i think some of the elves live, you see a scene where some of the elves are running up stairs while other elven archers fire into the breech, in the books there are a systems of caves behind the deeping wall, so they just fled there =D

Just to clarify there were none of the modern races in the first age only the Valar and the ummmm anti-Valar. The second age is when they came into being.

@LabashtheMighty That's actually incorrect, as the First Age begins when Eru awakens the Elves from their deep slumber. Pre-First Age time periods are subsequently known as: Valian Years, Years of the Lamps, then Years of the Trees, where then the First Age comes in. The First Age ends with the War of Wrath, where much of Beleriand is destroyed. The Second Age began with the foundation of Mithlond and Lindon, as the Noldorin kingdom under the leadership of Gil-Galad.

Pretty much all the elves died in the film - they were the first line of defence against most of the Uruk army. Some of them may have been just wounded, but I think all of them fell. :(

I'd love it if someone made an actual LOTR game in the style of Total War, which is true to the story. Basically this but with all the funding which would really finish it off perfectly.

@MrBluebirdsfc They would most likely introduce non-lore characters or creatures into it like in most LOTR games. It's a shame, because King Kong's team (guys who made this) displayed that you can adhere to lore and STILL make an awesome game.

@anduril38 There were only 200 elves in the real book and movie battle. They fought valiantly, but were slaughtered. Theoden would of lost if 2000 support Rohirem hadn't arrived and rode down and smashed the enemy. And, they still might of lost if Gandalf hadn't blinded the orcs to prevent any defense from them.

@jokerman148 The Elves at Helms Deep were only in the film. It clearly says Elves at Helms Deep: Not in the book, but were in the movie. I'm reading the story right now and it's sans Elves. If you don't have the book, I'll send you the site that lists all the differences from the book and film.
