  • This seems like a lot of work. I think i'll just jump of my house.

  • i do support this idea and the whole Exit ethos but i do feel tht the making of this pill it is far too intricate!

  • Amazing to watch the process. And thank you for sharing it with us.

  • I personally do not agree with euthanasia but I also don't think anyone has the right to impede anybody else's personal choice.

  • WHY THE FUCK IS THIS ON THE BLACKLIST WEBSITE FOR AUSTRALIA?

  • @Deadalious Why are YOU browsing that list... Dear god

  • @Deadalious I FOUND ANOTHER BLACKLIST LURKER!? HUZZAH!

  • So much work! Is there a lazy person's version?

  • my mom passed away from cancer it was horrible how much pain medication they give her fuck the government and the pharmaceutical companies i wil never be the same after she passed away i want to find nembutal so i can end my life its to much pain every day

  • "Safety is of the utmost importance" WTF?! Your killing yourself!

  • yeah this is fail, all this work just coz ur scared of a bit of pain before dieing, just hang urself, works every time and only hurts for a little bit.

  • @paraboleh hanging tends to leave a horrible looking body. Would you want your loved ones to possibly find you with a swollen purple face, gaping mouth, eyes rolled up to the back of your head, and bleeding out of your orifices? Also, hanging doesn't work every time, there have been people who have ended up brain damaged because the rope broke, or the knot came lose, before it could kill them. No one should have to go through that just for a peaceful death.

  • @paraboleh

I hope you die of cancer very slowly where it takes a year to kill you off after months & months of chemotherapy. Then I hope somebody says to you hey it is just a little bit of pain before you die no big deal.

  • so it appears that this has also been placed on the australian internet filters blacklist.

  • Do they sell LSD kits? I hope so...

  • This made me incredibly sad. When I feel it is my time to die, I want to be able to progress with dignity. Why are the dying accorded so much less compassion and help than the worst offenders of society?

  • anyone knows the details of this experiment ?

or maybe where i may find them ?

  • This video was on the ban list for Australian censorship. For any government thug looking at my comment because you're in control.. let people take control of their lives and stop being a nanny state.

  • @muderousegg

That's where i found this, fucked up.

  • It's horrible that even people who are old and/or terminally ill can't die with dignity.

  • old people are awesome! They don't care about being busted lol!!

  • Australia's law on not being able to take your own life.

Is almost the same as to saying we're not allowed to touch our own bodies.

  • Why cant they just swallow a bottle of sleeping pills ?

  • @bonzaibb12 . There not very effective, even with alcohol

  • @jget67 Thanks. I guess that's why when you hear of someone purposely overdosing on pills they always survive.

  • Maybe if I dressed up like a dog (like Butters in South Park) and went to a vet they would put me down.. Goodbye cruel world!

  • The Nursing home oppose Euthanasia and fund the anti-euthanasia because they make huge amount of money of the old people. They want you to stay alive in diaper as long as they can to extract money from govt.

  • err question... if they all want to off themselves why r they wearing safety gear??? wouldnt it just be easier microwave a butane can or something...

  • @gnortsrm ---HELLO! The whole objective is to CHOOSE to die peacefully!!

  • @gnortsrm Idiot

  • This is horrific. People who seek to end their lives with dignity should not be forced to do this.

  • My science project: killing myself.

  • This is complicated. It would be easier for me to just jump off a VERY tall building. But I won't be doing it sober!

  • Pity this video is on the ACMA black list and will not be accessible from Australia sometime next year.

  • throw in the exhaust pipe. painless and quick.

  • @AmbassadorOfQuan

actaully, its not painless, and its not quick!! nembutal remains one of the quicklest and most painless way of dying with dignity. at least respect these oldies for having the guts to organise themselves so they can die with dignity when the time comes!~!

  • @valbutler41 yeah, I hear with all the steady lower emissions these days you're likely just to get a head ache than passing anyway.

