I had a baby at 23 weeks gestation and he turned 19 years old in August. The doctor said he could not survive a delivery and that his lungs were too frail. I decided to have a c section so that the baby would have a better chance. When the baby was born, he cried. Along with surfactant in the lungs, he was intubated. The first 4 years were the big challenges. The doctors go by statistics. My son had a 2% chance of living. My son is so full of life and is healthy.

Doctors take an oath to "First Do No Harm" and what they did was play God.....who's to say how your children would have fared if only given the chance.....I am glad to hear your wife went on to have another successful pregnancy but am soooo sad and angry that this happened to your four precious babies.

My dear, dear lady. Thank you for sharing your babies with me. I'm not sure where you are from, but sadly I think in America the gestational age for survival will rise to 28 weeks. I'm sure the federal government wouldn't dream of caring for smaller and weaker babies because it will cost too much. These precious ones will need a voice to speak for them. In this state it's 24 weeks. Despite that I still believe that hospitals need to give medical attention to babies no matter what gestation they are especially if the parents want it.

I feel so sorry for you. I had my daughter early also but she survived. And I thank the lord every day because she is alive. I pray that this never happens again. My sister in-law is 9 months pregnant and might lose the baby because of lack of fluid in the sack. They expected her not to live this long. Some times these things happen and we don't know why.

You know,they also told me that they can get infection because I had opening on a 24th week...My God....I am crying when I watch your video....It is just so cruel,what was happened to you .

Terrible to lose four lovely babies, but the hospital should have explained that, if you had been carrying one baby it would have had a chance. Four babies sharing the same life support may have been quite a lot less developed than a single foetus.
Don't despair, I still think you were given this experience for a reason. You've been given the chance to share this with others and maybe lessen their pain a little

The doctors or hospital shouldn't have told you that because babies at fewer weeks gestation have been born and survived with quality NICU care. So your doctors misinformed you or are incompitant. Do they have the legal right NOT to save lives? They are ethically bound to SAVE lives by the oath they swear after med school. They would have grown up to be such beautiful children. Oh .Thats so sad.I know how you feel Dear.I have a twins.It was the same dificult.All pregnancy in the hospital.Since 12th week.The doctors were great.When I got with contractions on 24 week and 2 days...they did everything to keep them as long as possible.They were still born earlly 33+4 day. You know,they also told me that they can get infection because I had opening on a 24th week...My God....I am crying when I watch your video....It is just so cruel,what was happened to you .

this is bullshit!! you should have sued the doctor and the hospital.. they have no right to say no to their patient as long as the babies are breathing they should have done everything they could to have saved the lives of your babies.. i agree with vfosson regarding the NICU part..

sry for my language but thats is FUCKED UP on the doctor's part. That pisses me off..my friend was due in two weeks and found out the baby had no heartbeat and had to deliver it today. The doctor's have a moral and ethical responsibility to SAVE your children's life. I hope you guys got a lawyer for their stupidity. RIP 4 angels

OMG, this is so sad, .and am very sorry for ur lose,Carey.. i have lost twins as well they came to early to this world and there was nothing doctors could do, it was my first baby's after 3 years marriage--- so u could think how i felt then, the doctors try to save them, but there was no hope... and i was in 24 week, and i needed one day to 25....
Life must go on, now am pregnant again, 4 months , and i pray every day that everything will be good this time....

Terrible to lose four lovely babies, but the hospital should have explained that, if you had been carrying one baby it would have had a chance. Four babies sharing the same life support may have been quite a lot less developed than a single foetus.
Don't despair, I still think you were given this experience for a reason. You've been given the chance to share this with others and maybe lessen their pain a little

soo there was actully four? not to make anyone upset im just curious... when there pictures were taken why were they that dark their parents looked pretty white to me? also were they dead while u were holding them? im soooo sorry..... im still young and have lots to learn. God bless you with more babies that live and are healthy...

they are born really premature, so their skin has that dark pigment because it hasnt fully developed yet

The doctors or hospital shouldn't have told you that because babies at fewer weeks gestation have been born and survived with quality NICU care. So your doctors misinformed you or are incompitant. Do they have the legal right NOT to save lives? They are ethically bound to SAVE lives by the oath they swear after med school. They would have grown up to be such beautiful children. I'm astounded and baffled by this. I'm so sorry for your loss...

Oh no. Oh no. Aw, I can't stop crying. That's too sad, too horrifying for words. My mom came in and was surprised because I was bawling uncontrollably. I really don't understand why the hospital thought that trying to save them would to morally unjustified. Can someone explain? I don't understand at all. Not at all.

Oh wow, I am so sorry. Chills are all over my body. My twins were preemies too, at 32 weeks gestation, weighing 3.8 and 3.13. In Nov, they will be 4 years old.

shame shame on those doctors n that hospital , that was down right heartless to tell any mother at any stage fo pregnancy that they wont provide any intervention ,i hope u sued the sh*t out of em ... we need to get the march of dimes to intervene maybe somehow that sadly your children may indeed have survived , look at the 10 1/2 oz baby in florida
