In 1970, The Beatles tragically broke up. But what would their next album have sounded like? Well, assuming they would let George and Ringo do more writing and that Billy Preston would become a full member of the band, I've put together a collection of solo music from 1971 that I feel combines to form an album whose 40th anniversary we COULD have been celebrating this year.

Paul McCartney still standing 12/11/10. All other serious musicians bit the dirt. All that is left now is trash. Everybody out to make a quick dollar with no serious talent. Lady Gaga, Brittney Spears, etc, can play an instrument or read a damn musical note. When you really think about it there is NO ONE with NO MUSICAL ABILITY like Paul's out there or even comes close. But, he is not in it for the money any more do you think??? I don't think that I heard he had money problems!!!!

@Decoy8 Just what i though,i be quite happy just to sit back and enjoy the music rather than moan all the bloody time about the running order.So what's the damn big deal if the songs are not in order,as i said over and over again with no one having the common sence to understand that i could not have all the songs in order because at the time of making this,you only had 10 min's of video playing time allowed.

!) The songs did not have to be in order.Buy the bloody album to hear the running order.

2) At the time you are only allowed to have 10 minutes to each video.Hence i put the best songs in,so their did not overlap.

3) The other reason was due to copyright!!!!!

I see e'one is giving you crap for the songs being out of order. Im an Abbey Rd FREAK, I have a web site dedicated JUST to this album, Im such a freak about it, think it's the best album EVER, so not to come down on your head like Maxwell, it is like fingernails on a blackboard to have Abbey out of order, ESP. Side 2. The Medley has GOT to be in order, as Stuka points out. Love the images. I'm just sayin'

I pesonally don't care about the running order, but it was a lovely surprise to listen from 7 onwards. Thought it was gone, but no it wasn't. Whatever order its in, it is still fantastic.

@TheBeatlesYears2 the album really is an amazing experience to listen to start to finish, it all builds up to this huge powerful climax, plus all the songs blead into each other, it just doesnt do proper justice to have the album out of order. an album is looked at these days like a bunch of songs slapped together, but i like to think of an album as a whole piece, its like watching a movie where all the scenes are skipping around

Golden Slumbers was based on the words to a poem by Thomas Dekker of the same name - with one difference. "Sleep pretty wantons, do not cry" as opposed to McCartney's 'darling'. Good change? I think so.

its a continuous album side, i mean, you cant screw up the order of the songs ESPECIALLY ON AN ALBUM LIKE THIS.

and the thing is side two is a continuous album side and the songs all go together after "Come Together" without stopping. It's funny it's after the song "Come together" now that i think about it.

I've been listening to this album for about 20 or so years now just so you should know.

And that is the way it is supposed to go.... period.... if it isn't in that order, then it is messed up.

Each song goes directly into the next without a stop between songs like most albums, and heck unlike almost any other album in that time period. No band hardly ever does that even now. It's like one big long song after "Come together" until the end of the album

I think its fantastic, its my favorited album of all time. i've listened to it thousands of times...... so i think i know the order of the songs ;-)...... so when you have polythen pam on part 4 or whatever and then you have it on part 5 too .... yah ..... you just have the order all screwed up, and it is upsetting to me not to be able to listen to it from start to finish the way it is SUPPOSED to go.