  • So you'd probably die of old age long before you actually managed to figure out that long drawn out technical process. I wonder if all those oldies got some of the 'baking' to take home with them. I can't imagine many of them being able to replicate that process at home. The Helium or Nitrogen hood method seems far easier and less risky. Imagine if you somehow got the Nembutal method wrong and you just end up taking something that burns your insides out, and you end up totally fecked !

  • Well you would be stupid to go through all that trouble and not utilize Exits testing facilities or testing kits prior to drinking your creation.

  • @nzmarc yeah the nitrogen hood sounds the way to go to me as well

  • Comment removed

  • I would say that these days pain medication is quite effective if that's what these old folks (they don't look too ill) are trying to escape, and to get a script for something like Oxycontin probably wouldn't be too hard for them at all, they give it to teenagers! That will put you in a happy cloud until you died. Also try anti-depressants? Btw, there are other very easy ways to knock one's self off, like just OD on an opiate or other prescription medication. Seems like a complex solution here.

  • It may not just be pain that they are wanting to avoid it could be number of things

Such as financial burden to their families or some thing as small as use of bad pans

  • While the process here looks difficult, the fact remains that the end product they create Pentobarbital is the holy grail when it comes to self deliverance, no opiate or prescription med even comes close to the reliability, peacefulness and speed in which this drug can kill you. You simply take an anti-emetic, pour this into a glass and within a min after drinking it you are in a coma and minutes later you're gone. Its the drug they use in every official euthanasia clinic worldwide.

  • how do you know they don't have a reason?

  • @iamsamlarsen TWAT

  • It should not be this difficult to chose to end ones own life in a peaceful and dignified way.

  • Each to their own but I want something simple I can drink. If you're desperate enough to put a plastic bag over your head, with gas cylinders and tubes and what not then that's what you'll do. I want it as peaceful and dignified as possible without causing any more distress to my loved ones than necessary.

  • Derek Humphry's plastic bag method is so much simpler!

  • Hmph. Seems like a lot of effort just to make a pill to off yourself. Why not just make the pills and sell them?

  • Did anyone else see irony that they all used safety equipment to make a pill used to kill themselves?

  • lol this is banned in australia

  • disgraceful that it requires one's own ChemLab

& that a pack of geriatrics are forced to creep about to take care of themselves

we ALL die eventually: the tragedy is that our gov'ts & healthcare providers are more worried about Legal Implications' than caring for the many of us who die in lingering miseries

We treat our beloved pets with more compassion than we treat our own Loved Ones

There are pragmatic, compassionate & flexible approaches to accommodate all personal preferences on dying

  • thank you EXIT, hopefully one day we will all have the choice to do as we wish with our own lives.

  • why?

  • eek! protect your hands and eyes while killing yourself!

  • FFS stupid blacklist, Australia is going to shit, god damn goverment

  • I'm just comming from the Black List.

They just gave this video free advertisment.

  • Yep +1.

  • lol same here

  • Same here I'm scanning their ban list as we speak. This YouTube link is definitely not child porn... Does that idiot Conroy really think he can sneak shit in without the public knowing?

Conroy is a waste of our damn money if he even thinks this approach to censorship will even work. He clearly didn't think this through enough and I bet he doesn't even know what the term 'Proxy' even is...

  • The majority of that list was not child porn, but a lot was just plain old porn porn.

I have three questions: Why is this video listed not suitable for minors? What the heck is Exit International? And how could such brilliant people in this video come together for such a destructive project?

  • It's a really weird situation I find myself in. I really want to troll through their ban list. Not to look at child porn (obviously) but to catch shit like this. The fact that a euthanasia video was on the blacklist makes my hairs twinge.

  • same. everyone vote +5 for this video so everyone can see.

  • Toons of stupid crap like this in there.

  • this page is on the ACMA blacklist :S

  • That why im wacthing it

  • Couldn't we, like, get in major trouble for being in possesion of this list? Eh, who cares.

brb, CTRL + F for the next banned youtube video.

