while.

  • The Senario and the PEOPLE are really scary and faszinating: it discribes perfectly my feelings bout the american great new depression which is going on for while: saying that as a german, so I can just guess what it feels like being an american in america these days! But I think I got a feeling after tonights watching! I am truely amaized and inspired by that greate picturesin the movie! Beatyful work!

    Wow! Thank You Miss Lynch!
