check disk dosnt work on hard drives with lost drive letters and/or image

if you lose the indexes of the files you need specialty software...

run > cmd > chkdsk /f

does it for you that quick, although if your HDD is completely crashed, i hooked another HDD simultaneously with the same operating system installed, upon start the good HDD scanned and FIXED practically all major problems with the disk. deleted files that were bad and recovered data lost on shitty sectors

some people aren't very smart bc if u know your hard drive is about to crash you need 3 thangs a flash drive to save the files you really wont and a new hard drive they are not expensive 250 gb is like 30 or 40 dollers on a desk top (not shure about a laptop) and a new os cd those can be in the 200 but it beats buying a new computer just use the curent hard drive until it crashes just install the new hard drive and os and you have a new computer in like 2-3 hrs. cuz of the updates problem solved

Yeah what im having trouble with is that it gets past the windows log in logo then the screen stays blank. i can still do stuff on my computer.. just cant see shit. i typed in my password assuming i was at the screen and it worked. is there anyway i can restore the display settings from the desktop without seeing anything to do it? like hitting a key. :D

How the fuck can i fix my computer if i cant start it? It just gets to the Windows Xp logo and that thing who runs back and Forward and that it. It comes up a Blue Screens for 1 sec and then it restarts!

That could have been caused by an update for the BIOS or something. I've had the same problem. If it is like a vista laptop with xp on it, then you upgrade the BIOS then this will happen. You need to go into your BIOS and change the boot to IDE. Then XP will load.

@MxDude1234 your problem is you have a loop where it keeps going and going, but you have to go in safe mode and fix it from there i had same problem

hi Dave i have a problem maybe you can help. my hard drive is 76.3gb and i have only 7.20 gb thats empty.. i have deleted 99.9 pecent of old emails,pictures,videos,music and i have run your recover hard drive crash and im still at the same amount of gb,,,am i doing something wrong . I added some extra ram about 3 months ago to give me my 76.3gb and i cant see me having it full already can you help me figure it out