  • this page is kind of creepy in a way :S

it's like suicide basically, i'm not "anti-euthanasia" but i find making your own suicide pill somewhat scary.

  • I am strong believer that people should have control over the way they want to die if they are suffering from a terminal condition...what is the point of suffering until the very end? yes i agree that there are ethical values associated to this issue but in the end it should be people's choice

  • I am sorry you feel that way and I am sorry that such a "religious" person like you is unable to accept other people's opinion! your comments are the evidence that proves how intolerant religion and religious people can be...open your mind and stop acting like a robot...I am not the stupid one you are...

  • yep, asinine is a good word for both of your messages

  • Religion is a drug....people need to fight it.!! how can you live you live based on a book written 2000 years ago? do you want to be suffering trapped into a bed? do you want to be fed and cleaned by other people for the rest of your "life"? The bible does not know nothing about human suffering! it is just a book written by other people like you and me! and religion is the root of all evil in the world...

  • you sound like a young person who knows best. I'm part of the 85% of te world's people who have a faith. Did not know until your learned note, that we were actually all wrong. Silly me. Thanks for putting us all straight

  • you are very welcome...i always do my best. Sometimes it takes one to bring (85%) back to reality....Gallileu was called a fool when he discover that the planet was not flat but a sphere ...85% were wrong. 1 was right...see what i mean...people kill each other for "religion" think about it...

  • man.....nothing stirs up people quite like religion...i myself, am not. however i believe that people with faith are generally better offf even if i think they are ignorant and arrogant in their thoughts, they are certainly more happy.

  • You know, the percentage of people in the world who believe the same thing YOU believe is actually *significantly* lower.

  • By the look of it you need a degree in chemistry to obtain the desired result. Surely there must be something easier than this. Any old person in great pain and suffering might find all this a bit long and tedious.

  • I am pro-choice, who the fuck are you to say what I should or shouldn't do with my life.

  • Of course if you can obtain Nembutal you don't need to go through all this, but in some countries it's unavailable.

  • This seems unnecessarily complicated.

  • Why they use all the safety thing if they wanna die anyway?

  • LMFAO!

  • This is complicated as hell.

  • This is really usefull for my euthanasia coursework but i dont see how a person who is considering euthanasia could make this themselves?

  • true it's not realistic. A bag over the head with a constant stream of helium entering the bag is a more realistic option for sick people.

  • Humanity has diminished the value of life

  • I am delighted this info is out there and have become a member of Exit International. This is a crazy world. We expose all manner of intimate, private matters all over cyberspace. Why should we ignore a topic that simply MUST be addressed by our communities. Our medical advances are giving us the "opportunity" to live much longer but there is no regard for the QUALITY of life left. My mom is 86 and frail,a life extended unnaturally, able to do very little, praying each night is her last one.

  • Simply apalling this information is brought down by "Youtube users" imposing their eccentric, sadistic, historically irrelevant, big business-driven "morality" on the consensus of nature and culture for millennia. But also VERY revealing of the regime we live under of thought control, surveillance, and secrecy.

  • I'm bloody rubbish at science, and would be extremely likely to screw this up.

  • If you don't believe in eternal life, then when the lights go out you won't miss a thing.. if you do I would think God would understand, I'm an idiot and I would understand... for fuck sake, this isn't about killing yourself because your boyfriend left you.. the death rate is exactly 1 per person, and suffering an agonizing death is simply prolonging the inevitable... Damn I wish people would use their fucking brains for something worthwhile

  • After 4 1/2 days in hospital, someone completely broke my mother's arm in a spiral fracture & didn't tell anyone. The day she was admitted, I had fed her 8 cups of thick liquid. The hospital was unable to feed her, and somehow got fluid in her lungs, causing pneumonia. They wouldn't put a feeding tube in her because they were afraid they'd break her other arm, which was stiff from not being flexed every day, so they starved her w/no narcotics till the second day of starving. Agonizing death.

