@GlenShannon Albert System A-German, we (American's if I presume you to be) play a French style system called Boehm. First standardized on flutes by Theobold Boehm it was adapted for clarinet by Hyacinth Klose and thus the system used in French styled clarinets.

@tentacle1984 Thanks for this info. Yes, American. I am familiar with the name Boehm system on flutes, but played clarinet for years and years without knowing any other key system but mine was still in use- and never knew who developed it either. The subject just never came up!
