@badbradmx Yeah, I have a badass gaming rig that, when really challenged by the few games that can challenge it (damn those console first developers), I'm talking about Metro 2033, Crysis, BF3 - those kind of games, when really challenged, it transcends any gaming experience I have ever had. And I am about to add another 6970 and two more monitors for 5760x1080/tri-fired 6970s.
I cannot imagine that level of quality from consoles, although I do prefer some genres on console.

the only thing really different on 360 vs ps3 videos is the rendering and DD "draw distance" for the most part ps3 is running the same graphics as the 360 because of the 360's bottlenecking hardware. To see the real difference run a ps3 exclusive and a 360 exclusive side by side

Load/save times are a fraction of what they are on PS3. You actually have some anti-aliasing going on. Better textures (even better with 2-3 GB video cards). And so on.
High end PC games will always outperform game consoles. But this video is a perfect example of why there is NO NEED for a new generation of consoles.
For those old enough to remember, the graphic differences in new consoles were huge. You couldn't get Metal Gear Solid on SNES and you couldn't get Street Fighter 2 on NES. Game consoles are operating on 6-7 year old technology and while high end pc games look better than consoles, the casual average joe wouldn't notice much (if any) difference.

I don't believe technology has reached a point to where a new console can make the ps3 and 360 graphics look horrible.

I think there is some evidence of what i am saying from the computer industry. There is not the push to improve computing power and graphics like there was 15 years ago. Gameplay and media integration are much more important now.

@Matexterminator My GTX 570 slices through this game like butter. The fps is capped at 60 so anything above is pointless. Unfortunately for me, my monitor is 120hz but the game only gives me 60 when my GPU can produce way more. My point is the refresh rate on PC and Xbox 360 is better for this game than the PS3. @MrDrift9000 That means the system can output an image to a tv that supports those resolutions. That doesn't mean the system actually renders those resolutions natively. The COD series for instance is actually only somewhere around 640 and upscaled (stretched/adds extra pixels) to the resolution on your tv.
Give your xbox a break through, its running on hardware equivalent to 6 to 7 year old pc hardware. Upscaling is just a trick to play modern games on budget hardware.

its hard to tell on this cause im seeing some screen tearing and aliasing on this pc footage, but i got it for 360 and pc and it is remarkably better on pc since they did the graphics options update and everything maxed. It has the cleanest edges and least aliasing ive ever seen in a game which says a lot because the aliasing in the console versions is pretty bad. Theres a little texture pop in when theres a lot on ther screen but its minamal. Best PC graphics of the year in my opinion

@StuUngar do you know why theres no need, because theres more money for companies to make games for these consoles thats why their not making high end games for just pc's, if they did graphics would be a million times better but consoles are holding graphics back. if they made a new one and company's upgraded it would be so much better for pc players cause game are being "consolised"

@1BYEBYE1 I think you make a good point. I hadn't really considered that, and when I think about it, I'm sure that occurs.
However, I still believe computer graphics are starting to reach a ceiling with the current way we build computers. When the PS and N64 hit, the snes and genesis were horribly outdated. When the DC and ps2 hit, it made the ps1 look like shit.
I don't believe technology has reached a point to where a new console can make the ps3 and 360 graphics look horrible.

@1BYEBYE1 I have no doubt a new console would be an improvement. But other than the wii, I don't think it would provide a jaw dropping difference. I believe there would be HD improvements and AI/NPC improvements. But idk if casual gamers would notice.
I think there is some evidence of what i am saying from the computer industry. There is not the push to improve computing power and graphics like there was 15 years ago. Gameplay and media integration are much more important now.

@StuUngar i dono man, i've played modern warfare 3 on my brothers xbox at hd resolution and man, it looked soooooo bad. then i wen't in my room and played battlefield 3 on ultra on a 1200 res monitor and omg it looks amazing compared. i mean its not a huge difference like ps1 to ps2 but i think its a big enough difference to create another console.

I might be wrong but the way it looks designed, the barrel is just as thick as the bullet chamber so in order for it to fireproperly the bullet has to fill the barrel thickness making it only seem possible that it only has 1 shot...

@Matexterminator My GTX 570 slices through this game like butter. The fps is capped at 60 so anything above is pointless. Unfortunately for me, my monitor is 120hz but the game only gives me 60 when my GPU can produce way more. My point is the refresh rate on PC and Xbox 360 is better for this game than the PS3. Not saying the PC was static hardware like the consoles. Other people have inner thoughts, you know...

@MrDrift9000 That means the system can output an image to a tv that supports those resolutions. That doesn't mean the system actually renders those resolutions natively. The COD series for instance is actually only somewhere around 640 and upscaled (stretched/adds extra pixels) to the resolution on your tv.
Give your xbox a break through, its running on hardware equivalent to 6 to 7 year old pc hardware. Upscaling is just a trick to play modern games on budget hardware.

its hard to tell on this cause im seeing some screen tearing and aliasing on this pc footage, but i got it for 360 and pc and it is remarkably better on pc since they did the graphics options update and everything maxed. It has the cleanest edges and least aliasing ive ever seen in a game which says a lot because the aliasing in the console versions is pretty bad. Theres a little texture pop in when theres a lot on ther screen but its minamal. Best PC graphics of the year in my opinion

only on games like bf3 or crysis 2 the graph diference betwen pc and ps3 is significantly the rest of the games have mostly the same look.. anyway pc clearly has the best graphics no doubt about that but ps3 rules on exclusivists and gameplay and anyway is not much until the ps4 comes out... i really can't wait to see the graphics quality of the next ps.. if it will be the same like what pc has now... personal computer will suck it so hard... cause the only thing that pc has.. is graph...