  • they did the same thing to my father. but they couldn't even properly diagnose him. we had to ride a rollercoaster every time we walked into that damn hospital room. a different doctor each day and each day another diagnoses. they fed my father some thick liquids and he couldnt eat. they tried to shove the tube down his throat but no success. they finally gave up and just kept over dosing him with meds til he couldn't eat and so he starved and this all went on for 1 month. kaiser killed him

  • I find that the clergy is not particularly good at gauging human sensibilities. They deal in absolute, unfeeling, dogmatic rules that in reality do not help anyone at all. Your misinterpretations of your own book is wholly based on tradition. In other words your sect has agreed on exactly HOW you will all misinterpret the book. Your reference to a "lake of fire" is one of these. That lone passage also says that DEATH will be placed there as well. Figure THAT out...

  • Christ died for me - did He CHOOSE to die for me? If so, hasn't He thus committed suicide? I believe in a merciful God, one who would not condemmn a person to hell for wanting to join him a little earlier.

  • The Hell with it this is too much work.

  • whats the alternative the Rope??????????

  • All People should have the right to die with dignity while all their body works and not in pain. All people should have to right to die peacfully and the stupid laws in Australia make people do(As in Video)to stop the pain and move on to a better life.

  • by slve problems thay mean commit suicide. i find it sad that they have to do this

  • I suggest we go to cnkalliance's YouTube account and give them 1-star ratings on all their videos.

  • Can somebody of you translate it into German, please?

    Step by step...

    Thank you!!

  • xxxxx

  • If those people are suicidal why is he wearing a safety thing over his face? Pointless.

  • You've missed the point! They're NOT SUICIDAL. They're realistic. They know what old age/infirmity may bring. They do NOT want to die right now (hence the protective clothing). They just want to have information and means to leave - at the time of their own choosing. Please volunteer to work in an old-age facility where people are intellectually "all there", but their body has let them down - or in a ward where people are dying in pain due to ineffective palliative care. Open your eyes & heart.

  • Are you mentally retarded? The whole point of the exerciswe is Death with Dignity and if they get hurt then they could be place in a position where they cannot control their desired desting ie Death with dignity. It's the laws(in Australia) that are pointless.

  • manduh87: They are not suicidal bonehead, they are making a rational decision to avoid the indignity of needles and intolerable suffering.

  • 1. Slitting your wrists is unreliable and usually only used as a suicide gesture or cry for help. 2. Most people who overdose eventually wake up in an intensive care unit, unless they have ingested powerful restricted drugs in overdose such as morphine or short acting barbiturates without having developed tolerance for those drugs (in order to prevent vomiting Dramamine is required). Sometimes I get suprised how ignorant people are.

  • I dont get why they have to make this stuff? Its more effort to do that, then it is to overdose or slit your wrists.

Im not sure if i agree with euthanasia or not but this is just weird...

  • OKay... i9s there a detailed recipe for this process ... which includes quantities, timing, etc. THE REAL COMPLETE PROCESS PLEASE?????

and, secondly, HAS ANYONE TESTED THE RESULTS OF THIS PROCESS FOR QUALITY?

  • I didn't find this video all that useful. Freezing to Death, Carbon Monoxide poisoning and Sleeping Pills with plastic bag over the head still seem like the best, easiest and clean methods. This video was difficult to follow.

There is also the nicotine recipe (over 60mgs) but not sure if this is painful or not... drinking a pound of salt was used back in ancient china to induce a heart attack but this may be too hard for some people to actually force themselves to go through.

  • This isn't meant to be an instruction manual. They are just showing the progress they've been making. The hope is that one day the process will be easy enough that the average person will be able to obtain Nembutal (pentobarbital), even if they themselves aren't capable of creating it.

