DjGizzo, sorry to tell you, but I'm a Mac user, and I do have protection. Virus Barrier X4 by Intego. I never go without anti-virus even if the Mac platform is self-confident. Ironically, in over a year of ownership, X4 has only detected one virus and eradicated it. It was cool when it happened. You should of been there. It speaks and everything. For a Mac user, it's like Christmas when it happens. Really fun. lol
interesting but worring for all those that do have macs without protection that a virus has actualy been detected on a mac im thinking of getting a mac with one of those windows programs for the best of both worlds
DjGizzo, yeah, I have Windows XP on my Mac in Parallels. I don't really use Boot Camp. I could always upgrade from Tiger to Leopard, but I've played three major titles since I've had my Mac, and I've never really been forced to get Boot Camp and Leopard. I'm fine with Tiger. Yeah, it really is the best of both worlds. Parallels can run all the Windows apps, but if you want high end Windows games, you need OS X Leopard.
i see im thinking more for work but performance is important dont get them stalls or if you do they would clear faster with higher speck iv been waiting for 4 years for 3ghz to be affordable but some bright spark invented duel core and decided to skin everybody twice for the same speck as most people dont need anything more than an inet machine
I've had my Mac over a year, and I've never had a freeze. One time, I got a bad update, but I just simply downloaded the complete package and Tiger ran fine. But, that wasn't really a freeze. Nah, no freezes. Runs perfect after a year. With the Vista mess, now is the best time to change to a Mac. Like you said... you can run any operating system on a Mac now. Windows programs. Everything.
Just make sure when you create your jam up website in iWeb that you save your domain file. I lost my entire website on a Logic Board repair, and I had to rebuild the whole thing from the web design. From scratch. If I didn't have a Mac to do it, I would have been in a horrible mood. But, rebuilding a site on a Mac is a piece of cake. Not like Windows. Thank goodness for iWeb.
Website? Oh my! If you want a nice website and easily be able to change things just by dragging this and dropping that... you need a Mac for sure. It would make your life so much easier. All I do is open up iWeb and change whatever. You'd love it. Best bet is to just get you an 20" iMac with 256 megs of video RAM for abotu $1,799. Refurbished though is even less.
:) I just finished Tombraider: Anniversary Edition on my Mac with the logitech dual action joystick. It was such an awesome game. I played the original over a decade ago when it came out. Back then it was just pixels and trashed up. lol Pretty cool to play the new and improved with today's graphics on my Mac. It was a lot of fun. :)
i gave up on tomb raider 1 on the saturn the grafics were that poor i couldnt hardly play the game iv also given up on tomb raider legend cus too many times you do bit then get totaly stuck on something stupedly easy but impossible unless you know how
i watched a few tube clips to help but im playing shenmue 2 on the 360 now
I didn't even see that you were a DJ. You definitely need a Mac now. You can run your own podcast and pick all the music you want. Play it over iTunes and stuff. You can even run the music or your own mixes from your web page using podcasts on a blog you can create with iWeb. You would love it.
If you play a lot of games though, you might want to go with the new 24" iMac with 512 megs of video ram and OS X Leopard. All macs now come with Leopard pre-installed.
2 the only reason why not so many is becuase less then 25% of the computer owning population owns one, therefor it's boring to make a virus for them becuase almost no one gets screwed over.
also apple just lost 100mill to creative labs for copy right infringment on their ipods. they settled it out of court, could you imagine how much they would've lost in court?

True Dat. Making a Virus for any Apple is a waste of time. No one is dumb enough to run their company on Apple's platform.