  • what the hell is that coiled metal looking stuff in the beggining looks like snakes.

  • Why make things so difficult and complex? Innstead of making your own peacefull pill with lots of wierd stuff in it, the state could just put up a firering squad in every city, and then people who felt like dying could just go and stand in front of it. "Are you sure you want to die?"

    "Yeah, Im ready"

    "3.2.1" - Bang.

Offcourse obiously drunk ore druged people would have to be denied access. "come back when you are sober"

  • move on.

  • diy euthanasia, no thanks!

  • Death is a natural part of life.

Some cultures handle it differently. They sit with their dying one, try to help them. Its a family affair where the dying loved one is surrounded by the ones who love them.

Here in our western world death is seen as the enemy. Its an affront to the medical profession because it proves that they cannot do everyting.

We hide our dying out of the way, hidden in dark corners because we are so afraid of it.

in the end we all die. I'd like mine to be with dignity.

  • I agree with you 100%

  • I don't know how I feel about this.

I believe people should be able to live their lives as they want but the thought of 'legalising' it as it were and then sick and/or elderly people who do not believe in it being pressured into it so as not to be a burden to others concerns me. This is a problem in the Netherlands now and it is very sad... yet the alternative, to keep people alive when they are suffering, is very sad too.

    As I said, I really don't know.

  • Legality would most likely safeguard patients against abuse, and ensure their "informed consent".

  • not an "easy" process. It's good to see people being proactive about it.

  • wow.

  • How incredibly funny.

All the talk about extreme safety measures, yet they are making something with which they want to KILL themselves :-))))

  • Your comment is stupid. These folk don't want to die RIGHT NOW. They enjoy life. But they are wise enough to understand that life can become unbearable when one is sick and in pain. When used, the pills will need to be 100% effective. Therefore they are dangerous, and safety measures are needed.

  • The stupidity of your comment is almost funny. Hmm, lets dip our hands in some water and throw some sodium in shall we? I mean, we want to painlessly kill ourselves at a time in the future so why not cause some excrutiatingly painful non-lethal injuries now?? I can hear the studio-laughter now. STFU&GTFO!

  • FYI, Australia is where the infamous Dr Philip Nitschke and Peter Singer come from.

  • And your point is?????

  • Some people see them as eugenicists.

Dr. Nitschke got my vote in last month's Federal election. He didn't win, but Kevin Andrews' seat is now a marginal one.

  • ChoofMonster Dont forget Jack Kavorkian- he was the first to confront the madness of dying

  • this dosent show you how to make anything

all i can see them mixing things together

it dosent even tell you the ingerdients

  • Ok, you are fond of slippery slope arguments. So do you agree that if voluntary euthanasia could be legalized in such a way that there was no threat that people would be involuntary euthanased, then it should be legalized? If you don't agree with this then you will need to offer something other then a slippery slope argument.

  • I can think of nothing worse than being able to neither move nor speak, having one tube down my throat and another one up my ass, and having some religious sadist telling me I have the right to suffer but not to die. If you bible bashers want your lives to end that way, fine. I, along with many others, don't.

  • 5micky2 There is something worse...allowing the all knowing Medical establishment to have total control of your life- so they can extract the last dime from a dying persons estate. Insurance companies have interests in Hospitals and treatment centers- thus taking money from the left pocket to be put into the right! Dont ya just love it? I agree with you...and personally wish for the right to a peaceful exit. STAY WELL!!!

  • I agree. When we see animals suffer what do we do? Im on the same page and im a christian. If i was suffering, what would be the point of suffering for the rest of your life, when you can die, and be happier than you've ever been. whereever you go!

  • You don't have any arguments to offer so instead you ramble on with some conspiracy theory. Pathetic.

  • Actually the reason he "used" old people is because it is these people only who are his members. He wouldn't allow young non-terminally ill people as members. You ignorant fool.

  • It would be useful to have a list of the ingredients and quantities for the pill.

    allanwalton

  • The odds are that these people are going to be afflicted with a debilitating illness in the near future. They have watched lovrd-ones suffering in physical, emotional, and degrading situations - for months, years, or decades. They want the choice of how and when they go if the writing is suddenly on the wall. Praying (if religious) or hoping (if not religious) for release, is anathema. They are not fooled by a Hollywood fantasy of every death being dignified, gentle, and swift.

  • I would like to see your source for these claims. You seem to imply that most people die a long and torturous death.

  • My source is EXPERIENCE. I have cancer. I saw my parents, 3 grand-parents, 2 aunts, and 3 cousins die of cancer. Recent reports on palliative care state that 5% - 10% of cancer patients suffer uncontrollable pain. Not everyone can handle fecal incontinence, tube-feeding, having no relatives or friends with them, invasive procedures etc. Good laws can prevent people being "put down" against their wishes. I hope you never see a loved one suffer as I have. Fairness is CHOICE.

  • Hi Pardelope, sorry to hear about your illness. You, like many euthanasia advocates - assume that those who oppose euthanasia have never seen a loved one suffer, i have twice. my mother and my brother both died of cancer. "Good laws" how do we define that when your leader phillip wants this to be legal for everyone - including the troubled teen. In other countries "voluntary euthanasia" quicly paved the way for "involuntary euthanasia." The disabled and elderly are at risk.

  • I do not agree that "troubled teens" or supermarket access should be available - but those comments sure did get people discussing the topic! Most terminally ill people DO receive good pain-relief, but what if you are in the 5% - 10%? I still think, with good laws it should be possible for responsible people to receive accurate information and have a CHOICE. I don't want to live in a "nanny state" where someone else decides what I can or can't do with my own body.

  • Say what? "your leader phillip" does not want this legal for "the troubled teen". He is adament that this is only for terminally ill and the elderly. and "quickly paved the way for "involuntary euthanasia""??? what the hell are you talking about!?

  • Hear Hear! I say,

I have spent the last 5 years of my life helping to care for a very dear friend die from 3 different forms of cancer. We buried him last November, now his wife 4 months later has to go through all that herself, without her loved one to care for her. Her children have already removed her from her friend and stuck her in a hospital. The one thing she didn't want. Tell me that's fair.

It wont really matter when it's my turn, because I will just do it.

  • Please understand. VE already happens. I am concerned about the sneakiness and illegality that is involved. Doctors and others having to risk prison to help someone who is pleading for release - or just as awful - having to refuse such help. I resent people placing me or my loved ones in such a position - often because of religious beliefs - or cowardice in dealing with an awful fact of life. Our society needs to grow-up and stop pretending that all is lovely.

  • I agree that society needs to grow-up. It is the stubborn fear of death in the medical and political sectors that is creating TORTURE for those that suffer.

  • Fabulous. Should be more of it. Get the politicians involved to chnage the laws. This proceudre will only get better. How to get the chemicals?

  • If you say no to euthanasia I say walk a mile in our shoes. When your prognosis is a slow painful death, we should have that option, it will save the family watching a parent die a horrible, painful death. Far better knowing they no longer suffer, just because others say they have to. It is saving unnecessary suffering. That is humane, we do it for our animals, we would be prosecuted if we didn't. Isn't that being hypocritical? Give us the choice then leave us alone to die pain free.

  • Don't be so dense. Staying safe is to prevent pain and further suffering, not to stop death.

I value life, but I do support the right of anyone to die at a time of their own chosing. Death is not ordained by god, for some it is a painful, long drawn out process; some people are forced to die long after they are ready. Being able to chose the terms of one's own death is a right I believe should be legal.

  • HERE HERE!

  • This is ground breaking. Thanks so much for putting this on YouTube. It is comforting to know that there are people with sober rationality working to breakdown the wall of resistance. All the best to all those who worked on the making this film you are a great credit to the human race.
